Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part IV (2022)
Season 1, Episode 4
10/10
Best episode so far.
8 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
We knew that this show was going to be a bridge between EPIII Obi-Wan and Episode IV Ben Kenobi, and I think this episode finally created enough peace of mind for Obi-Wan to embrace his present and reconcile with both the Jedi and the Force.

There were many hidden details and Easter eggs.

Third Sister (brilliantly played by Moses Ingram) is really evil and I love her character. That moment with Vader was absolutely fantastic.

The path of the series is coming to an end, but what a thrill it's been so far.

Good movie, not his best
6 April 2020
Very good movie (that hasn't aged as well as other AH classics). This was interesting but still lacked something.

Terrible
5 April 2020
This movie could have been very good, the concept itself is good, however:
  • Camera work is the laziest I've seen since the 90's
  • Script tried to be funny, witty and deep, yet the interpretation by both Reeves and Ryder was terrible.
  • B Roll was terrible
  • editing was lazy

Terrible movie.

Fresh, intelligent and interesting
2 April 2020
I enjoyed thoroughly this movie. I'm a big fan of Ruffalo and he played his character pretty well.

The general idea of the movie is interesting and fresh; plus the general use of magic in the movie was pretty spot-on.

The Master.
1 April 2020
AH was one of the best the industry has ever seen.he was definitely brilliant.

During the production of a movie, the director can rewrite and reshoot many scenes until complete satisfaction, however, it is rare that a director can actually make a full remake of his/her own movie. AH was able to do so, and he did it beautifully.

I liked the original plot better than this one, but the acting of this remake was superb.

Fun and easy.

Warning: Spoilers
In my opinion, this has what any movie should aspire to have. It was just hilarious and entertaining.

I agree, Mr. Grant's performance was the worst of his career (and yet he is brilliant).

I loved the scene where he describes a play scene to Dr. Einstein and that's exactly how his brother is trying to kill him.

Serves its purpose
21 March 2020
This movie was completely entertaining. The comedic side of the movie, delivered mostly by Hart and Black was really funny and enjoyable.

Johnson delivered a very good performance and, of course, Gillan was simply amazing.

I was utterly surprised by Mr. Jonas's acting skills, he was quite good.

This movie is not a remake or a reboot nor a sequel. I think the best way to put this is as a spin off.

The children were portrayed quite well by the young actors.

Overall this was a funny Sunday movie. I just can't believe it took me so long to watch it. Can't wait to see the next one.

Not what I expected...
14 March 2020
The movie itself is pretty decent and Boseman delivers a credible performance. However, after watching the trailer I expected a very different movie. It's not good nor bad. It's just a bit mediocre.

Beautiful planets
5 March 2020
This movie has beautiful aesthetics, some good dialogues, a very interesting approach to technology and a very appealing plot.

I give this movie 8 because I think that some characters arcs are underdeveloped and because I couldn't actually see the chemistry between the main leads.

Nemo saved the movie

This movie would be a definite 2 but Nemo saved it. Terrible VfX and lousy dialogues.

Good idea...
24 February 2020
This movie has a very interesting plot and is well written, however the making of the movie is terrible.

Let's begin with acting: Adam Sandler has never been a serious actor and as a comedy guy he is pretty great; in this movie he is forced to do serious stuff and fails to delivers a powerful performance. No, yelling like there is no tomorrow doesn't mean you're good actor. The rest of the cast does a pretty regular job.

Moving along to camera work: Nothing spectacular. Some interesting shots but nothing more.

Sound editing and mixing: Probably the worst sound I've heard in a movie. It was like watching it inside a fishbowl filled with water. Pretty annoying.

In general the movie has some good ideas but they were carried terribly.

Warning: Spoilers
A fresh movie dealing with scientific discoveries of the very interesting XIXth century.

Some of dialogues are predictable and lame; the VFX are quite terrible and the characters are a bit flat.

However, the chemistry between Redmayne and Jones is worth the whole movie.

The scene where she climbs up the balloon is pure gold.

Extraordinary
3 February 2020
Masterfully crafted. Mr. Waititi delivers an amazing film filled with dark humor.

Davis is fantastic, the whole movie, actually, is his show. Chapeau.

McKenzie delivers an amazing performance.

Scarlett really does deserved the nomination and I wouldn't be surprised if she won.

Best legal series

This is, by far, the best legal series ever. The characters are extraordinary and the role by Mr. Spader is wonderful.

I saw this back then and then saw it today after the heartbreaking passing of Kobe. He was a true hero of The game. A short that definitely deserved the Oscar.

Marvellous.
13 January 2020
Very theatre like -for obvious reasons-. The whole idea is wonderful and the camera work is astonishing. Also, the tricks employed to make it look like a continuous shot are amazing. The only "mistake" this movie has -pecata minuta- is the casting, for Stewart, although wonderful- is clearly miscast.

Wonderful cast and movie.
3 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie has:
  • Great cast: Bogart and Bacall always did work well together for obvious reasons and Robinson gave his best performance.
  • Great plot: the whole idea is great and as an adaptation works ever better
  • Direction: Huston was one of the best ever. Here he is at it again. Loved the subtle reference to the San Pietro battle in Italy.

A good remake of a classic.

Good remake. Sinatra was fresh and Kelly was superb. Still, Grant, Stewart and Hepburn were better.

For this take Armstrong was a really nice surprise.

Can't really say...
29 December 2019
At times it seems amazing and ground breaking and at times it seems self pleasing.

JLG is a master of montage and yet there seems to be something off with this movie.

I can't really say if I liked it or not. Guess I should see it some more times to make up my mind.

It has beautiful scenes -at times- and some powerful messages but still, I feel something is missing...

Most beautiful musical sin Cherbourg...
29 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
A beautiful movie with no happy ending. Very much in the style of "The Umbrellas pf Cherbourg" this movie is about two lovers who don't end up together.

Both Stone and Gosling work magnificently and direction is impeccable.

Best movie of the decade.

Very good but not as good as they say...
28 December 2019
Yes, the movie is very well crafted and the performance by Phoenix is memorable but the movie lacks -in my opinion- that "plus" or "extra".

It is a fresh take on the Joker but I have some issues with the script and the cinematography of the movie.

Life or Armstrong
26 December 2019
This movie depicts the life of one of mankind's heroes: Neil Armstrong and his journey from joining NASA to the lunar landing.

The movie also deals with his personal life and how tragedy and his work affected his family and his character.

Beautifully crafted and well acted.

Saved by the actors.
23 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Both Hopkins and Pryce act beautifully. Their performances are touching and incredibly powerful. The script was ok, maybe even mediocre.

The facts of the movie are just wrong. I mean, Ratzingers representation is pretty inaccurate and not near the true man. Regarding the Argentinian dictatorship era the movie is far closer to depicting the truth.

I liked the movie in an overall way but I still dislike Meirelles. I can't deal with his decisions as a director.

Honest review...
20 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I think this movie/saga deserves two reviews: 1) As a movie maker and 2) As a Star Wars fan.

As a movie maker this film gets maybe a 3, but could easily land anywhere between 2.5 and 4.5 out of 10.

Why?

1) Editing: lazy at best. Too many things happening way too fast. 2) Direction: below average. It seems JJ Abrahams read all the tricks in the book and used them poorly. 3) Script: not spectacular but neither a disaster. It was mediocre. However, the way they "fixed" the storyline worked in a satisfying way. It should be noted, I liked what Rian Johnson did on Last Jedi, but his view was different from that of Abrahams, so the latter "fixed" the issue. 4) Dialogue: Corny in some moments but spectacular at others. 5) Cinematography: Pretty regular, nothing remarkable. 6) Acting: Driver and Ridley are spectacular. The rest of the actors performing human characters are almost forgettable. 7) VfX: pretty great but nothing new to the franchise or the genre. 8) Music: Williams closed his career in the most brilliant way possible.

Now,

As a Star Wars fan:

1) I should begin by saying that Star Wars comprehends form episode I to episode IX -including the series Clone Wars, Rebels and Mandalorian plus the Spin-offs- so those who hate the movie because they only liked the original trilogy should immerse in the whole SW universe. 2) The way they treated Leia after Carrie Fisher's passing was pretty good, emotional and respectful (i.e. the funeral scene); 2.1) Showing the scenes where Leia trains to be a Jedi and having her light saber on the film was actually amazing! I loved that 3) I loved the way they re-introduced Lando. He's always been the king of smooth. 4) The return of Han was tearful. I loved it. The way he forgives Kylo almost brought me to tears. 5) Rey being a Palpatine was something predicted by many but handled pretty well in the movie. 6) The force ghosts speaking was an absolute joy. Hearing again Obi-Wan, Mace, Adi Galia, Yoda... wonderful. 7) The Sith temple was incredible. The whole sequence was. 8) The whole space ships battle was pretty intense but lacked emotion. 9) The kiss between Rey and Kylo was long awaited and oddly not satisfying. 10) When Chewbacca cries and mourns Leia... tearful. 11) Rey's yellow saber is fitting with her whole character. 12) I disliked the way they obliterated Anakin's final deed of bringing balance by bringing back the Emperor.

From a fanatic POV the movie gets 8 out of 10.

Considering the two
