The Irishman (2019)
Thank you Scorsese!
I want to take the chance to thank Martin Scorsese for making The Irishman. Not only did he revive the Mafia Film which was dead for such a long time. He also made it possible for us to see our heroes together on the big screen again. Just by considering the cast, the movie deserves big respect.
But fortunately the plot did not disappoint either. It was no Expendables movie for instance where the cast was great but the content missed somehow. Scorsese did it just right and proved that he earnes his title as master. These goodfellas such as Deniro, Pacino and Pesci did a great job. In a time where the Film industry is dominated by super hero movies or senseless sequels it is an honour to watch The Irishman.
I could have sit there for another 3 hours. For a long time I was not so focused, so thrilled by a movie. For now I want to rate the irishman 9 out of 10 possible stars. After watching a documentary about the whole incident and rewatching The Irishman, rating it with 10/10 is quite possible.
Star Wars Rebels (2014)
The clone wars series made it very hard for Rebels
Although Rebels was a good show it can not compete with Clone wars. The first and second season were much better than 3 and 4 because the threat of the empire was clearer, thanks to the inquisitors. The group even encountered Vader in season 1 I guess. After season 2 the villains were a joke. Thrawn or whatever he is called did not fulfill my expectations as a villain. Yet the most tragic fact is what they did to Maul. Shame...
I expected a fight. A real fight. Like in the Clone Wars series. Darth Maul was so strong before and kept up with Kenobi. Dying in 2 seconds is ridiculous.
Danny Collins (2015)
Put a smile on my face and filled my eyes with tears
There is not much to say. I love Pacino and if you also do you will enjoy this little movie. If you dont love him please leave.
Blood Simple (1984)
What the hell was that?
I am such a fan of the work of the Coen brothers and I thought I have to watch their very first movie. Everything sounded great. The plot, the actors even the title. I expected fun for the next 90 minutes. All I got was DISAPPOINTMENT. I am not that kind of a Person who gets bored easily but I had to fast forward the last 30 minutes because I could not handle it anymore. The plot made absolutely no sense to me. I'm sorry I feel this way.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000)
Hated every part of the singing
Maybe Thats the reason I decided to rate it 6 instead of 7. The plot was actually okay only the singing annoyed me soo hard.
The Boys (2019)
Not your typical Superhero show
For years I've been a superhero fan and I watched almost every superhero show there was till I had enough. I think we all can agree that superhero movies and shows dominate the film industry. The moment I saw the Boys I thought " here we go another superhero series" and I was not interested. But I gave it Chance and it was THE superhero show I needed. Because it's realistic and not a fairy tale where the good heroes fight the bad villains. We get the opportunity to see supes from another angle.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
WHY TARANTINO WHY?
Once upon a time in Hollywood is the first movie directed by Tarantino which I could watch in the theatres. Nevertheless have I watched every Tarantino movie and honestly I love them all.
I could not love OUATIH though. The last part was cool but nothing in comparison to other scenes from Tarantino ( except for the flamethrower scene that was badass). There were no surprises, no unlikely turns and no suspense. I missed the blood oh God did I miss the blood. The violence ... the exaggerated violence which defines tarantino for me. The plot was aimless. You could say so was Pulp Fiction's but the difference is this: every scene of every character was enjoyable.
Acting was great especially Leo's of course and Brad as Cliff was amazing. Sharon Tate's portrayal was also really accurate but it did not improve the plot. It could have led the plot in a very great direction but yeah.
The setting is beautiful and I really felt the 60's vibe.
It could have been soooo much better. When I heard that it was about the Charles Mansons murders I had so many cool ideas how tarantino could make it awesome. But for my bad luck the first Tarantino movie I watched at the theaters is Tarantinos worst.
El secreto de sus ojos (2009)
Did I miss something?
I cant see how everybody is calling it a masterpiece. There is no motive for the killing, the killer was found by the most ridiculous way I have ever seen and the ending was so predictable... I am not sure If have missed something because I consider the 2 hours as totally wasted.
Incendies (2010)
Except for the ending it was very suspenseful
I really wanted to rate the movie with at least 8 stars but the end disappointed me. One plus one must not equal one. Before the twist was confirmed I tried to find another explanation because a coincidence like that can't be true and is not realistic. Until the end I was literally inside the movie as if I was helping to solve the case but the cheap twist brought me back to reality and showed me that it's just a movie. I was shocked but not satisfied... I still enjoyed the movie and don't get me wrong I am just sad about how it ended.
Annabelle Comes Home (2019)
Please don't watch
Please dont watch so there is no reason to make another one. Except for the good acting there was nothing that convinced me. It was more fantasy than horror I mean what kind of creatures haunted them? A helldog and that monster from " Pan's Labyrinth ". There were times where it was really hard to keep my eyes open and stay awake. Let it be the last Annabelle we will ever see.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
The last book is our only chance!
The moment the first episode of season 8 was over I thought to myself:" prepare yourself for a big disappointment". So I can gladly say that the failure of the last episode did not surprise me at all. I just think that its a real shame because especially this series deserved a great ending. All I can hope for is that George RR. Martin has prepared a great ending to this masterpiece. If you have never read the books before, let me tell you something ... you liked the series ? You will love the books. I am sure that Martin will fix the problem.
