Amazing beginning to season 2!
amsterdamjen14 February 2020
This episode is great and sets up the entire season. I highly recommend finishing season one before starting this one though, otherwise the more the season progresses the more it won't make as good of a story. If you've finished season one however, you're in for a treat! Most every major player in the game makes an appearance at Felix Gallardo's 40th birthday, and the tension begins to brew.

Warning: Spoilers
Not the best start to the season, but still good. This was highlighted by one intense scene between the two big names.

Having the DEA agents and cops behave so inappropriately is not why we watch this show. They're dumbing down the chase.

Introducing a new look for DEA agents

Warning: Spoilers
Scoot McNairy is a terrible choice for Walt Breslin. He looks like a strung out junkie or a skid row wino no matter what role he's cast in and this one is no exception. His mission is scummy and low rent as well. That makes me think that maybe casting someone who looks like a low-life scumbag is intentional since the mission is so nasty.

This isn't to say that whatever was actually done with Operation Leyenda in real life was as criminal and immoral as it's being depicted in the teleplay, but the operation, if there actually was such a thing conducted as shown, was criminal and amounted to espionage against a friendly nation and was a violation of Mexico's sovereignty.

Blowing me away!

Warning: Spoilers
I was a big fan of the first season, and because of the first season I became a big fan of Narcos overall and I am so glad. But when it came to the first season of "Narcos: Mexico", there were some flaws in the writing and storytelling. But when it comes to this second season, it is blowing me away. Everything is easy to understand and it all makes sense. It also answers some questions we had from the previous season. So yeah this first episode was an amazing way to kick off the season. Walt has already become one of my favorites, and Chapo and Cochiloco are hilarious. I can't wait to finish the rest of this season!
