Game of Thrones (2011)
Simply Great.
I can't say anything about Game of Thrones that hasn't been said a hundred times before, so this review will essentially just be me gushing over its magnificence. But before that I'll get the ugly stuff out of the way first. The show suffers a slight dip in quality at Season 6, and then again lowers the quality slightly in Season 7 and then suffers a large drop off in Season 8. However, in my opinion, Seasons 1-7 do maintain a rather consistent level of quality and it is only at Season 8 where it gets rough. And yet, despite the changes in quality, the show as a whole achieves more than any other show before or after. Seasons 1-4 are perfect, and I mean completely and utterly perfect. Game of Thrones is fantasy incarnate and yet keeps the world grounded and tangible. Martin's phenomenal dialogue translates perfectly onto the small screen and is accompanied by brilliant sound design, cinematography, acting, and Ramin Djawadi's score. I don't have much more to say other than this is undoubtedly the greatest fantasy story ever told and despite there being notable lows, the highs are of such magnitude that they make the lesser episodes seem insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I could talk about this show for hours on end, but that would probably bore you, so i'll just summarise by saying that it is just brilliant. Seeing is believing however, and if you haven't seen it already, be prepared to set aside a couple months to completely indulge in this magnum opus of television.
Dune: Part Two (2024)
Wow.
Simply put, Dune: Part Two is a modern masterpiece of cinema. This is an undoubtedly phenomenal piece of art, and Villeneuve's magnum opus. This movie asserts what a big, modern Blockbuster should be; beautiful visuals and sound design, accompanied by a sound story and compelling characters. People generally talk about the impressive scale of this movie and it's clear to see why. The world building rivals LOTR and tells a story so compelling as to stand in tandem with the likes of Star Wars. Dune: Part Two is fantasy at its best, its ability to keep you hooked while throwing so much information and unfamiliar language at you is unparalleled. However, like all movies, it's not without its flaws. I wouldn't call this a perfect film and people will of course have minor gripes with aspects of the story, but that is to be expected. Regardless, I think it comes pretty damn close to being a contender for the best movie of all time.. I know this seems to be a wacky claim, and I may well be riding the high of seeing the film just recently, but I truly think the sheer scale of Dune: Part Two rivals the all time greats of cinema. Dune has a little bit for everyone, and I feel anyone can get entertainment out of watching it, which can't be said for many modern movies. It avoids the pitfall of falling into one, succinct category. It is not JUST sci-fi fantasy, but a gripping drama, an enthralling adventure and a revenge story all in one. To summarise, it's good, real good and one of those rare movies that you HAVE to see. I think it's "must see" status is only comprable to last year's Oppenheimer.
365 dni (2020)
The worst movie ever.
No debate, the worst movie ever made bar "The Room". This website is made for rating movies, not porn. If you are a middle aged woman who's using this to be aroused by, all the power to you. But don't rate it a 10/10 when it has the worst cast, performances, cinematography, music......
Skins: Franky (2011)
Terrible
What an atrocious direction to go with a once amazing show. This characters are not likeable in any way at all. Annoys me how much of a downgrade gen 3 is compared to gen 1. Doesn't even feel like skins and is simply not enjoyable at all.
Kimi no na wa. (2016)
Wow
I've been watching anime for a few years now, and my friend told me to watch this, I was sceptical at first but after watching it; my mind is blown. The animation is beautiful and the way the story is executed is superb. I don't usually write reviews but after watching your name. , I felt I had to. It'll pull at your heart strings and it rlly is a tear jerker. Please check it out, anime fan or not it's a must watch.
The Sparticle Mystery (2011)
generally good
For a cbbc show it's actually really interesting and enticing (for season 1 anyway) after season 1 it gets a little more boring with some of the best characters gone
Doragon Bôru Episôdo obu Bâdakku (2011)
If you understand the story line you will love it
Amazing show of what bardock can do which we haven't seen before and the introduction of chilled is also good
Dragonball Evolution (2009)
Too good for our eyes
Amazing movie, stuck close to the original manga and anime source material (I watched 2 episodes of Dragon Ball GT so I know what I'm talking about). A one of a kind perfect movie with no clear problems in my eyes. Perfect cast and very very accurate representations of the characters in Dragon Balls Z. Amazing CGI and amazing costume work. Deserves best picture and best costume design along with hundreds of other awards. I would give it an 11/10 if I could
Dragon Ball Z (1996)
Exhilarating, a must watch
Dragon Ball Z is definitely one of the best anime's of all time every fight is left in suspense and Goku rises to new levels and possibilities in every season, just brilliant. All the characters have depth and you can grow to like them with ease, it is easy to love this show and it truly is a must watch for anyone. Also it is a great follow up to Dragon ball. I love everything about this show, however season 4's first half didn't really make sense to me because I didn't watch 'dragon ball z: dead zone' and because of this I was unfamiliar with the character and didn't feel he was a real threat. Other those 10 episodes (which are definitely not bad, just not my cup of tea) the show is amazing.
Life on Mars (2006)
Amazing
One of my favourite Tv Shows of all time Absolutely amazing; balances science fiction with crime and enthralling drama. A truly great show which is wrapped up perfectly in the final episode.
