Shingeki no Kyojin (2013)
Attack On Titan... REALLY?
When I first heard about Attack On Titan, I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I had given this anime a fair chance, no judgment. I had watched the first season completely and I must say, this anime is boring and predictable.
First of all, before people say this, at least read the review.
Story (4/10) - The story is the least fascinating thing about it. The story brings out the things that people like most and abuses the heck out of it. The drama is so pushed on you that it's remarkable. None of the characters are that memorable, the plot would be interesting if it hadn't been done before, and most of the anime takes place with someone whining about people dying or their friends dying or about more dying. The human race became even more stupid than it was before and a lot more picky, choosy. "The main character is a titan. Let's kill the one chance we have at LIVING." Yeah, a human's first instinct would be that. Of course, he still lives, but the episode was nothing but drama and the show drags on that for so long at times.
Artstyle/Graphics (8/10) - While I admit, I have seen better, Attack On Titan has great animation. The art style isn't that interesting, but the depth to the movements is amazing. The only reason I don't rate it any higher is because, besides the beautiful animation and movements when they're swinging around, there's nothing unique about it besides the Titans. Even then, they're just irritating to look at.
Music - I don't remember a single song from the anime. So I'm not gonna rate it. Usually, I would though. Generally, if something sticks out, I'll remember it. I barely remember the opening scene, which is pretty hard cause usually an anime will have GREAT openings.
Characters (2/10) - I don't remember one character. The main character angers me. The character that follows him angers me and even his little butt buddy angers me. I don't remember ONE guy. The only guy I remember having character development was the cowardly guy who switches his career path. That's only because he was the only character (surprisingly) not crying and whining for 5 hours.
Style (2/10) - This is the worst part of the anime. When they're not fighting, they're whining and being very, very, exaggerating every sad emotion they're is. It's like an anime dedicated to people who have never seen this before and it's like dying characters is just a new trend. Difference? I didn't gave a single F about any of the characters.I don't even remember any of the characters who died. That's how insignificant they were. It's like a mockery of Evangelion or Elfen Lied. This anime just tries to be as depressing as possible to appeal to the emotions of the fools who follow it.
I'm not saying Attack On Titan is horrible or bad. I'm saying, it's nowhere near as good as people say. It's probably one of the most boring anime I ever watched. Some of the lines made me want to throw up because of how stupidly phrased they were and how much I knew "Wow, I could never relate to these characters or imagine someone saying this stupid stuff."
Superjail! (2007)
Life on the outside ain't what it use to be
Super Jail is probably one of the most bizarre shows I have seen on Adult Swim and is, in my opinion, one of the best in a very long time. Super Jail is about a sadistic warden who wants to perfect the "art" of incarceration. The staff of Super Jail consists of the Warden, Jared, Jail Bot, and Alice. The show usually starts off with Jack Knife (A criminal) breaking a crime and Jailbot taking Jack Knife to Super Jail, the prison for extreme criminals. Jack Knife normally escapes Super Jail in some way or another.
The Warden usually comes up with a diabolical plan for the prisoners of Super Jail or some other wacky idea to get what he wishes, he also has a thing for Alice. Jared is a recovering alcoholic who tries to take care of the Warden's budget and usually gets picked on by the Warden and others. Jail Bot is a tombstone shaped robot that goes and kills whatever causes trouble, though it seems to have been programmed with sympathy. Alice is the Jail Guard of Super Jail and does a very good job at it as well as the prisoners seem to somewhat fear her, she is masculine and is a transsexual. Other characters in the show are presented throughout the series, some more important than others such as the Twins.
The Twins usually ruin The Warden's plans in some way and cause trouble. The Warden has given them more privileges than the other members of Super Jail. They can teleport, have their own laboratory, and like the Warden, can somewhat bend reality. The episodes usually end in many of Super Jail's members dieing and much panic and chaos erupting. The show is very much random and very much amusing and the plots are somewhat simple. Many people don't like this show because the drawings are "half assed" and Adult Swim couldn't find any good artists apparently, however, if you are observant, you will notice that some of the things in the back round are very well drawn. I guess it wasn't a possibility to them that they were just using that art style because it would make the show more funny and amusing to watch. I hope the show's drawings DON'T get better because if they did, they wouldn't be as amusing as they are now. There is much blood and gore in this show along with creative deaths.
@mallninjanate Dr. Venture isn't really all that sadistic first of all, he's just very self centered and is trying to live up to his father in a way. And no, the Warden is living up to his own standards, why? Because he did the exact opposite of what his father did.
Jared doesn't care about the well being of the other jail mates, he's concerned about the budget, he's no goody two-shoes, on the last episode, he looks like a Hitler type creature and blows someone's head off and acts like he's the bad ass of Super Jail in another, sure, Venture Brothers 100% "TEAM VENTURE! LET'S GO KILL PEOPLE AND GET DRUNK!" Very goody two shoes. The robot slaughters people and is efficient at doing it. The Venture one is a screw up and helps out when it's needed. Brock and Alice is probably the closest thing to being similar and even then there's not too much similar besides the fact that they can kill people quite well, Alice isn't a thinker, she just kills people, Brock is a thinker AND he kills people, but he also takes things into circumstance.
Anyhow, this is a very interesting show and proves that there still is good T.V. out there.
The Sarah Silverman Program. (2007)
An awesome show! If you've never heard a good joke in your life
I understand the jokes quite well, they just aren't good. The show is horrible. I understand it, and that's another horrible thing about it. The only cool character there EVER was on the show was that one hobo in that one episode, but then I see the other episode including that episode and the show is horrible. It's not funny, NOT funny! I don't want people to say "Only smart people get it" because if they're so smart why do they judge people they don't even know and say that they're not smart or intellectual enough to understand it? It's like saying "The sky is red" but never looking outside. But anyways, this is absolutely the worst show I have ever seen in my life, the jokes are terrible, I mean, you can understand them, they're just horrible, her controversy is very lame, her fart jokes and other jokes on bodily fluids are really dumb and usually consist of really bad acting. I'm not sure what these "smart" people see in this show, but judging others when they don't even know anything about any of us isn't exactly a smart comment.
Stranger Than Fiction (2006)
A pretty interesting movie
Stranger Then Fiction was actually a pretty good movie. At first, I was afraid to see it due to the fact that the person who chose the movie was the same one who chose to see Miami Vice which we didn't see too long ago from this movie. Anyways, the movie is mostly... Well, I shouldn't ruin that for you, but the movie is about a guy that hears a Narrator. The Narrator says that Harold (The protagonist) is going to die. Harold freaks out and his life changes completely. Anyways, the story becomes interesting and gives great explanations into what's going on. At some points you might even question your aspects in life when you really think about some of the things. Anyways, the movie was something a good amount of people would enjoy. I actually didn't get out of my seat to get more popcorn for this movie like I did with Miami Vice which equaled Garbage.
Miami Vice (2006)
Awful!
The worst movie I had ever seen in my whole entire life, the only reason I'm giving a review is to warn you NOT to watch this movie, I repeat do not watch this movie. There were only two parts of the movie that were actually alright and nothing more. You could barely understand what anyone was saying in the movie and an hour after the movie started I asked my cousin "What's happening so far?" at that, I went downstairs to get a refill on my popcorn because I didn't understand the movie! Later I understood and understood how crappy it was! Worst ending ever! Worst beginning ever! Worst movie ever. Do not I repeat do not see this movie! My cousin's apologized to us for picking out this movie. It was horrible, seriously I even like movies that are kinda crappy but even I could tell how bad it was!!! The best part of the movie was when I went to get more popcorn cause I actually knew what was going on! Whenever I see a movie and think it was kind of bad and wasn't that tasteful, I'd say the movie was alright, but I have NEVER hated a movie so much as I hate this.
P.S. If people are wondering, I have never ever watched Miami Vice the T.V. show in my life
