The Office (2005)
Some people seriously need to get over themselves
What, did all you lovers of the original show (and all things Brit) get together and see just how dreadful a review you could come up with? This rightly smacks as some sort of smear campaign. I don't think I've ever come across such passionately written drivel meant to trash a particular show in my entire life! This show, particularly the second episode, had me and my wife laughing from the start. After watching the pilot episode, we let a lot of our friends know how funny it was and to be sure and catch the second episode. After the airing of the second episode (in which we both literally hurt from laughing so hard), our phone was ringing off of the hook from everybody we told to watch it thanking us for telling them about the show.
This show deserves far better than the utter malicious crap that is being spread out there by a sad small group of malcontents who love for nothing better to do than to slam all things American. You all make me sick. All of your petty efforts are going to be in vain, I'm afraid. This show is going to make it.
A Little Princess (1995)
A wonderful little movie you might have missed
Just before seeing this movie, I wasn't expecting much. There just wasn't anything else on TV, and this was just beginning, so I decided to give it a chance. It wasn't very long in before I began to realize that this wasn't just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill, by-the-numbers production. First of all, the movie, with all of the obvious attention to the sets and costume design and how it was photographed, just look absolutely beautiful. Then, the acting is simply superb by everybody, and not just the principal performers. Alfonso Cuaron (who was later tabbed to direct the 3rd Harry Potter movie, really showed his stuff in this film, which in my opinion was largely overlooked, as I don't remember a whole lot of publicity being done when it was first released, which is a shame, because a lot of effort went into making this such a good movie. Equally appealing to kids and adults alike, which is pretty rare as well. Highly recommended!
The Incredibles (2004)
Pixar amazingly outdoes itself once again!
"The Incredibles" is like nothing ever seen before on screen. Right before seeing it, I knew it would be good, (C'mon, it's a Pixar movie!), I just had no idea it would be THIS good! I didn't want it to end. The visuals alone are breathtaking, but the story and characters are what make this movie so great. I mean, Pixar nailed EVERYTHING on this movie. I can't keep from raving about it to everyone I know! Aside from seeing "Star Wars" when I was 9 years old, "The Incredibles" is the best movie experience I've had since then. It is that good. You have to go see this movie in the theater, do not wait until the DVD comes out, YOU MUST SEE IT NOW and then still buy the DVD later! Thank you, Pixar, for doing what you do so well! You are the best thing to happen to movies in a long time!
