Gary Daniels was a great fighter in the day and at 57 he's in excellent shape still but the fight choreography in this film is shockingly bad. Very slow and obviously choreographed. Acting is somewhat plastic. Daniels would be more suited to more credible fight choreographers for his fights and also bigger directors . Can't recommend this sadly.

Don't waste your time.

Veeerrrryyyy slow!. Photography obsessed with close ups. Some characters seemed to just dissapear in some scenes which didn't make sense and why was he asleep in bed and watching telly whilst there were psychos around his house!. Dialogue was far too sparse. Really needed more dialogue. Acting seemed to be amateur too. A lot of negativity I know but got the impression it was a student project.
Mr. Robot
(2015–2019)
Goes off topic as the seasons go on
22 July 2020
Brilliant series following Elliot, a socially awkward cyber security expert/hacker. Series one starts off well and promises us a real treat for hacker fans. As a cyber security expert myself I have to say that Mr Robot deals with factual commands and the use of Kali Linux which as far as I know hasn't been shown before. There is careful emphasis on not showing too much coding for obvious reasons. As the seasons go on the story line seems to peter off from the practical hacking and starts to explore personal story lines which is a bit of a let down. A lot of talk but no action in latter seasons. Becomes more of a drama than a cyber series.
The Code
(2014–2016)
Not really a cyber series
19 July 2020
After reading about this series and it's trailer I was looking forward to watching a cyber series with hacking and coding playing a major part. Sadly this is not the case with The Code. This is more of a drama series rather than a hacking series as we would be lead to believe. Bit disappointing. Decent acting and production, just not really a hacking series as such.

Crap!

I couldn't finish watching it, it was that bad. Obvious foreign movie. Couldn't tell whether the actors were actually speaking English or whether it was dubbed as it sounded stereo typically dubbed. A lot of these reviews state it was good viewing but sadly not for myself and I love action, thriller and horror who also writes reviews on such films.

Terrible makeup effects
30 May 2020
Straight from the outset you could tell quite blatantly that the initial male character was Michelle Rodriguez in makeup. There could've of been a number of other ways to convincingly make the male illusion better.
You could also argue if there was a need for Michelle Rodriguez to do full frontal nudity but I guess the story line could be argued that it was necessary.
As the film progresses you get the feeling that they were attempting to mimic 'Sin City'.
I've also read that this film has been compared to a remake of 'Johnny Handsome' but having seen that film I don't see it.
All in all the film had decent actors but just lacked something!

A Prayer for the Dying
(1987)
Slow!
18 May 2020
For a film with such stars as mickey rourke, Liam Neeson and Bob hoskins this film is extremely slow. The story revolves around an ira member wanting out but not much really happens. Would've expected a lot more action and tension but sadly its absent. On a plus mickey rourkes Irish accent wasn't too bad.
Red Dawn

Decent remake
10 May 2020
Remake of the 80's Patrick Swayze film of the same name. The storyline has been modernized but still a pretty well made film and a good concept of what an invasion might be like. The two biggest criticisms I would have are the fact that why the US military was never involved, this was never addressed in a film about an invasion by Korea on the US. The second would be the reactions to family deaths. Seemed to get over the fact the two close relatives were killed in front of them! Worth a watch though.
Fracture

Smart thinking movie
24 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A really good story line with some fine performances. Some smart brains battle it out against each other on either side of the law. An intelligent Anthony Hopkins thinks he has committed the perfect crime after murdering his wife but with seemingly no evidence to pin him to the crime. Ryan Gosling's equally intelligent mind takes him on as the quick thinking smart lawyer.
Time Trap

The idea is good

Warning: Spoilers
Pretty decent thought went into this concept. Some of the acting left a lot to be desired but the story line was good. Basically a hidden cave is a time tunnel . Time elapses at normal rate inside the cave whereas the outside world time passes years per minute. I'd give it a watch.

Didn't make sense
24 April 2020
As well made as you'd expect from limited acting experienced teen actors but just didn't make sense. The ending didn't tie up and you're left wondering what the hell the story was about. It's not the tech film it's made out to be so I wouldn't bother if that's what you're expecting.

2nd rate acting unfortunately
12 April 2020
Watched this after seeing on Netflix and reading that the lead actor Adam collins was a real life royal marine who served in Afghanistan. Sadly it was obvious that the actors were inexperienced. Some decent action scenes made it watchable.
Bender
(2016)
Very slow!
7 March 2020
Bought this DVD under the title 'The Family' . Nothing online regarding this title as a movie but eventually discovered this movie is actually titled 'Bender'.
It is painstakingly slow. Nothing like what the true story of the 'Bender' family depicts.
Disappointing movie. Could've been so much better.
Trivia - Nicole Jellon and Jon Monastero who play the characters of Kate Bender and William York are married with a kid in real life.

Joker

Mediocre
21 February 2020
Not true Joker style I'm afraid. If you expected the Joker we've come to know and love then sorry but this isn't it sadly. Although Joaquin was good in this and a dam fine performance for the part he believed it should be it was quite mediocre really. A completely different take on Jokers life which contradicts the previous incarnations. Just thought he could've been more 'psychotic' lol. I don't think putting a Gary Glitter song in this movie was a good move. Really!!
