Revelation (1999)
Peter and Paul LaLonde have set a new Low in Christian Film!
25 April 2002
This movie is horrible. Aside from the plot gaffes, of which there are many, the movie itself is very weak. For those of you who are not Christians, you are seriously going to be left out, since I am a deeply devout Christian, and this movie had me reeling! Many non-Christians believe that simply because it is a Christian movie, we all like it. Trust me, it's not true. I have reviewed thousands of movies. In fact, 5,698 to date (not here. I have a website.) The plotlines are sketchy, the acting is stiff and cardboard, and the incredible cheese that flows from this movie is just palpable. Peter & Paul LaLonde need to sit down and find out how a real movie is made. They need to quit watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for plot insight too. This has to stop. Christian movies are among the lowest rated movies in the world. Now, in the older days, we had Ben Hur & Ten Commandments, The Robe, etc. Extremely high quality huge epic productions. Ten Commandments alone had the largest cast & set at the time it was made. Now with Revelation, of course, pathetic CG effects make it sub-par.

Trust me, if you are interested in studying Christianity and Christian movies, don't use this one. Or the next one, or the one before this one.

I was blown away!
25 April 2002
I was blown away! By how absolutely idiotic and muddled and confusing this movie is! I laughed my head off at the stupidity. Not only that, the video, being bad as it is, costs twice as much! Folks, this movie is poorly depicted, poorly done, horribly acted and confusing all the way through. It's like they tossed together old Saturday Night Live bits for the movie!

Sneakers (1992)
An excellent movie of a world all too real
13 March 2001
First of all, I have an IQ above 190. I absolutely love this movie. Second of all, there really is a world out there that does these things every day. Robert Redford is excellent as the leader of a ragtag group of crackers and code-breakers. Along with Dan Aykroyd as "mother" and the rest of the A list of excellent actors, this movie was extremely funny. Alot of those who work with, build, program computers, (ie me.), will get the inside jokes, and those who don't will like the hilarious situations they find themselves in. Overall, the movie is an excellent piece of writing, with many jokes and riddles along the way. I would also like to note, that where Liz explains that she'll never try a computer dating service again and Cosmo figures her out,...that is 100% possible. A computer dating service, no matter how cheap, follows guidelines and standard logic. A computer does not make "educated guesses". In the computer world, 1=1=1. And Brandes and Liz are so different, even a "cheap" dating service computer wouldn't pair those two. Back to the comments, I would have to say this movie recieved a 9.5 out of 10. I can watch this movie over and over again, still enjoying little scenes here and there, and overall, I recommend this to anyone who wants a good laugh, likes espionage, cloak and dagger and so on, computers, spies, Robert Redford and one liners that just zing past you. 9.5 out of 10. Wonderful movie.

Leap of Faith (1992)
Salvation lies within...
12 March 2001
A masterpiece of both the secular and the Godly were mixed in this amazingly wonderful movie. Steve Martin is at his absolute best playing con man faith healer Jonas Nightingale. His approach as a con man/faith healer/snake oil salesman is 100% believable. With some of the most beautiful gospel music, and a fantastic story about true faith, Leap of Faith is truly one of the most incredible movies of life and healing. I gave it a 10.

Another step in the right direction
11 March 2001
The Movie Carman: The Champion is another step in the right direction.

Right on the heels of Left Behind the Movie, The Champion is definitely Christian, as you will understand as you watch the movie. However, the movie packs quite a punch. When you see this movie, do not go out to see senseless and stupid explosions and special effects, go and see Carman: The Champion, a story about heart, the right decision, and the Love of God.

The best comedy in trek since the tribble.
5 January 2001
First off, to explain the common question: In the beginning council scene, where we see the Enterprise explode, how are we seeing this take place? True, it is footage from ST:III, however, alot of hardcore trek fans know that when you are in imminent danger, you release an audio/visual flight probe. (alot like our flight data recorders on planes.) This is how we watched the Enterprise go kablooey.

Now...on to the review...

This is the best Star Trek movie that has ever been made. Star Trek IV combined loads of comedy, technical information (ie, transparent aluminum, dilithium recrystalization, etc...)though true, that little mac would have died from overload with an equation like that. Still, it's Scotty,...And the absolutely superb acting done by the cast. This is, and always shall be...my favourite trek movie.

And the ending, with the new Enterprise-A, well, that's just a classic.
