Pseudoarcheology at its best
26 October 2021
The problem with this pseudococumentary begins with the fact that no real archeologist appears in it. Most of real scientists dealing with History, Archeology, and Paleontology, deemed the information in this "documentary" as pseudoscience.

One of the worst
13 October 2018
This movie is one of the worst films ever made. It's a blatant joke on the audience. Even in the opening night, most of the attending audience demanded a refund. Little kids screamed in anger "what was this s**t? Even a guy made a stand in front of the screen yelling and demanding a full refund. This piece of garbage is not worth the money you spend on it. One thing is for sure: youtubers shouldn't be allowed to make movies if they don't have a minimum respect for the moviegoers, or at least, their own fanbase..

A film to make fans cry
27 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
When I walking out from a theatre in 1977 after watching Star Wars I was happy to see a film I can relate to. When the second film came out, I was really excited and couldn't wait to see the third installment and care for those enthralling and beloved characters I learned to love. When the trilogy of prequels came out. believe me, I was OK with them. I know that George Lucas really tried too hard to please hardcore fans. I have respect for the man because he allowed fans to create a big and expanding Universe for the saga. And then... Episode 7 and 8 hammered everybody's head. This new episode in particular, was an insult to me and to other fans of this beautiful universe and was a spit in the eye of Lucas and to the legacy of the main characters. The writers and director of this film stomped on all literature, comics, animated series, and videogames that always had the decency of protecting of the canon. That was the only rule imposed by Lucas to anyone wanting to create a fanfic or a novel: Never to break the canon. And what's the first thing Disney did? They broke the canon and sent the Expanded Universe to the trash bin. After the film ended a man asked me: 'Oh, good sir, are you crying because Luke was killed?' I replied: No, Mister, I cry because they've killed an entire saga.

The film most people saw in all movie history in México
15 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Nosotros Los Pobres (We, The Poor), the first of a successful trilogy. Ismael Rodrigues, the director mentioned, even in the original trailer, that Ustedes Los Ricos, wasn't a "second part", a sequel, but a continuation of a poor carpenter saga of life. Nosotros Los Pobres it's maybe the film more people watched over the years since 1948. Too many people cry and laughed with this film. Too many people sing along the song Amorcito Corazón (Manuel Esperón and Pedro De Urdemalas) that has become an iconic symbol of that film. We will always remember the scene when Pepe struggles to make the real assassin confess the murder of the usurer woman. Full of drama, violence and songs, Ismael's film endure the strokes of time and will live forever in hearts and minds of millions of Mexican peoples.

A so-called show aimed to women
26 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Not even my wife likes this terrible show. Almost a 75% of the show's running time is merchandising directed to women. The show's producers are more interested in selling products and services than in inform women about more interesting stuff.

You can find more things about beauty products, OTC medications to make women lose fat, new trends in fashion, etc, than stuff to make women to feel good about themselves.

The hosts give more on screen time to sponsors than they give to experts in matters like women's health, news, technology, self-esteem.

Sadly, this kind of shows invade all the Mexican television.

Mexican TV Bloopers
27 July 2006
This show, that lasted less than three years, depicted bloopers that occurred when filming "telenovelas" (soap operas) or any other shows like sitcoms or news broadcasting. This show was a rip off of Dick Clark's TV's Bloopers & Practical Jokes, because in the emission you could see bloopers and jokes á la Candid Camera. On set, was Pedro Armendáriz Jr., the great actor Pedro Armendariz's son, sharing space with a CGI of a puppet called Furcio. At the beginning of the series, the show was hilarious, but later, became lame and boring. Always the same bloopers and jokes. In the later emissions, Armendariz looked tired and it seemed that he was aware of the silliness of talking to a virtual puppet. Rest in peace Furcio. Nobody will miss him.

Easter Egg
10 July 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Don't forget to watch the final scene. If you are patient enough, wait until the credits are over and you will be rewarded with one final scene. I won't tell you anything about it, you have to see it for yourself. Like this one, there are many films that have inserted one extra piece of the story. Some times you have to expect the unexpected, a twist in the plot right in the final scene. Why directors include such easter eggs? Maybe they expect that a film-goer like you should see the entire movie, his whole piece of art. So, run to your video store o videoteque and place the VHS or DVD in your player and enjoy.

Remember: the story is not over till it's over.

I-wanna-get-out-of-this-theater kind of film
6 January 2006
This is the kind of films that keep Mexico's film history face down the ground. The film is a stream of sketches à la Candid Camera. Several bystanders and ordinary people are victims of low taste practical jokes. If you think you are gonna get a good laugh with this, think twice. I'm sorry for the people who actually paid money to see this movie; I had the sense that I was another victim of the producers' jokes. Sadily, I couldn't get my money back. Why this director keep filming this kind of trash? I don't know. Despite the failure of the premise, the producers gave us some sequels, each one worst than the previous. If you want to ground your children, lock them up in their rooms, put this VHS or DVD and push Play and throw away the remote and pull off the keys of the player. Mr. Director Cardona You owe me a star.

The must-see Sci-Fi film ever
11 September 2005
Warning: Spoilers
If you are a sci-fi movie buff, 2001 it's a film you'll enjoy, not only because the beauty of the photograph and the plot, but the scientific and metaphysics background surrounding the whole film. From the Dawn of Man to the space travel to Jupiter we are grasped by the hand of Kubrick and A. C. Clarke and we are shown to a world of discoveries: Videophones, computer graphics, use of cards with magnetic bands for pay phones, no-sound-in-void-of-space, talking computers, computer Chess games, hibernating bodies for long-term travels, etc. OK, FX are cheesy, I admit it, but come on, the year the film was made is 1968, we can forgive that. The restaurated release of the film and the remasterized sound makes you think it was filmed a year or two ago. 2001: A Space Odyssey is a Beta, VHS, DVD or UMD you MUST have in your collection. Enjoy it all the time you want and you won't be disappointed.
