GoldenEye (1995)
Delivers Everything and More for what you Want for a Spy film
Goldeneye 007 is a movie which falls into the category of "The Perfect Blockbuster". It has the awesome action sequences, the twists and turns, and a charismatic lead. The action sequences are well made and pretty cool. The cast is amazing with Pierce Brosnan perfect for the role, Sean Bean being a great villain, and Judi Dench making an "appearance" though she did reprise her role in the sequels. Of course this movie has Russians as villains which for some reason, from the late 80s to the mid 90s, Russians were villains for like almost every single blockbuster from Rocky 4 to Air Force One which is really awkward and I daresay stupid but we're not here to talk about that. Although this movie has great scenes it also has some awkward scenes like I don't know what the car chase scene at the start of the movie is supposed to be. It's kinda funny to me and in that scene in the background there is this WEIRD and cringy music playing which made me laugh out loud. But the best part is the song Tina Turner made which is just brilliant like I liked it even better than the movie just such a great song. And it is important to remind that there has been one of the best video games that is based on this movie. It has some flaws but I nonetheless love this movie but like what came out of it better. I also think the turn in this movie worked even though it might be kinda overdone nowadays but it was good at the time. And the toilet scene is just iconic and great. A 9.5/10 in it's genre and a 9/10 overall.
Big Fish (2003)
This Film has EVERYTHING you need to make a Personal Story
Big Fish is one of the best Tim Burton movies ever. Now I have only seen this, Beetlejuice, Batman, Batman Returns, and Charlie and the Chocolate factory. This is my favorite of all the ones I've seen but I haven't seen most of his movies. But I think this film is a masterpiece.
The storytelling is what makes this movie great. Even though the cast is fantastic and the shots are stunning, it's the storytelling which makes this one brilliant.
You have all of these locations, creatures, and characters that are so creatively made. Edward Bloom is a really interesting character to explore and the stories he tells are always exciting. Then on the other hand you have this depressive son who is sick of his fathers stories. I feel like some people can really relate to this story and everyone can connect to it. And the ending is just one of the most satisfying endings ever. Such a beautiful movie.
Overall, this is a great showcase of what Tim Burton can do and I love it. A 10/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall for me.
The Ghost Writer (2010)
A Brilliant Suspense that is in My List of best Movies of the Decade
The Ghost Writer gives you the thrills. I think it's quite an underrated film for what it is. The acting is great, the cinematography is beautiful, and the storytelling is spectacular.
Pierce Brosnan steals every scene he's in and Ewan McGregor is an interesting lead who looks like a normal British guy, but makes choices that a normal guy wouldn't make and risks his life just to figure out the mystery. Pierce Brosnan's wife is successful at being miserable and Tom Wilkinson is great at almost every movie he has starred in.
The storytelling here is brilliant makes you to sit at the edge of your seat and makes you wonder what is the next thing we will learn about the mystery. I was really shocked at what happened at the end and thought it was a perfect reveal.
Not saying what it is, the decisions Ewan McGregor's character makes are sometimes really stupid and you think like "WHY did he do this?", or, "did he really needed to do this?" Also, I didn't really enjoy what they did to him at the end and thought it was unnecessary but those are my only complaints and they aren't too important. Overall this film is really overlooked and is wonderful. A 10/10 in it's genre and a 9/10 overall.
Moneyball (2011)
One of the Best Sports Films of All Time
Moneyball is my personal favorite sports movie. It has a great cast, an interesting way of telling things, and shows you the progression of a character, who finds a new way to deal with the problem and mostly succeeds. Most sports movies already did that but this one takes that to another level. Rocky seems a little bland comparing to this. It manages to mix the things that would feel like a joke to mix, economics and baseball, and make it an exciting and powerful project. This film got nominated for 6 Oscars and didn't win any which seems a little funny. The acting in this film is great while you have standout performances with Brad Pitt and especially Jonah Hill. Robin Wright and Philip Seymour Hoffman also have parts and the best part for me was a really young Chris Pratt. This is also an underdog story but it takes it into the next level. There are also some moments where you want to scream and route for the team, these really powerful moments which you are never going to forget about this film. It's also a film which focuses more about the characters which I like. This film is a great character study and another great sports film to add to the collection. A 10/10 in It's genre and a 9.5/10 overall.
GoldenEye 007: Reloaded (2010)
One Of the most Fun First Person Shooters for the 7th Generation of Consoles
Goldeneye 007 is a great remake of the original. Although sometimes it feels more like COD than a 007 game, I've heard there is an option to change that. I was really surprised that this level of graphics could be accomplished with the Nintendo Wii. This is a great game for teens/adults who don't know what to do with their Wii. What I mean by that is some people criticize the Wii for being a console for kids and grandparents, but when games like Red Steel, Madworld, Resident Evil 4, and this came out, it was a nice surprise as being a game library closer to the Gamecube which wasn't a console advertised for being for grandparents or kids. I like how the motion controls are used. They are NOT clunky, rather well used. The multiplayer is a good time. The multiplayer in the original Goldeneye is better, but this is pretty fun as well. I don't have anything to say about the online features because I played this in 2021 and internet connection for the Wii died 7 years ago. Like I said, the graphics, look great for the Wii. As for the designs of characters, I don't have issues with Bond being Daniel Craig although Goldeneye is a Brosnan movie. Although a part of me thinks how cool it would be if they made Bond Brosnan and had voice acting by him. So I would've rather if they made Bond Pierce Brosnan. Other character designs are pretty standart which is fine. All and all, Goldeneye 007 is worth the average price it's going for in Ebay which is 20 dollars. Worth every penny and should be in your Wii collection if you like first person shooters or James Bond. I love this game even though I haven't seen any Bond films. A 9.5/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall.
Hajimete no Wii (2006)
A Game with Mini Games that You will Have Fun with if you play with a Friend
Wii Play is fun game that is worth the 10-15 dollars you can buy it from. But I think you will have fun with this game more than you will have fun with Wii Sports if you choose to play Single Player. Although the levels are a little bit more simple than Wii Sports. I like to play all of the levels and like each one of them in a different sense. It's great that these games with the Wii title are played with Mii's. My favorite game is Tanks! I like to control the tanks with the nunchuck. All and all, Wii Play is a game you will have fun with for a bit. A 9/10 in it's genre and an 8.5/10 overall.
Wii Sports (2006)
Fun game for you, your parents, your sister, your cool cousin, and your grandparents!
Wii Sports is one of the launch titles for the Nintendo Wii.
It doesn't try to be a masterpiece and a brilliant experience like Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, or Super Mario Galaxy.
It's just a game for everyone and THAT is what makes this game fun. Some people like to call this game a MASTERPIECE, I think it's too simple and basic to call a masterpiece, but I get why they say it is. I like the motion controls. My favorite sports are boxing and tennis in this game. I sometimes have problems playing baseball and tennis with the motion controls being sometimes somewhat clunky. But all and all Wii sports is a classic and a fun game. I wouldn't say that if you buy a Wii you should get it if it isn't included with the wii that you bought just because it's too expensive now for what it is. I think games like Super Mario Galaxy, Goldeneye 007, Twilight Princess, Disney's Epic Mickey, and Wii Play are better value with the 10-20 dollars range of Wii games rather than paying 35 dollars for Wii Sports. If it comes with the console, that's GREAT but if it doesn't, buy it after. I recommend this game to anyone. A 9.5/10 in it's genre and a 9/10 overall.
The Prestige (2006)
Christopher Nolan's Futuristic Way of Storytelling at it's BEST
One event happens, then another, then another event happens that let you interpret the first event in a different way, then the same thing happens to the other event, wait what? That is basically what Nolan's masterpiece The Prestige is about. It gives you a perspective of two magicians who were friends at first, but then become rivals. You can support one, or another, but you don't need to support them, you can just watch them go CRAZY. The Prestige is a brilliantly crafted masterpiece. The acting is great with Hugh Jackman and Scarlet Johansson new to the Nolan-Verse. When Christian Bale and Michael Caine return from Batman Begins. I love the direction which shows you how a wonderful childhood experience that is magic, can be full of selfishness. If you ask me, I think Hugh Jackman's character is a better person, but in this case, I think Bale is right although I don't really love either of those characters because they are not designed to be loved. I also love the cameo appearance from the charismatic David Bowie. He acted great and played such a strong character. This is a must-watch for any film fan and I would recommend it to everyone. A 10/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall.
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
Ugly Graphics, Fun Web Swinging, Bland Combat
You will have a good time with Spider-Man 3. I bought a Nintendo Wii recently. I wanted a taste of, well, basically everything for my Wii for a good price. I knew I wanted a Spider-Man game because if I wanted a taste of everything, I needed superhero games and I'm a big fan of Spider-Man games. There are several Spidey games on the Wii. I could have bought. Web of Shadows or Shattered Dimensions but those were over my budget. Then I found this game for 9 dollars and I knew it would give me a taste of superhero games so I bought it. And it did give me that taste. The graphics are UGLY but I don't care about graphics so that doesn't matter. A thing that does matter is being Spider-Man. I love web swinging with the Wii remote. Keep in mind that my Wii version is the same as the PS2 version. But the combat is boring. When you hit a person in the normal suit you can hit like 3 times a row at an enemy. THEN he/she comes back at you and hits you like there is no way not to get a single punch in combat. The best part is the black suit. It's so fun to use the black suit. Then, you can beat up your enemies without getting your eye purple. That's nice. I gave this game the same score I gave the movie too. An 8.5/10 in it's genre and a 8/10 overall. Recommend it.
Knives Out (2019)
The BEST Plot Twists of the Decade!
Rian Johnson's "Knives Out" put him into a next level. He had some fame with "Brick" and "Looper". Those films were well made and had interesting ideas executed even better. Then he had bad reputation with "The Last Jedi" that many consider one of the worst movies in the Star Wars franchise. I myself don't hate that movie but it IS one of the worst Star Wars movies. I was really excited to watch this movie anyways
not watching any other of his movies. Then I watched it, and I LOVED it. I am really surprised this didn't get nominated for best picture. But moving into the film, I love the cast. Especially Daniel Craig who is just messing around with this detective look and a weird French accent. I loved that. Other standouts were Chris Evans, Toni Colette, Ana De Armas, Christopher Plummer for me. Especially Toni Colette who was just doing her thing in the best way possible. She was so funny. There are something like 3 events happening in the middle of the film that all relate to the murder. There are so many little details that you don't forget that are mentioned in the 3rd act that make sense. You ask a question like why was that left in there? Or hey, why did he/she do that? I just think this film was executed so well. I would say that this film a masterpiece and probably in my top 10 favorite movies. Rian Johnson is brilliant and he deserves chances to make great films like this. A 10/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall.
Memento (2000)
I Wonder what people said about this film in 2000?!
Memento is an amazing film. I was amazed at how this film managed to tell this not too hard story in backwards and make it so compelling. By doing that you'll think:"Well, but how will that work, like wouldn't you have the answer at the beginning of all things?" Well, somehow, no. It was a brilliant idea to make this guy (Guy Pearce) to have a memory loss like thing because then you will NOT know the answer at the beginning! (kind of it's a confusing movie) It creates a mystery that you care about. Likewise, this was Nolan's debut (except that 6000 dollars budget debut that is black and white) and everyone was CONFUSED. People never saw a film like this and it's just amazing. I love the storytelling and how great and complicated it is. A 9.5/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall.
Men in Black (1997)
This Movie's AWESOME
Men In Black is a classic. It's not the greatest movie ever made, It's not the most stunning movie ever made, but it sure is one of the best blockbusters. The chemistry between these 2 folks is amazing. You have the grumpy I won an Oscar Tommy Lee Jones, and the energetic and young Will Smith. The movie is also hilarious! I never loved the villain because I'm afraid of bugs, and he always grossed me out. But you're not here to love the villain, you're here to have fun with the boys! I also like this movie better than any other alien movie. Wish the sequels weren't so lame though. You watch Men In Black not to watch great cinema, but to have some fun!
The Kid (1921)
Simple,Yet Beautiful
Charlie Chaplin's The Kid is a Masterpiece. I don't watch a lot of old movies. What I mean by old is movies that are released before 1965. But I was always a fan of Chaplin's work and how ahead of it's time and warm his films were. This is by far the warmest of all. This guy can make you laugh, and cry, inside the same movie in 1921. I found interesting that Chaplin just wants to be a man that wants to do the right thing. He always calls himself names like a tramp or a worker. Just amazing. The storytelling in this movie is simple but effective. Actually, this movie is just that. Simple, but effective. This movie made me cry when I first watched it at age 5. I still love it. It doesn't matter if it's silent, that never disturbed me about this flick. Any cinema fan should watch this. It's just beautiful. It's probably my favorite Chaplin flick. And there are just fun scenes like the 2 kids fighting, or the dream sequence at the end of it. Recommend it to anyone. A 10/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall.
Tonari no Totoro (1988)
Hayao Miyazaki's MASTERPIECE
My Neighbor Totoro has one of the BEST storytelling in Animation. I think Studio Ghibli is an Asian version of Pixar but even better. To be honest, I need to rewatch this movie but I will tell you what I remember. I think Totoro is the cutest thing in Cinema. Like he is much better than those little spoiled creatures ILLUMINATION makes. This is just a big guy you can hug all day. These Miyazaki movies all have beautiful animation and scores. This one is the best. This movie is just so peaceful and needs an audience that is really clever. If you are just this MCU fan that wants to check out this movie because it has so much praise and is on Netflix no, you will not like this movie AS much. This Movie is SPECIAL like all of the Ghibli films and this is in my top 3. I also LOVE the sequences with flashbacks of the past.
This is just a MASTERPIECE and there would not be anything like it. If you didn't know, Totoro appeared in Toy Story 3, not joking. A 10/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall.
Rain Man (1988)
A Special And Emotional Story With Great Performances
Rain Man is a very special movie. It has a really creative story that I am surprised nobody else thought of. But this movie came out the perfect time, has the perfect cast, and perfect storytelling for it's time. I just watched this movie and appreciated it so much. This movie has really great performances by Tom Cruise and of course Dustin Hoffman who acted perfectly. I have not seen Dustin Hoffman's other movies and seen him in other stuff so I believed he was autistic.
The dialog is also great seeing this guy who is not really healthy and happy and seeing his reactions to having a brother you don't know about and reacting to it. And Dustin Hoffman's characters reactions are equally as great too learning things from his little brother. It is also fun to see Tom Cruise getting mad because that happens in almost every movie he is in and also, to be honest, Tom Cruise is really great at playing these aggressive jerks and that is great to see to seeing his character being a better person at the end and having family. And at the end, you just see how happy the two characters are and that is what it is all about. This is an upgrade to cinema and it totally deserves the Oscars it has won. A 10/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall.
Inception (2010)
Every Time I Watch It, I Appreciate It 2 Times More
Christopher Nolan's Inception is a very special film and a very rare one too. You only see a movie like this a decade. It may be Nolan's best movie ever made. Although I am not too sure about it because I haven't seen every movie he has made because I am 12 years old. But this movie has one of the best cast I have ever seen. It has almost every star Nolan uses in his films. Of course with Leonardo Dicaprio, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy, Marion Cotillard and more. Just filled with talent and the way people act is so real that sometimes I forget they are actors. And that is the magic of acting. And of course the world building and storytelling is incredible. Like this is one of the best movies of the decade. This movie is definitely in my top 3 and is a movie every one can enjoy. Yes everyone can enjoy this movie even people who is not a fan of action movies would appreciate this movie and what it's done even my mom loves this movie. A 10/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall.
Full House (1987)
A Show with some Good seasons, some Great seasons, and some Horrible seasons
Full house is an entertaining family tv show that was around in the 80's and 90's.
It had some really good messages and fun episodes and it succeeded at being emotional. The first three seasons had all of that. It was really entertaining and funny. Then he 4th 5th and 6th seasons came and they were decent seasons.
Of course the magic was gone but it was still fun and worth to watch. And after that the seventh season came and there was a MASSIVE quality drop. The characters became annoying and the jokes became repetitive. But there was one thing I liked and that was DJ 's boyfriend Steve I thought he was funny enough.
But really a character couldn't save it. Joey's Cartoon impressions became so boring and repetitive that the guy became annoying. And the twins were cute but they weren't that good to save the show. And then Season 8 came and it was for me a 4/10. It felt like the actors and actresses got bored with the show and didn't want to do it anymore. They should've stopped at season 5. And by the way the show was cancelled so I am so glad it was because it would've get even worse.
It started 10/10 and ended a 3/10. An 8/10 in it's genre and a 7/10 overall.
Batman Begins (2005)
Who Would've Known Nolan Would Be The Secret Formula For a Batman Movie!
Batman Begins is one of the most "Wow" movies I have seen. It has the plot, the cast, the action, the storytelling, and, of course, the Nolanism. I first watched this movie getting into movies and boy, it was a GOOD start. I love the deep messages this movie has and respect them. I love that this is a Batman movie because he is my favorite superhero and I rather DC than Marvel. This movie also has a TERRIFIC cast with Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman just filled with great performances. I also like Gotham a lot as this grounded place with crime always happening. I love the League of Shadows fight scenes at the start of the movie. I always liked the Hans Zimmer score of Batman Begins more than The Dark Knight and that means I LOVE this movies score. I love Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Liam Neeson so this is a perfect combination for me. The reason this is a 9/10 is The Dark Knight Is Superior than this film so yeah. A 9.5/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall.
Spider-Man 3 (2007)
A Mediocre Conclusion to a Great Franchise
It Is so rare to find a movie that is the third in it's franchise being at least Good.
And Spider-Man 3 is no exception. Putting two villains in one movie is already a bad idea. I wished Sam Raimi could've do his own version of the movie without Venom but no the studios unfortunately forced him to include Venom. The poor guy couldn't do the movie the way he wanted. Oh well. But to be honest, I don't hate this movie as much as people do. I don't think it's a thumbs down movie, but it could've been so much better. I love Tobey Maguire and find the guy so funny. I am so GLAD he is returning. So because his performance I quite enjoy this movie.
I think it is watchable and the action is good enough. I never enjoyed the MCU as a lot of people did so I like revisiting these Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies. But compared to the first two ones this is really disappointing. The Venom stuff are really unnecessary and bad. Though I really do liked the Sandman stuff. And of course who could forget "Bully Maguire". But like I said I enjoy some of it so I didn't gave it a Terrible score. A 7.5/10 in it's genre and a 6.5/10 overall.
Equilibrium (2002)
If people worked more and had more time on this movie,It would be great
Equilibrium is a sci-fi thriller about a government trying to destroy emotions. It's a great and grounded idea for a movie but it is a hard concept to do. Because of that this movie has some flaws like the character Dupont screaming with anger and nobody stopping him and he is just like the bad guy in this movie. Anger is an emotion too you know. And sometimes there is times where logic in this film is weird like that. That is my only problem with this movie but it is a big one. To be honest,I don't mind that but I know it is a big problem when you are making a film so yeah. Another thing the fight scenes are SO similar to the Matrix and this movie coming 3 years after that is funny. But except all of that,I absolutely LOVE and respect this movie. I love the action and acting. I love the idea that this film has and I JUST wish people would spent more time on this project to make it superb. Oh well it still is one of my favorite movies. A 9.5/10 in it's genre and a 9/10 overall.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
One of the most Richest Worlds of Cinema History!
Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone is a classic. It has great characters, great
worlds, and great Magic! I think what J. K. Rowling wrote is incredible and what the movies has done is super creative! I love the first two films of the franchise.
They are directed in a way that I love and I like the first one better. Daniel Radcliffe is a young talent and he expresses that in this wonderfully magical film.
The John Williams Score is brilliant. One of the most iconic scores he has ever done. The plot is quite simple but it has turns and reveals. This is one of the best of it's genre and my favorite. But of course Voldemort in this movie is creepy as heck and can be scary and weird but this movie released 20 years ago but even knowing that it feels a little bit dated. This is a memorable movie and one of my favorite movies of all time. A 10/10 in it's genre and a 9.5/10 overall.
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004)
Better than the TV Show!
The Spongebob Squarepants Movie is one of the best animated movies of all time. The reason I say that is even adults in their 30s find this movie hilarious. It doesn't try to impress us,It just tries us to have a good time with it an I sure do!
The characters are funny, the story is simple but affective, and the comedy is great. This movie provided something that the next two Spongebob movies couldn't provide. Fun. The second one tries a different path and that is ok and the third one is like an advertisement for the Kamp Koral tv show. The cameo guests are great and funny as heck. This is one of the best of it's genre and one of the best buddy and feel good movies. It even succeeds with being eemotional. I cried when I first watched this movie when I was 6. A 10/10 in it's genre and an 8.5/10 overall.
The Fugitive (1993)
Better Than It Needs To Be
The Fugitive is action movies at it's best. Today, most action movies have boring acting, fast paced action, and great visuals but nothing more. The 90's and 00's were action movies at their best. The Fugitive is a revolutionary masterpiece that had attention. The action is great and thrilling and the plot is great. The acting is better than it needs to be with Oscar worthy performances.<<<<Harrison Ford is great with Tommy Lee Jones. Harrison Ford is one of my favorite actors who always plays in great movies. There is nothing to explain about Tommy Lee Jones he is just an A class actor. I think the reveal in this movie works although it's a little bit predictable but that is not a big deal. Stunning movie with great action. I would give it a 10/10 in it's genre and a 10/10 overall. Even people who is not a fan of action movies will appreciate this film.
Space Jam (1996)
A Masterpiece For Family Entertainment and a Decent Movie Overall
I think Space Jam is a timeless family classic that is one of the best of it's genre. I first watched this movie when I was 5 years old and 7 years later I still love it!
I don't think the remake would be great because remaking this movie for me is like remaking Back To The Future. It was great for this story this time, and it's just like an idea that some comedians made up that TOTALLY works. Of course coming from this genre it isn't a masterpiece or something like that but it is really outstanding like I said for it's genre. I think the characters are great. The Looney Tunes are funny as always,Lola Bunny is a good addition for Bugs Bunny's Love interest. And I always loved Bill Murray's Cameo. For it's genre a 10/10 but overall an 8/10.
