Amazing, amazing movie. "Pan's Labyrinth" brings you into an intense terrifying fantasy, only to rip you out, and throw you into the even more terrifying real world. Guillermo Del Toro creates the worlds best monsters, riddles some of the worlds best horror plots, and puts them together quite nicely. This movie is the prime example.

A classic. While the special effects are a bit out of date, a new satanic possession movie has yet to out do, or out scare, this one. So, still scary as hell.

Unexpectedly well done! I felt this movie was really scary, refreshingly so. Insidious is like, if you were to take the best parts of "Poltergeist" and the best parts of "Paranormal activity" and combine them with some real horror as mortar and you've got insidious!
10. Hostel (2005)

All though ultimately thought of as gore-porn, "Hostel" has a lot of really scarey elements. The setting is modern, the idea plausible, and yes the gore is disgusting. It frightened me, grossed me out, I even liked most aspects of the plot, all in all a good scary movie.
