Adam Sandler Can Do Drama
18 September 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I think this was a very good movie about tragedies in life and how they affect us. The movie takes us one the emotional ride of three people with different tragic events in their lives; one with the tragedy of lose of loved ones, one with the tragedy of betrayal of a loved one and one with the tragedy of emotion separation from a loved one.

Although the ending was not surprising the plot development was done really well. A strong cast well matched to their respective characters ensures a good Drama movie.

And it goes to prove Adam Sandler can do Dramas well, not just comedies. Do more Dramas dude!

I Hope Our Politicians Watch This Documentary
23 March 2004
Well done Mike Moore for taking the difficult topic of gun control and highlighting what can (and does) occur as a consquence by having people arm themselves from fear of what could happen if they don't.

This documentary was a hard watch for me because the content is so real. It is not a movie, it IS a documentary.

Although this is a must see, due to the nature of the content many may not bring themselves to watch. Regardless, I hope at least our politicians watch to emphasize the responsibilities they have in promoting social unity and indeed the influence they have in molding social standards. Promoting fear obviously does not work!

And it made Charlton Heston out to be a monkey after all! After shooting tragedies such as Columbine and also the 6 year old girl who was shot, what is the measure of your insensitivity Charlton ? "From my cold dead hands". Get a life!

Ladies and Gentleman I Give You The Worst Movie Ever Made
19 August 2003
Simply put, this is the worst movie since "Police Academy: Mission to Moscow" (if you liked that movie you will probably like this one).

What were they thinking ? Some ideas should stay just that, an idea. The fact that this idea could itself to film should be a criminal offense.

What was so bad about it I hear you ask. One word ... EVERYTHING.

Cost to Hire: $4.50 Cost in Time to Watch: 89 Minutes

I want a refund on both!

My Advice Is To Stick With It
3 October 2001
Twenty minutes into this film I was thinking, "What the hell is this!". I thought about turning it off more than once but I stuck with it and was pleased I did.

The story is about a group of people (pairs) who are dealing with different situations but all have interesting crossovers and other things in common. It takes a while to get going, but when it does it is very good. You start picking the common connections as the movie progresses.

There is only one surprise and the end that most won't guess ... Anthony Edwards, you bad boy!

Special mention for the parts played by Ryan Phillippe and Angelina Jolie. This was the most interesting (and comical) pair to follow during the movie.

Stick with it and you won't be disappointed.

And Then Out of No-Where Came This Movie
23 September 2001
What a wonderful romantic comedy. After watching several ordinary movies during the week, out of no-where comes this little gem.

The story is about a Senator standing for election who sends a member of his staff to Ireland to seek out his ancestry. This is supposed to help him win the Irish vote. But once she arrives in Ireland the story moves to more of a finding love theme that worrying about the Senator.

Janeane Garofalo was so right for the main role. She is wonderful at the witty humour as shown in "The Truth About Cats and Dogs". I think she is a wonderful actress and I hope to see her in a lot more films.

If you want a romantic film with laughs then this is the film for you. Add to this the charm of the Ireland landscape and you have a movie that shouldn't be missed.

(Do they really say the "F" word like that in Ireland ?)

You have to be in the right mood
16 August 2001
You have to be in the right mood for this movie. Fortunately the night I watched it I was in the right mood. I enjoyed this movie. It wasn't brilliant but it wasn't awful. The plot was believable. Husband dies tragically, wife bottles up feeling, friends help her through tough times, she helps friends through tough times, her feelings finally come out etc etc. Sounds like a bad soap but is actually quite good.

The best bit of the movie for me was Elizabeth Perkins. For years I have suspected she could act quite well but previous parts haven't given her the chance to show it. This movie did! Elizabeth Perkins did a superb job of pulling off the part of the wife struggling to come to terms with her husbands death. The scene near the end of the movie where she finally broke down was a piece of brilliance on her behalf. Surrounded by three other popular actresses she shines through!

I'm glad I watched it! 7/10.

David Arquette's "Hudson Hawk"
12 July 2001
Simply awful. Bruce Willis was quoted as saying that every actor/actress needs a "Hudson Hawk" in their career. This was easily David Arquette's "Hudson Hawk". Dreadful story-line, very ordinary car chases, little drama, no suspense and no twist at the end.

The Best bit of the movie was the credits. The Worst bit was the 91 minutes before the credits.

Anyone interested in watching this movie take my advice, go for a 91 minute walk and save yourself the anguish of this movie.

(Can someone send me the Director's Address, I want to bill them for the hire charge of this movie).

Easily the worst movie I have ever seen
2 March 2001
Words almost fail me in trying to describe my view on this film. Yes, it was that bad!

What didn't I like ? Well just about everything. The plot was all over the place, the violence went for shock factor rather than relevance, the ‘romantic' scenes were like a bad B Grade movie, the attempted twist at the end was uninteresting, the acting … well I'm not sure there is a category to describe that!

If you are thinking of seeing or hiring this movie my advice is don't waste your time or money.

I have never given a zero for a movie ever before. But in this case it is easy. A waste of 2 hours and $6.00. ZERO!

A surprisingly good movie
25 May 2000
An insight into how a person can get so wrapped up in helping others they forget they need to help themselves. A good but expected ending. The only movie that I have liked Rosie Perez in. Jeff Bridges can be quite good in a dramatic role and this is an example of such a case. Worth a watch!
