I'm black and African; and i don't likeTyler Perry movies
15 February 2008
Warning: Spoilers
i would like to start by saying; going to movies was originally made so you could escape reality, that's why star wars and lord of the rings where such hits; if i need to identify with reality, there's reality TV i am hoping that one day a black man would make a movie so intriguing, mind boggling and mentally challenging that it would sell across all races. All i see in black movies is a myopic view of life, for godsake we have Korean's making a visually artistic movie called "D-War" i believe that our talents don't end with sports, singing, Sit-coms (no offense to friends) stand up comedy; we need to be more creative, explore the outer limits of life. i feel a guy like John Singleton could put together a water tight script that would hit the nail in the head.

mila jovovich what i'm i going to with you
15 February 2008
Warning: Spoilers
It hurts me every time i see a fringe artist trying to act (T.I, Common, Tyra Banks, Jessica Simpson)i mean it's bad enough we have to deal with these jokers every time a casting director tries to play politics by picking people from "the otherside" now we have models like 'Jojo'vich (who has nothing on Giselle Bunchen)who had to knock boots with directors just to get a role (Luke Beeson, Paul "i can't write scripts to save my life" Anderson) now Hollywood is actually thinking of making this bad excuse of an actress type cast as an action star; for the love of God! I believe you all saw the matrix, trinity was the epitome of women kicking ass (hollywood tried this before with Gena Davis which ended up as an abomination) OK so i watched no good deed which show cased his Excellencies Stellan skasgard and Samuel L. Jackson; Mila was invisible in this movie with her coarse voice and dead pan delivery, so i assumed Mila would crawl back to GAP or L'oreal to beg to be taken back, next thing you know.....she just signed up for more resident evil.....god.....the travesty. OK fine, Extinction was a bit better than the other two but for the love of god who in god's name is "Alice" and what is with the psychic powers (using her mind to torch the birds......typical) i have played every single resident evil VG released to date, there is no character by that name, please, please help save resident evil before it goes into extinction.

a summation of pure brilliance
14 February 2008
Warning: Spoilers
i would like to acknowledge the fact that i have not had the privilege of seeing a Danny Boyle movie; this movie brought something most movies of Sci/fi genre do not possess......real emotion. Don't get me wrong, i'm a die hard Star trek and Star wars fan but i feel those franchise coupled with any other Sci/fi thriller failed to deliver an emotional content that can ring in the audience, it may seem surprising to me that it didn't do well at the box office but then again most movies that are just plain interesting never exactly do well, no thanks to studio spin doctors and advertising hype (Golden Compass) trying to force the market into watching what is deemed as "Big budget movies" all in all kudos to Danny Boyle he gets an AA rating from me

to tell the truth i haven't read the book
26 March 2006
Warning: Spoilers
well to be honest with you i haven't read the novel and asuch can't make a clear conclusion on which is better but i can tell you this, the movie was off the hook; but what i didn't really get was during evey's staged torture, he couldn't have possibly staged the whole thing without some help from somebody else but that doesn't take away the ingenious of the wachoski brothers, the matrix trilogy was a brilliant concept worthy of a true genius and they delivered as always; to be honest with you this was a movie you would expect from M. Night shyamalan but why i'm glad he didn't think of doing it first was because of the crazy twist he puts in the plot, e.g Evey un masks a wounded V only to find out he's the preaching party leader....crap like that on that note i give it a big 10

Hannibal was the man
27 December 2004
the character Hannibal king was my favorite, he was so funny and hence added a comic-relief the last two installments couldn't produce, Jessica Biel's character was dry and in-animate, Blade was off the hook but the bad guy sucked. Let me get this straight, are the writers running out of bad guys or they are not just creative enough to invent one? a little piece of advice for the next installment, make a bad guy that is just like blade only stronger, so it will be worth anticipating. I also feel Guilleromo del Torro should be brought back to direct the next installment, i was over impressed with his work in Blade two. N'bush Wright should also be brought back i like her character, she should be the new whistler then Jack Black should be brought in for comic relief.

The Forgotten (2004)
Interesting twist
17 December 2004
I must say! This is a good movie, with a corny ending like A.I, it started off as a thriller and ended up a Sci-fi although the connection was a perfect blend. The Director made good use of the gaps created by the story to fuse the two genre's together. Dominic West is a new comer to the big screen (playing only minor roles in other movies) but his level of proffesionalism made him a wild card in this movie and he delivered. Just like how "two smoking barrels made jason Statham a big Hollywood actor, hope to see him in more movies. Julian Moore a veteran of the industry showed her dominance as always...much appreciated Julian. The only thing that didn't really make sense was her husband not being there in end. The story line should have taken them back before the abduction occurred so as to make the ending a happier one

Shark Tale (2004)
an off shoot of finding Nemo
3 December 2004
what can i say it would have been a good movie if it came out before finding Nemo but Nemo just overshadowed it, also Dreamworks should look to other investments cause Pixar rules Animation days of Disney dominance are more or less over, although i must say it's quite creative but lacks that real sense of humour found in Nemo, it was like watchimg reruns of a sitcom. Another factor that did not make this movie hit so much is competition, right now incredibles has carried whatever of those people that hadn't seen shark tale away from it cause to be honest was quite better in terms of story line and comic relief thumbs up to Robert Deniro as usual he made his presence known Will Smith performed averagely but generally the movie is okay

Suspect Zero (2004)
No real twister
22 November 2004
The movie is generally average, no real twister and the plot lacked the intensity found in movies like 'memento' and 'from hell'. I don't know if it's just me but Aaron Eckhart has had a bad stream of featuring in unsuccessful movies like 'the core' and 'paycheck' it seems he isn't breaking into roles that carry him into stardom. As for Carrie-Ann moss, well i knew that such a good film as the Matrix will over shadow her as an actress, no matter the role she plays all we see is trinity (without the tight leather pants) on the other hand Ben Kingsley delivered as usual showing his might as a Hollywood veteran although the role of Itzak stern will always be his most remembered in schindler's list all together i'll give this movie 4 for good concept but bad delivery.

super, super, cool now this is resident evil!
20 November 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Men! Lord have mercy! lord have mercy! this is the best zombie movie ever...why didn't the studio handed with the task to adapt resident evil hire the writers and director of this movie? This is a stone cold cult classic and it's a keeper. Right from the beginning till the very end was just too much although (warning a little spoiler) i didn't like the way Andy the gun shop guy died, he should have joined the break out party and is he one hell of a shot or what? The Jay Leno thingy was hilarious, if those retards that made resident evil (Paul S Anderson) would have any brains they should learn from this movie, it didn't need martial arts to be cool or some stupid stunt (the kind you see in eighties Arnold movies)it just had one heck of a story and a kick ass punch line (the binoculars chess game) i'll give this movie a nine!

ANDERSON,ANDERSON WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH YOU?
14 November 2004
i have seen this movie and i will not comment on it cause there is nothing to comment on...except for Paul S.Anderson. This guy is an absolute retard, he ruined AVP well thats tolerable, he completely destroyed a well drafted story line for Resident evil, it's very disappointing and annoying but what i cannot tolerate is bringing a sequel that is worse than the first installment. lets face it anybody who praises this movie is either one of two things...they like senseless unrealistic action or is just not a resident evil game player. i can call myself a veteran of the game (resident evil 1.2.3.code veronica. outbreak, dead aim, you name it the chances are i have played it)and all i see is an absolute deconstruction of the game story line Hollywood should be ashamed of themselves for making such a stupid adaptation of the game...God help us!

One of the best movies since "the usual suspects"
21 October 2004
This movie has already been approved as one of the best dramatic roles for both Liev and Denzel, the plot was just too intriguing, Meeryl streep out did herself in that movie, she kind of reminds me of Hilary Clinton, the emotion and intensity was just perfect. This isn't your average Hollywood thriller, it's a masterpiece beyond reasonable doubt and who better to play a confused soldier than Denzel, why i gave this movie 10 was not because it had a superstar cast or high budget special effects or because am a democrat or republican but because the quality of the script translated by the actors was just plain brilliance, if you ask me i prefer the 2004 Manchurian candidate to that of Sinatra thumbs up for the movie director and script writer.

The Machinist (2004)
Christian Rocks to infinity
18 October 2004
Christian Bale will make a script written by Paul Anderson look good, equilibrum was a cult classic, i still haven't gotten over that movie. His weight loss shows how dedicated he can be when fitting into roles, i will give this movie even though i haven't seen it an 8. If he was cast in that wack movie Resident evil the movie might have made something close to a 100 million dollars by now, no thanks to Paul S. Anderson (i hate that guy)Bale gives a strong presence to whatever character he plays, i like to see him in a Predator movie (without Paul S. Anderson) The difference between Tom Cruise and Christian? Bale makes it look good! While Cruise gives the action meaning in a film
