Better than 8 Mile.
9 December 2005
Well, watching Terrence Howard is always fun. Because, I think, he is one of the best actors in the entertainment business today. And, Curtis Jackson tries hard to work his acting skills, with his first official steps. However, his actions may look dull -- or overreacted to you. Be patient, it is his first time, and practice may make him better. Or, not. Well, we'll see.

The plot is very similar to Curtis Jackson's own personal history. Thus, fans would appreciate it. Others, may also enjoy the plot, since it does not contain a story, which is "unreal" to us. We may sympathize with the characters, since we all witness how they struggle to earn a living. Even if we do not believe that Curtis Jackson has had the experience, we all know that there're some people out there, who have.

Just For Fans..Not for me!..
5 October 2005
Even though I don't really like films about "Casanovas", I just wanted to see how Jude Law would be acting in such a film. So, I decided to get a Divx version of it, and watch it on my personal computer. On the cover of movie poster, there is a statement, which goes like this: Meet a man who never met a women he didn't love.

But while watching it, I quickly noticed that that words were not true at all. Alfie is a man, who does simple things to please women in order to get them in bed, or get them treat him in such a good way. And, in almost every scene of the film, he gives some sort of advise to us, the viewers. Yet, at the end of the day, the cocky boy Alfie messes up and feels sorry for the mistakes he has made.

The film is boring, and I think only Jude Law fans will enjoy it, because its all about Jude being Alfie and you can hardly see a scene without his face showing up.

Being God...
15 April 2005
"Bruce Almighty" is an amusing film, which is all about a man, who basically has terrible luck in everything he does. Everyday.

Produced by T.Shadyac, the cast includes Jim Carrey as Bruce Nolan, Jennifer Aniston as Bruce Nolan's girlfriend Grace, and Academy Award Winner Morgan Freeman as God. One must say it's a darn good cast.

The story begins with Bruce Nolan's daily routines. He doesn't enjoy his job, at a television channel's studio. Suddenly, someone retires from "Live News", and Bruce's dreams come closer. -- He passionately wants to replace him, as a new caster. All he wants to do is representing the show, and become famous around the city. But he has no luck! He couldn't be promoted. On the other hand, he starts fighting with his girlfriend, and tries to cope with his pet. Even his dog doesn't listen to him. Thus, he decides to talk to God, and tell him his troubles. Finally, and miraculously he manages to have a conversation with God. After that incredible event, Bruce gains some powers to rule the whole world for only 24 hours.

The film is definitely full of funny moments, and you can also see some special effects such as; running through the sea, organizing the moon and stars, hearing the prayers of people all around the world.

The cast is good, as I've pointed out before, actors give a superb performance, and the special effects are entertaining. So, I highly recommend it.

Collateral (2004)

Foxx can't avoid the movie from cliché
22 March 2005
Having watched the incredible Foxx as Ray in one of my all time favourite films, I didn't hesitate to watch his performance in Collateral.

What happens when a hardhearted contact killer (Tom Cruise as Vincent) hijacts an ordinary cab driver (Jamie Foxx as Max)?Basically, the film evolves around this topic. While watching the action, if you're one of the few "movie buffs", who cares less about the details, you'll probably enjoy Foxx's acting skills, shown on your screen.

This is definitely an ordinary action film, which has nothing new to surprise, or thrill you. Unless you like seeing a talented rising star's steps, stay away.

Boring...
19 December 2004
"Glengarry Glenrose" is based on a Pulitzer-winner play, that's why I had been expecting a very good film adaptation, before I rented the DVD. Unfortunately, it was kind of a disappointment to me.

The film has a great cast, full of well-known and talented actors such as; AL PACINO, K. Spacey, J. Lemmon and A. Baldwin with a short performance. But no matter how hard they try, it couldn't help this film.

I have no problem with the film set. I think, a film is suppose to entertain me as it belongs to the entertainment business. But this one fails to do that.

Also, when I heard some people say that the film, has a great deal of meaningful words, mostly spoken by Alec Baldwin's character, I was surprised. Because, he abuses and curses again and again, almost every second, he participates in the film.

Well, the film is not really my cup of tea, but if you're only interested in Jack Lemmon's good acting, you should give it a chance.

People I Know (2002)

Not a good movie...
5 December 2004
Firstly, I must clearly claim that this is not a good film. And, I would never watch it, if Pacino wasn't in it.

It is about a publicist's strange 24 hours. And, he is overworked, dizzy, sick, and sometimes regretful. I don't like the character at all. It's really boring; after 20 minutes, you may fall asleep. On the other hand, I don't understand why Pacino wanted to be a part of this horrible film. Just because of cash -- or what?

Since I'm an avid Pacino fan, I bought this 2002 film "People I Know". If you haven't bought it yet, don't even think about it, it's just a waste of time.

A film about love
14 October 2004
While I was browsing for films, in a shop, I found "Frankie and Johnny", and I got pretty excited when I saw Al and Michelle together on the cover. Yes,it must be something good, I thought. Then,I bought it immediately and watched it as soon as possible.

The plot contains interesting characters, such as; the boy, who never gives up talking to his girlfriend on the phone, a woman, who goes crazy about men, a weird woman, who likes talking to her pet etc. I must admit that I get really impressed when Johnny (Al) tells "love words", triying to explain his feelings to Frankie (Michelle). But she's too afraid to start a new relationship, all because of her bad experiences. She's afraid of being all alone, at the same time. She's crying a river almost every scene of the film -- it's a little bit boring. And, she seems to be rarely in the good mood to talk to. They sleep together, the man loves her so much(it's obvious) yet, somehow she treats him like a bad dog. (Just because her ex-boyfriend treated her like an animal?)

Finally, I recommend it to some, who loves watching films about love, and some, who want to see how Michelle throws something at Al's head.

Carlito's Way (1993)

One of the best Gangsters...
14 October 2004
One year after "Scent of a Woman", Al Pacino did a good job and brought Carlito Brigante to real life for us.

"Carlito's Way" is a film, that you may watch with your friends. You'll probably like watching this cool old gangster's every move, even his masculine face, covered with beard. I especially like the scenes, when Carlito Brigante and his pretty woman shout at each other -- blame his fate.

The film contains some crazy chasing, mad shooting scenes, and sometimes passionate and touching love scenes. However, it's obvious that Carlito Brigante, as a changed man, can't get out of mess whatever he tries. He doesn't want any trouble, but somehow trouble finds him. -- Well, you must see the whole film, to understand what I mean.

To summon up, I have to claim that, what we have here is a really good film, that I can watch again and again.
