Great thriller
2 November 2003
Yes, some of the events in this movie may be predictable, but I really loved this movie. It's got everything... scares, heartbreak, sadness, pain, happiness... everything except a sappy love story included. I really like Leelee Sobieski, and I think she's a great actress. (She's totally a young Helen Hunt.) I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who wants to be scared... just not to the point of terror.

Great twist on a classic
2 November 2003
This movie is such a great way to end the "Halloween" series... if it truly is over. As in all "Halloween" movies, the ending seems final, but we all know that Michael has been known to come back... more horrifyingly with each new movie. This movie brings the next generation into the story, with Josh Hartnett playing John Tate, Laurie Strode's (now Keri Tate, played by Jaime Lee Curtis) son. I could definitely see this movie coming back to haunt us... yet again. Honestly, I hope it does. It's good to see all of the surprises in store for us "Halloween" fans. I can't wait to see if there's another movie!

See Jane Date (2003 TV Movie)
9/10
Another Cute Romantic Comedy
16 August 2003
"See Jane Date"... a movie whose storyline is told in the title. This movie chronicle's Jane's life in the Dating World... sometimes scary, sometimes aggravating, sometimes ... perfect. Charisma Carpenter, who plays Jane, has a cute, girl-next-door look to her. She's perfect for a romantic comedy. She hasn't been in many movies, and is more well-known for her roles in "Charmed" and "Buffy." (I'll be honest... I've never really watched either show.) This movie has a bunch of hot guys as well as a bunch of losers, so while you get some eye candy, you see some guys who are all too realistic to us single girls. The good thing, however, is that all of the losers only get to be in a scene or two. The bad thing? The same is true for the cuties. I don't know very much about Linda Dano, who plays Jane's aunt. That's probably because I don't watch soaps. For any soap opera fan, this is a chance to see Ms. Dano in a different venue, and I think she's quite good in this movie. I give this movie 9/10 stars. For a romantic comedy, this is pretty good. But it has the feel of every other romantic comedy, which is the cause of the missing star. Overall, this movie is pretty great, and leaves you with a happy-go-lucky feeling; it's a definite feel-good movie. But for those of us single girls, it's a bit depressing, since it's so realistic. Let's face it: the Dating World primarily sucks, until you find THE ONE. That's why it's great that we have movies like this, which offer a little bit of hope or light at the end of the tunnel, to tide us over until HE comes along.

Made-for-TV Magic
11 August 2003
This movie is so realistic that I can't tell whether or not it's a true story. I can see how it could be. The viewer easily sees each viewpoint of the various characters, which is a really interesting concept. I really like this movie, because although they are difficult things to think about (RAPE and MURDER), you can't truly know who you are until you begin to tackle your beliefs and opinions on the most difficult subject matter. The best word to describe this movie would be poignant. I give this movie a definite 5 out of 5 stars; an A+; Thumbs Up!

Summer of Fear (1996 TV Movie)
8/10
Pretty good TV movie
26 May 2003
Warning: Spoilers
Three mild spoilers

For a TV movie, "Summer of Fear" is pretty darn good! It's got a bunch of twists and turns. I felt so happy that Simon did not turn out to be a killer. Most of the time, the "bad guy" is really just messed-up psychologically. But to make the movie worthwhile, the moviemakers turn the poor guy into a killer. Not in this case!

Gregory Harrison normally plays a bad guy or a killer in most of the made-for-TV movies he's been in. It's weird to see him portray a protagonist character for once. It was strange, but definitely good. > )

At the end, I couldn't help thinking about what it must have felt like to be Winnie Marshall, Lucas' and Cat's daughter. She went on a sailing date with Simon, and wore only her bathing suit once she was out of her father's sight. She obviously finds him sexy and attractive. Even girls that age don't flirt with just anybody... well, maybe some do. (I was always too picky and never really boy-crazy.) Then, it turns out that Simon's her half-brother. Eww! I don't think that any amount of showers could wash that feeling off her... poor girl! And the fact that he knew she was his sister makes it that much worse.

If you'd like to discuss this or any other movie, please feel free to e-mail me. God bless you!

Great Murder-Mystery
7 May 2003
This is definitely one of the best made-for-TV movies out there. "Her Married Lover" is a wonderful movie for anyone who's in the mood for a good old-fashioned murder-mystery, with a modern, sophisticated feel to it. I would definitely recommend this movie, and I give it a 9 out of 10 stars. Please e-mail me if you'd like to discuss this or any movie!

Seductive
7 May 2003
Warning: Spoilers
Small Spoilers I really enjoyed this movie. I'm a Christian, and I believe that extramarital affairs are sinful. I like the fact that this movie gave consequences for those actions. There are actually not very many people in this movie. But attention girls: hot guy alert! Although David Charvet hasn't been in many movies and is apparently better-known in France for his music, he's a cutie, and his job with his character is superb. I will say, though, that this movie is thoroughly unbelievable. It could happen, but I doubt it ever would. I think this movie has that trying-too-hard feeling to it. The music is overly spooky; the rainy-thunderstorm-nights happen all too often; the eerie darkness comes fairly often. Otherwise, this movie is good. I give it a 9 out of 10 stars. Please e-mail me if you'd like to discuss this or other movies.

The Deliverance of Elaine (1996 TV Movie)
6/10
Pretty Weird
5 May 2003
Warning: Spoilers
****Mild Spoilers!****

This movie starts out pretty well, and right up until the end, I had enjoyed it. The movie is mysterious throughout, with wonderful twists and turns. While "The Deliverance of Elaine" may not have the best-looking actors and actresses in it (Sorry....I'm just stating my opinion) or wonderful acting, the story line speaks for itself. However, I was completely confused by the ending. Somehow, Elaine ends up entangled with Charlie, almost loving him, it seems. That's just crazy! He's crazy, and then he kills her dad. Not only does she not seem angry at him, this seems to pull the two together even more. I don't recommend this movie.

What a Waste of Time!
4 May 2003
I don't particularly like Sharon Lawrence, but I thought I'd give it a try... I rarely miss a Lifetime movie! Brian Austin Green has been in a bunch of Lifetime movies, and while they may not exactly be box-office thrillers, they're usually not bad, either. But this movie is exactly that ... bad. I cannot believe that I wasted two hours of my life sitting through this movie. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it never did. I definitely would not recommend this movie to anyone. You can certainly find something better to do with 2 hours ... even if it's staring at a wall! Feel free to e-mail me to discuss movies any time.

Hilarious!
19 April 2003
This movie is absolutely hilarious, which is to be expected, with Adam Sandler starring in it. Sometimes previews give away the entire plot line, as well as all of the good jokes, in comedies. I hate when that happens ... I feel like it's a waste of my time and my money. This movie is different, however. Yes, the previews make the movie look great. But that's because it is! Feel free to e-mail me to discuss this or other movies!

Billy Madison (1995)
10/10
A 'Perfect' Comedy
23 March 2003
As far as a comedy goes, I give this movie a perfect score...10 out of 10. I have to admit, I am a bit prejudiced, since I am an Adam Sandler fan. I normally don't like "dumb" comedy, but I like that he can be funny without being dirty and sinful and cussing as much as some other comics do. (I am a Christian, and I find those sorts of things offensive.) This movie is childish, but you fall in love with Billy's ability to speak to children; to get through to them and help them. This movie has a "Big Daddy" feel to it. (I also enjoyed that movie.) Bridgette Wilson is a wonderful actress, and she's as beautiful as ever in this movie. She and Sandler are wonderfully coupled in "Billy Madison." This movie is a must-see for anyone who needs a laugh ... or two.

A Wonderfully Creative Movie
26 December 2002
Since this movie came out in 1997, it has aired at least once a year, and I have yet to miss it. It's just that good! This is one of my favorite movies... Christmas or otherwise. Mimi Rogers gives an incredible performance. This is a feel-good movie. The writers of "The Christmas List" are incredibly creative. This movie just fits together wonderfully. I absolutely recommend this movie.

A Feel-Good Christmas Flick
25 December 2002
This movie is simply wonderful! Cynthia Gibb and John Schneider work well together. Jenna Boyd is a terrific actress, and I have a feeling that her career is just going to take off! This film is a great, feel-good Christmas flick. It's not one of those ordinary, could-never-happen-in-a-million-years stories, because stranger things have happened. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who's in a Christmas-ey mood.

A Not-So-High Recommendation
25 December 2002
Although this is a good movie, it's not one of my favorites. It's very cute. However, the whole idea of Santa Claus sending angels to Earth bothers me. I'm Catholic, so I know that GOD is the One who send angels to look over us. If you get past that idea, the movie is pretty good. It never really gets going though. You keep waiting for something to happen, but it never does. I wouldn't recommend this movie unless you have a whole lot of time on your hands and have absolutely nothing else to do.

The Patriot (2000)
10/10
Proud to be an American
25 December 2002
This movie is simply incredible! To all those people who look for all the mistakes in the movie, both historically and in the story line, I say you have too much time on your hands....WAY too much time on your hands. Give it a break. This film is supposed to be fairly accurate, but not completely, because you have to add the element of drama to the history to make a movie. This movie is meant to evoke emotion, and in me, it does just that. The gorgeous and talented Heath Ledger gives an outstanding performance, as does the insatiable Mel Gibson and so many others in the fabulous cast of this movie. This movie is fairly gory, and while at first glance, I'd be "grossed out" and not want to watch the movie any further, this is a great thematic element. It makes you truly feel for the soldiers and think about how much is lost in each and every battle, in every war. It makes you appreciate more greatly what so many men and women have given of themselves so that we, as Americans, can be free. For all those critics out there who say this movie is unpatriotic, you couldn't be any more wrong. This movie makes you feel proud to be an American, which is exactly what the moviemakers set out to do with this one (other than make a few bucks!). That's the very essence of patriotism.

Not Overly Christmas-ey, But Still A Great Movie
25 December 2002
Warning: Spoilers
**Possible Spoiler Alert!!**

I must begin by saying I can't truly be impartial, because I am a Connie Selleca fan. This is just a great movie! What can I say about this? Reconnected love, the chance at a new life, hey...even an adoption along the way! I think this is a great movie to watch, and although some of it occurs at Christmastime, I wouldn't exactly call this movie a Christmas movie. I really enjoy this movie, and I bet you will too! Just check it out sometime.

A Truly Enjoyable Christmas Movie
25 December 2002
This is absolutely one of my all-time favorite movies. Ever since it came out in 1997, "On the 2nd Day of Christmas" has aired on television every year, and I have yet to miss it. It's such a great movie. Mary Stuart Masterson and Mark Ruffalo have such a great chemistry on-screen. It's a cute storyline and a truly enjoyable film. This one's a definite must-see!

A Heartwrenching Tearjerker

This is an incredible movie, and the fact that it's a true story will blow you away. Jamie Lee Curtis gives yet another stellar performance, but this time in a motherly role. The casting directors chose the cutest kids for this film! This is a heartwrenching, tearjerking, wonderful movie that you truly have to see to believe.

Surprises Galore
19 December 2002
I was expecting a normal, everyday Jane Seymore movie....happy-go-lucky, fun, great movie. I guess I expected wrong. You have to be prepared for a fairly sad movie throughout, before sitting down to watch this one. I thought it would get better, but the "Happy Ending" thing happened within the last five minutes of the movie. It's a bit of a disappointment, but it's still a good movie. There are a few surprises along the way. Maggie Lawson, who plays Seymore's daughter, is great. I felt myself relating to her. Her character is wonderful. She's the brightness of this movie.

Boring Yet Enjoyable
15 December 2002
While this is a good movie, you could do much better. I was excited to see "Panic Room," but the theatrical trailers were better than the actual movie. You'll be a bit bored watching this, but enjoy it all the same. Any fans of Jodie Foster won't see her at her best in this one, but she didn't do badly. Check it out, but buyer beware: boredom ensues.

Enjoyable Unbelievable Film

This movie is just that ... a movie. If you're one of those people who watches movies in disbelief, this is not the choice pick for you. Is "This could never happen" your motto? Then don't check this one out. It's a good movie, that's for sure. But it's unrealistic. It's a good, old-fashioned, made-for-TV movie.

Unpredictable Comedy
15 December 2002
I definitely didn't know what I was in for when I sat down with this movie. The humor is a bit sick at times. The things that happen in this movie won't exactly keep you on the edge of your seat, but you'll still be pretty surprised fairly often. This isn't a movie I'd rent, but it's a good TV movie.

Incredible Movie, Incredible Reality
15 December 2002
I truly enjoyed this movie. It's absolutely unbelievable that this actually happened! As you sit watching the movie, you place yourself in the characters' places and wondering what you would do if this terrible story was happening to you. There's only so much that the police can do ... there's only so much that anyone can do. You never know who's living next-door. You can never tell who's psychotic or who has a few screws loose, and that's scary. This is a definite must-see for any diehard Lifetime viewer.

Sins of the Mind (1997 TV Movie)

Not Exactly R-Rated
6 December 2002
After I saw "Sins of the Mind" on Lifetime, I checked out the summary on imdb.com. I saw that when the movie was released, it was rated R. Now either someone cut out all the bad parts so this movie could be on TV, or the people who rate movies weren't paying much attention. I am Christian, so I don't watch rated-R movies. This movie wasn't as dirty or sinful as all the reviews say....at least not once it's on TV. This movie is sad, because you, the viewer, are sitting there watching someone battle an illness; an addiction, and instead of being understanding, you know that people are going to think this girl is just insane or sinful. She simply couldn't control herself; she couldn't control that part of her brain. The movie gets going pretty fast, and it's pretty good throughout, and then the ending is really not final. It kind of just ends, which is a disappointment. But I still recommend this movie to anyone who is a frequent Lifetime TV viewer.... a Lifetime movie is exactly what you're in for.

Trail of Tears (1995 TV Movie)

This One'll Wow 'Ya
6 December 2002
This movie is great! It is such a heartbreaking-turned-heartwarming film. At the end, you, the viewer, say to yourself, "Okay, this movie is 2 hours long...you guys have five minutes to wrap it up. Okay....how is this going to be finished in four minutes? ... All right, this ending is going to be pretty abrupt, since they only have 3 minutes to go." But it's anything but that! The ending is short, but so incredible. (I'm not saying it's a happy ending, but I'm not saying it's a bad one either. You'll just have to watch and see.) It's absolutely unbelievable to me, that something like this (the subject of the film) could actually ever happen. I guess that's why it's shown on Lifetime TV. But unlike some other Lifetime movies, well, maybe MOST Lifetime movies, this movie doesn't fall hard on the police. Too many movies show how little the police do; how terrible they are. Sometimes this is the case. But I think that police do a lot of good, and sometimes there's only so much they can do. I like the fact that this movie doesn't focus on the police, but on the people to whom these things are happening to. Speaking of which, the casting directors did a great job in picking just the right actors and actresses for this film. They fit their parts and do a fantastic job. The four children focused on, are absolutely adorable, and great actors. This movie is wonderful, and I truly suggest any movie-lover check this one out. You won't be disappointed.
