"Stop calling me your brother!" Hey, stop calling this a movie! I could have made a better film with a VHS camcorder and the cast of an elementary school Christmas program! Anyway, here's my big question: Why wear a mask? Everyone knows his secret identity, and if they don't, he takes it off at the end anyway! Just leave the mask at home!

Not for the faint of heart. Well, maybe it is, I don't know.

How would you like to be known as the Paul twin who couldn't act as well as his brother? Ouch. This movie is like a really bad Saturday morning cartoon- the main character always wears the same clothes, the dialogue is filled with corny jokes only kids will laugh at, and the plot is simple and predictable. (If you can't figure out how things will turn out with the wussy partner, you haven't seen many movies.) If you like Mystery Science Theater, you might enjoy this movie for campy action value. Otherwise, avoid it so you don't have to cringe at this clever exchange between the twins: "No way." "Yes way." "No way." "Yes way." "No way..."

True Beauty
15 February 2000
This may be the most beautiful film ever. A lot of people have a problem with the fact that 2001 doesn't have a conventional plot; however, the plot is not the point of this film. This is filmmaking as art, and rarely does filmic art achieve the beauty of Kubrick's masterpiece.

A Fun Documentary for Movie Fans
8 February 2000
This is a pretty good making-of documentary, insofar as it includes a lot of clips and a pretty good feeling for how and why everything was done. The thing about it that made me laugh, however, was how much they overstated the value of the series. While I will admit that the many sequels may have set an unfortunate precedent, I feel the films themselves weren't quite as important as the writers of this documentary would have us believe.

The Best Movie of 99
7 February 2000
I was so impressed with Three Kings, I think it was the best movie I saw last year. It's got a perfect blend of action, humor and drama (both personal and political). One thing this movie made me realize is how often people from the mideast are the "bad guys" in Hollywood films, and I think Three Kings does a good job of avoiding this. Everyone should check out this film. (But keep an open mind, the previews are deceptive.)

My Favorite Movie
7 February 2000
I just wanted to say that of all the films I have seen, I think Max Cherry, as played by Robert Forster, is my favorite character. The great part of this movie is that it doesn't pander to a younger audience, but rather tells of intelligent, experienced people who are reaching an introspective point of their lives.
