The Boston Unbombing (2016 Video)
9/10
Over 3 hours docomentary as such - but worth the viewing time
18 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This looks at the Boston Marathon bombing of 2013 in which it clearly shows this was not a 'real' event - but simply a mock event, with pyrotechnics for an explosion, and crisis actors playing the victims. The main evidence is from two camera locations high up in nearby buildings which oversaw the event taking place. Mainly stills are used - with some video. While a casual observer may not agree with some of the fine details mentioned - the overall effect is clear to see - that this is not a real event. Sure in the video - you do see that the flags wave in the wind, at the time of the pyrotechnics was lit - but you do not see nearby windows that should have been broken - had it been a real explosion - nor of a 'crater' area where someone lost their legs? There is the absence of a lot of blood loss there. That Obama did not question the lie - shows how little Presidents do know of major events. Also why do the mass media not question the anomalies present - which indicate this was not a real event/ This is a brilliant expose that presents information concisely and clearly for anyone who's willing to see with their own eyes the photographic and video evidence available.

There are other major events - like this - but bigger - that show the same kind of set up - and false story given to the world - to make us fear Islamic terrorists - who did not orchestrate the events they are blamed for. Not all such events are 'fake' - but certain key ones - have all the hallmarks they are. There is some mention of these - at the end.

Sense8 (2015–2018)
Same old Same old - in the background/backdrop it's the same.
28 March 2018
Warning: Spoilers
While there are many pluses to this SF/psychic series that seems refreshing at first - in which patience is required of the viewer from it's very start - that it's only after 3 or so parts are required viewing to get an idea of where this series is going and why, etc.

It's still the same old, same old presentation / use of violence that is dead stale and boring - and is indicative of how the view on violence is misaligned in today's so-called 'modern society' - in which we remain very primitive and backward with our ideals and concepts etc etc.

Hollywood does the same old same old - as well as independent studios etc who can't see the wood beyond the trees - that the use of violence is not OK - and is never OK at all. Sense8 is still the typical good versus evil kind of show in which violence is used to settle who does end up winning in the end.

Hey views and film-TV makers alike - this is not a realistic view about violence. Do we like violence? NO. We do not. Do we like to see action? YES. If morals are to be paraded out in front for all to see - then use values that matter - that are true and proper. That we are 'human beings' with feelings, emotions, spirit, etc etc - that we are all the same - yes - even though we may appear different at first - with different cultures, mode of dress, etc etc.

It's like that production companies are brain dead as regards - lack of creativity and insight, etc etc. Though it's still entertainment as such - and material in which nothing much happens is not this particular audience wants - but still within the action/SF/psychic format - you can still use 'action' as such - but that in the usual fight or flight situation the actor(s) are place within - they must choose flight first always - as the best course of action to take - and when forced into fighting - to choose then non-lethal means and end result - if they are so-called 'good' characters - with morals. The bad/evil doers - of course disregard morals and any sensible code at all.

The lesson of violence is very simple. You cannot stop violence with violence - ever - because this merely continues the use of violence. The violence (murder and killing) will never stop. You have to change peoples' attitudes towards violence. Like - that with wars - it's always no good to take part in any wars anymore. Enough is enough. Learn from all past wars - to never repeat them - because they were always in the wrong - a complete waste of human lives, resources, etc etc. Wars were never OK. Especially foreign wars. Because wars have been normalised - and seen to be acceptable - does not mean it is OK. Public opinion must change - or wars will always continue and bring misery to all those directly affected by it. There are no winners to any war. Ever. Just look at WW2 history - and those countries defeated back then - today... If we don't learn the lesson - we will always repeat it over again and again - until the lesson is truly learned.

And we don't want mad fans of any violent movie or TV program etc acting it all out in real life - just because they think it is so cool to do it in real life.

Sense8 could have been a lot better in what it is/was - the makers have to be critical of their own work - to see how much better it could have been - if only they entertained more common sense within it?

It's nice to see it embracing people from various walks of life in different countries/cultures and gives us a glimpse of their lives - now if only had they expanded their view on violence - and turned their back on the conventional Hollywood view on violence and given us some new thoughts on it instead. How much more powerful this series could have been - if it contained such enlightened views that violence is not OK in real lives, etc etc.

Star Raiders (1979 Video Game)

Star Raiders - Atari's first killer app
4 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
For many computer buyers of the early 80s' - Star Raiders showed off what the Atari 400/800 home computers could do - with this real time 3D space simulation of the classic Star Trek computer game - done with 3D graphics - all in 8K. This is a very important video game as regards the timeline of the 80s' home computers - it was available at the launch of the Atari 400 and Atari 800 home computers in 1979/1980 in which 8K videogames was thought to be the limit, in which memory was expensive - but within a couple of years - 16K became the accepted minimum. The game features the use of the keyboard to turn on/off various features - such as shields, computer, hyperwarp, map display, long range scan and what sublight speed you'd like to be travelling at. And you have front and rear views with which you can fire photons from. The numbers on screen are important - and it's a semi-realistic simulation given the time in which this was programmed. (Spoiler Alert) - you'll eventually end up with this kind of situation to be in.... That with a battle damaged craft - you seek repairs at the nearest starbase (which you are defending - one of several in this sector) - your computer is partially damaged - but you hyperwarp to it's position - and as you come within close range, you then switch to long range scan - and gingerly line up to the starbase (via 2 axis of control available to you) - change to forward view and peer intently hoping to spot the starbase as a distant speck - one light seems to stand out, and so you edge close to it - hopeful to be rewarded to seeing it grow closer and closer - otherwise you'll have to repeat the above with a better result?

There is real depth to this game - and it's worthwhile to read through the instructions and get familiar with the on screen panel figures, and the keyboard options. There was no equivalent on any other competing home computer system - with a game of this caliber. Sure - the BBC/etc got their Elite game - which can be called a Star Raiders game with extras thrown in. But Star Raiders got there first - without the trading/etc aspects to it. For those without the original old hardware - you can still re-experience this - as if using that hardware, by running the excellent Windows Atari 400/800 emulator - Altirra - and download the Star Raiders ROM from any number of Atari archive sites such as Atarimania, Fandal, Atariage and others... Also there are other Atari emulators for Mac, Android, etc.

One documentary about the Great Pyramid - not to miss ...
4 July 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Contains spoiler(s). There seems to be 2 English versions of this documentary - with the male one being the most widely available? The woman narration has been pointed out as being the more authentic - but I haven't done a close analysis to see why is this one better?

I can imagine that they don't differ widely in the general presentation given - to bring to light what measurements are contained within the Great Pyramid, and how important the Sphinx is, tied to the Great Pyramid.

This is a must view documentary for anyone intrigued by the Great Pyramid and wish to know more about it. It is of course the most baffling monument from antiquity - though it's high precision can be linked to others - of the same exactness and age?

What can be confirmed - is that diorite stone pounders and copper chisels were not used to carve, shape and assemble precision fitting stones together - without mortar - then, how did they do it?

This documentary does not provide answers as to how did they do it? Except to say that current explanations given by egyptologists are thoroughly inadequate.

Hopefully this and other such documentaries will encourage further research into this puzzles - which need adequate explanation - which should help fill in the missing gap of human history that we know so little about. That mankind is of the order of millions of years old, but we can only go back to around 12,000 or less years of human history - that the further back we go - the less we know ...

It is better to disregard the Bible and of Christianity, etc - they are of no help to clear up our missing history. In that all cultures and their histories are as important as any other to help fill in the gaps - and to not rely upon one source/explanation alone - to tell the whole story. The Bible and Christianity are so overrated - and I personally think they are wildly inaccurate and unreliable for any information - the same for all religious sources - that you cannot rely on them alone to give you clear facts or information. But I don't disregard them completely - as they have their own story to tell one day - when the truth about religions be told - one day - perhaps?

Worthwhile viewing - if you have an open mind?
9 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
"The Pyramid Code" - will appeal to those who are already aligned/agree with this kind of material, and the negative reviews, shows those who are not.

It boils down to whether you have an open mind, and are willing to accept and investigate new information, that comes to light - or that your mind is closed, and you have accepted what you have been told, and will not change that view.

Those who believe in the Christian view, that civilisation only goes back 6,000 years - and that talk of ancient ancient civilisations which go back to 12,000, 20,000 or even 40,000 years is ridiculous - will not like The Pyramid Code at all.

You can liken "The Pyramid Code" - to the "Ancient Aliens" documentary series. That it will present facts to you, that may never heard of before? Like the first pyramid at Abu Rowash - which is a huge sunken pit, and of large sculptured pieces/bases of quartz - that it will present new information to you. And it is easy to agree in principle to the main ideas presented, however - like Ancient Aliens, you may not be convinced about the exact ideas presented to it's minutest detail - but will admit to it's possibility amongst others...

For those who can't journey to the various sites presented - "The Pyramid Code" is a welcomed journey to places you could never journey to - and it makes it very clear - that there are megalithic sites around the world - in which it's people have gone over and beyond, in creating something that will stand the test of time - and the question is always - why did they go to extreme lengths to do this, and what is their message in it? It was nice to know that there is a link between the Egyptians and the ancient Mayans - and the matter is cleared up about the 2012 nonsense - that it is not about the end of the world, as such. There are some very interesting ideas presented in this series - that are worthwhile entertaining.

The best pyramid documentary to date - would have to be National Geographic's "Unlocking the Great Pyramid" in which a French architect advances three new ideas, and sees if there is the evidence to support them - within the Great Pyramid.

If you want to know more, and to try getting closer to the truth - I do recommend the Billy Meier / Plejaren material - which takes you further into way out territory - but I feel you have to go there, because you don't get satisfactory answers nor suitable explanations coming from our so-called authoritative sources/establishments. If you already think that world religions misdirect the world onto erroneous paths, and our political systems are likewise corrupted and ineffective - and while science is more genuine than any of these, in being truthful to us - science still has a lot to learn, and it has to also admit/own up to it's own faults and misfired theories, etc etc then, you should find the Billy Meier material refreshing, with valid ideas presented - that are worthwhile studying.

Watching this for the first time..
17 April 2011
I am not familiar with the Japanese anime movies - and this seems to be one of the classics of this genre, and so I thought I would finally get around to watching this particular movie - the subtitled English version.

The art style and animation does stand out as being something special and well executed. However the storyline line - and ending, is not something I would say would impress me. I did not understand the ending and later part of this movie. I probably didn't understand the movie at all, with the way events unfolded in this movie. It lacked the cohesiveness of a Miyazaki movie - of which I have seen all of his movies released in the west.

I have mixed feelings about this movie - I wanted to like it, but it simply did not jell together for me. I guess I lost the storyline and any kind of purpose it wanted to impress me with...

An OK Modesty movie that will do in the meantime....
21 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I have read all of the Modesty books a long time ago, and liked them better than the Ian Flemming James Bond books. This movie is of course better than the one made in the 60s' - which I saw at that time (I read the books later on).

I did read some of the reviews here, before viewing this fairly recent movie adaption - and I was prepared for a less than stellar movie treatment of Modesty Blaise. However I was pleasantly surprised at how viewable this movie is. I was not expecting a full action movie treatment - for such an action packed character - but when the action sequence did come, it did not disappoint me much.

I thought Alexandra Staden did a reasonable effort at portraying Modesty Blaise - and overall I felt this was a reasonable effort at recreating the Modesty Blaise mystique via the cinema. I do hope that Modesty Blaise will get the full movie series treatment it deserves. I'm sure it can outdo James Bond any day when no expense is spared on it - this smaller scale movie will do in the meantime to show it does have the potential to be much much more. I just hope that a suitable actor will fill Modesty Blaise shoes who is prepared to play the same role time and time again...

A very violent movie - not for the squeamish
19 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This story takes place at a time in which the English were at war with the French, when early settlers were colonising America. It does open with a peaceful and harmonious scene - while the rest of the movie is largely action with horrific elements present (depicting all too accurately what happens with peoples are at war with one another) - with a little romance thrown in.

It is certainly not a family movie, nor one for small children - even some late teens may find the realistic violence too distasteful perhaps? It is a beautifully crafted movie, that perhaps follow the traditional Hollywood treatment too closely. Your heartstrings will get pulled certainly as you care about the characters in this story - as their situation goes from bad to worse.

It is certainly a movie worth watching - in spite of the violence and gore - and is a clear reminder of how difficult it is when cultures and countries clash.

Excellent Introduction to the Billy Meier UFO Contactee story
31 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Let us say that you are on a search for what truth there is in this world, and a reasonable explanation for this reality. Well, the Billy Meier information - is a good resource of information, which will provide you with food for thought, with no red herrings included (that which religions tend to provide you with - red herrings aplenty, with little substenance included.

Some people will say - Oh, the Billy Meier story is a hoax and a fraud. It is not genuine - because if UFOs/ETs were real - then, they would contact our world governments and have open contact with us, etc etc. If you believe governments and politicians were honest and genuine, and do not hold information back from the public, etc etc - then you may think this way? However, if you regard the world's governments and politicians to be corrupt - the same with world religions, etc etc - you would know that they serve themselves first, and only put on a fascade, as to pretend that they serve the people, with their concern for the public good.

And really that is the central issue, which will determine what side you align yourself with.

My reason for accepting the Billy Meier material, as food for thought - is that I am already thinking along these lines already. For example - that we cannot be the only advanced civilisation in this universe, that there must be other civilisations out there - some will be primitive compared to us, some similar to our technology, etc etc and also many? that would be far more advanced than we can ever be. Meaning also that we have been visited by aliens / ETs / UFOs in our ancient past (eg. There would be references in the Bible and the Koran, which indicate this is so), our recent past (eg. during WW2 and around the 1880s') - our present - and also in our future.

Please note - this DVD presentation has only brief references to the Talmud Jmmanuel (the real story about Jesus) material. That is a whole different area - that is in itself mind boggling to get to know about, and it does not cover the recent release of the English translation of 'The Goblet of Truth' material.

It should be noted that - Billy Meier does not seek fame, money or prestige, etc etc for releasing this information to the world - but that this is a task he was born to do here. He does not drive around in luxury cars, nor live luxuriously - and he should not be compared to people the like of Sai Baba. There is no denying that the Billy Meier story borders on the fantastic - like science fiction, but any visionary has foretold what was to come later - accurately. I think the DVD provides food for thought, and will make people aware of the things to come....

Avatar (2009)

Avatar - a movie that cross overs it's genre - Science Fiction
21 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Avatar is a very rare movie, in that it sets the bar very high for future productions of this kind - using new technologies to bring alive a world that would only lie in the imagination. Enough praise cannot be given to James Cameron, in not only having an interesting storyline, but also to foresee what is required in the technology to make it truly come alive, so that a cinematic audience to take part in this very unusual and far flung fantasy world.

I have only seen the 2D movie - and have not experienced the full 3D version - which I probably never will, until 3D home television reaches the masses in an affordable version, that almost anyone can buy into - which would be around 2013-2015? What the technology can do, since Avatar - is to bring the past, present or future fully alive in true 3D glory, if there is a mega budget to finance it. Consider say - a re-enactment of what happened during 9-11, whether you produce a movie that ties to the Bush administration scenario, or one that takes to heart the conspiracy that surrounds 9-11 (by the US government officials) - it may be possible to bring it fully alive to the movie theatre screen. Of course I don't expect such a production to be made - to a story that is far bigger than the Kennedy Assassination. But any recreation of any conspiracy story can be made, in intricate detail - past, present or future.

Anyway Avatar is an amazing movie on so many different levels. We have had movies before that deal with - What is consciousness, What is being human all about - such as in "Altered States", "Brainstorm" and "Strange Days - "Avatar" carries on with this theme in it's unique way.

The science fiction elements remain in the background - the backdrop - and perhaps it is as much "Fantasy" as "Science Fiction" - with a wonderful heart, that deals/connects with our hearts and emotions as well. It of course deals with a native race, and a virgin world - in which humans invade and wish to take over, and so it is a Cowboys versus the Indians kind of movie, giving it a familiar feel - that the old is new again, dressed up in new clothes, with the same old themes present.

A Follow up to "The Tuxedo" somewhat
10 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This is in much of a similar vein to the previous "The Tuxedo" Jackie Chan spy movie - though it is not an immediate followup/continuation of it. A Jackie Chan kids spy movie says it all - just don't expect it to reach the heights of the first "Spykids" movie, or at the same level as "The Tuxedo". It is a pleasant enough movie experience - and for me, there was not the kind of feeling of it not gelling together - it does, surprisingly well come together as an entertaining lightweight movie. In the absence of a new "Charlie's Angels" movie - and it does not reach new lows such as "Johnny English".

Jackie Chan is ageing well in this movie - at least he seems to fit into this role, and is not teamed up with a female, so much younger than himself.

Anyway this is good entertaining movie, that serves well as an intro to Jackie Chan - and is more together as a movie, than his "Rush Hour 2" and "Rush Hour 3" - newcomers to Jackie Chan, might want to see his earlier, more action packed movies, that were made before this one.

A Tearjerker action story
5 July 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This movie reminds me somewhat of "The Silent Flute" - while that was a martial arts story of an international flavour - which is set anywhere in the world, this particular movie "Forbidden Warrior" is a Chinese Eastern story which features various European actors in supporting roles - being a French or International funded movie, it seemed to suffer from a clause in which European actors must be used in a supporting role - otherwise there is no sense or reason to have them there, otherwise.

I will add a spoiler - in that this movie does draw at your emotional heart strings with full orchestral score. I don't think it is suitable for a young audience because of this. People do die in this story - major characters and minor.

I personally liked this story more than "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and while the fight scenes are not as good as in that movie - they are still of a high enough standard, unlike some other international movies with a martial arts touch -whose fighting standards were lower.

This is a Good versus Evil mythical story - and it is about fighting and conflict - universal theme with a touch of romance.

I did feel that the movie fell short - in not having a final confrontation with the evil ruler - that I half expected a confrontation scene with the heroine and evil ruler that never happened. That would have brought the story full circle with a more complete closure - but perhaps too Hollywood? I found that I did not enjoy the early part of the movie because of the oddness that is present in it - that once you accept that this is an International flavoured movie set say in Ancient China, you then more readily accept the presentation. Just like with Jackie Chan in "The Spy Next Door" - it is a good story, on different levels.

Jesus in India - an OK documentary
15 May 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Note - this contains a spoiler - so do not read any further - if you wish to encounter the material first hand, via the documentary itself.

This is not a definitive or outstanding documentary about the topic of Jesus travelling to India - but it is a good start or a good introduction to this subject. Jesus was said to have been in India at two periods in his life - that in his youth, to see the world - and also after the crucifixion, in which he survived and had to flee for fear of his life.

Don't expect too much from this particular documentary - but it can serve as a good starting point to look at the other sources available.

Other material covering this same subject are the British documentaries - "Did Jesus Die?" (This follows a couple of red herrings - leads that go nowhere but it covers the Kashmir connection), and "The Hidden Story of Jesus", which are worthwhile viewing.

Note - this particular documentary does not cover the Billy Meier / Talmud Jmmanuel text connection - which is even more controversial than what I have mentioned here. And yes - Ed T Martin's views agrees with the Billy Meier Talmud Jmmanuel text, although that is not mentioned in this documenary.
