The Strangers (2008)
some bits made me jump but didn't keep me on the edge of my seat
Having read comments on here I was really geared up for a suspense thriller and at certain points it did have a scare factor that made you jump however not something that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. The ending was a bit over the top for me too and rather than scaring me nearly made sick. The story plot of them having an argument although this was based on true story I found quite unbelievable they seemed so happy so why would she say no to a proposal. Liv Tyler was on top form though and as I said before it did make me jump a couple of times the ending however is not for the faint hearted.
Saw III (2006)
Ab Fab!!!
Jax Wardle - Although I thought it was good at the time looking back on it, it did concentrate a lot more on gore than any others did. There is still a good story line and lots of twist's (he he!!). However I would like to know which people thought it gory enough to actually faint. so please if you know anyone that either had to run out of the cinema or actually be taken to hospital because they fainted please get in touch. I'm quite proud really i sat through the whole thing only having to put my hand to my eyes only twice. Although to be fair my dads prouder as he could watch the whole thing eating popcorn at the most goriest bits. MEN!!!
The Thing (1982)
When Carpenter was king
Having just watched this amazing film again, I find it sad to see the great John Carpenter now directing some poor films. Along with Halloween, The Thing is right up there with other great horror films. Everything about this film is right. The suspense as it builds, the effects that still look absolutely brilliant. The mystery of who is next in line. What more can I say? If you haven't seen it, you are missing out on a treat.
Antitrust (2001)
Should have been much better
After watching the adverts and seeing it starred Tim Robbins and Rachel Leigh Cook, I was overjoyed to see this film being showed on the Aeroplane on my way back from Florida. However, I was hugely disappointed by its execution. The idea of a Bill Gates type figure taking over the world should have been a sure fire winner. However, all we got was a boring plot where the director seemed to be making up the story as he was filming it. My suggestion is to wait until it is shown on tv.
Akbar's Adventure Tours (1998)
Fun the first time
To enjoy this, you really need to visit it before any other ride in Orlando. Fun the first time, the novelty soon wears thin and the jokes are truly dreadful. Poor old Martin Short, reduced to being a fairground attraction. If you want a competent simulation, try this. If you want the best go for Back To The Future and Spiderman at Universal.
