New Appreciation for a Slow Pace
4 June 2013
Last night as I started to watch this I almost stopped during the opening scenes. The pace is slow, real slow. I tend not to tolerate slow moving stories very well. Yet as soon as I met Boss Spearman and Charley Waite I was hooked. Robert Duvall and Kevin Costner did a fantastic job of convincing me they were driving those cows through the open range. In fact by the time the two hours and nineteen minutes rolled by, I didn't feel it. I'm not saying that slower paced westerns are all I will watch now, but this one was worthy the viewing. May even find itself reviewed a few years down the road.

Great entertainment, and a movie to help one appreciate the slower pace.

For the dog lover

Good Boy

This is a movie for dog lovers. If you like dogs, than you most likely will like this movie. The dogs were great. They looked good. There seemed to be little to no CGI interference with the dogs. The human actors left a lot to be desired, but the movie really wasn't about them anyway. Dogs are from space. They were supposed to colonize Earth, but have instead become pets. The dogs from the home star get mad and want to take away the Earth dogs. That's the basic plot behind the movie. Good for kids and adults who like dogs. Dogs are cool animals and need more movies. Sure the movie was silly, but at least it had dogs in it.

Decent film
17 February 2004
I just finished watching this documentary by Michael Moore. First off I'm not a big Michael Moore fan, but am interested in the Gun Control issue. Documentary wise the movie is ok, it does tend to present only one side, but that is what I expected it to do anyway. Actually before watching this movie I supported removing Guns from America, but after watching it I can't say that that is the answer. Fear seems to be our problem, not too many guns. Anyway you can get that from the movie. Bowling for Columbine is over all a decent film. It is perhaps a little long, but that is why they invented fast forward buttons. Bowling for Columbine is worth the watch.

Ok vampire movie
20 July 2001
Well this was certainly not any Bram Stroker's Dracula, but not all together bad on it's own. First off I thought there should have been more vampire gore and blood and stuff in the movie. Also the transformation from human to vampire was too easy and quick, should have been more like dying and less like living. I did like the explanation on where Dracula came from, haven't heard that one before. Well was worth a turn on my Netfix rental list. I gave it a 6 out of 10 just for the origin of Dracula story.

I didn't really like it
23 March 2000
Just was not a good movie. It needed more Christopher Walkin in it. The first one was ok, though not great either. The second movie in the trilogy had little to offer. Now the third and final movie, well not a complete waste of my movie time. The story was lacking in this one, I really didn't know what was up untill I didn't care to know anymore. Well that's enough time on this movie.

A decent movie for the middle of the week.
15 March 2000
If you are looking for something to watch in the middle of the week because you hate TV then this is a good movie to watch. Not the greatest Harrison Ford move, but it is a good story. I haven't really seen many of Kristen Scott Thomas' movies, but I thought she did a good job of showing realistic emotions in this film. I rated it a six.

A delightful movie, worth the twenty bucks for the DVD
2 March 2000
I thought this was a rather good romantic comedy. I usually go for the Sci Fi, or blood and guts themes, but this one seemed to hold my attention. The characters were great, and the story catchy enough to make you want to know what happens. I rated this movie an eight, and highly recommend the DVD.

I can't decide it I liked this movie or didn't like it
16 November 1999
Thinking about it now it is hard to say whether this was a good movie or not. I certainly didn't laugh as much as I did at Waterboy or Happy Gilmore, but still it was pretty funny. It surprisingly had some touching moments in it. It also had moments that made no sense at all, like the fact that the real dad is gone the whole movie and just shows up at the end like nothing was wrong. Well all in all it was worth the 3.56 it cost to rent it.

They forgot to tell the story of the Partridge Family
14 November 1999
I wanted to see a movie that told the real story of the family, but instead you got pretty much nothing. A little bit here and a little bit there but no story. There was no character development at all really, and there should have been some kind of look at where they are now segment.

Good idea for a movie, but this one failed.
18 October 1999
The primary reason I gave this movie a mere 4 was the musical score. The whole gangsta rap thing was lame. I don't want to sit and listen for an hour and a half to someone crudely talking about having sex with anything that moves. The movie itself was pretty slow, but had some cool characters. Especially the crazy mumbling dude.

Watch only if you have the extra time to spare.
13 October 1999
I saw this movie many years ago, and just for kicks decided to rent it and watch it again. The plot is a carbon copy from Fright Night. I did like the hairy vampire and the bug eating driver. Otherwise it was not good at all.

Ravenous (1999)

Decent movie worth renting.
12 October 1999
I thought Ravenous was ok. It had a good story to tell. They could have left off the comedy though. The whole idea of telling a cannibalistic story is cool. The weendigo part could have been left out. Well there's my four lines worth.

If you can't sleep
12 October 1999
I love vampire movies, so I have to watch them all. That means good ones and not so good ones. Vampire Journals has a good story to tell, but fails to tell it. The best part of the whole movie is...well I can't think of one.
