After a blockbuster debut in 2022, the London Action Festival is set to return this summer for its second edition.
The festival is timed to be squarely in the middle of the summer action movie season. This summer will see the release of “Fast X,” “Kandahar,” “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” and “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One” in the May-July time frame and the festival will unspool June 21-25.
Highlights of the inaugural edition included The World’s Greatest Screening Ever… Probably! – an enhanced screening experience of “Die Hard” with director John McTiernan; a making of “Jurassic World Dominion” with an Academy Award-winning VFX panel presented by Proof Inc. and director Colin Trevorrow participating; exclusive previews of season 2 of Sky original “Gangs of London” with director Corin Hardy and Marv’s “School Fight” from stunt coordinator turned director Damien Walters; and...

It’s almost here! The long promised Black Adam movie, starring Dwayne Johnson in a role that the actor has spent over a decade preparing for, has finally screened for critics and a handful of fans. And the response so far? Well, we’ll call it mixed but positive. Early viewers are praising Black Adam as an action-packed spectacle, one that is packed to the absolute gills with DC Comics and Dceu lore, and Johnson’s performance, while singling out the writing and pacing something of a mixed bag.
That all seems fair enough. Black Adam has a hill to climb as a movie based on one of the more obscure characters in the DC pantheon, not to mention one of the less explored corners of the DC Universe as a whole. Still, Warner Bros. is betting big on both the film and Johnson’s star power, not to mention...

In our first ever trip to Collision, Den of Geek teamed up with DC Comics and Webtoon to chat about the future of web, digital, and print comics, as well as how the mediums and publishers are bringing new readers to every aspect of the comics marketplace. I was lucky enough to be asked to present our Collision Fest panel with DC Editor-in-Chief, Marie Javins, and Head of Content at WebToon, David Lee.
It was a great chat that spanned the gauntlet of how the companies are creating a two-way street between webcomics and the comic shop with titles like Wayne Family Adventures, Vixen: NYC, and the recently released Zatanna and the Ripper. We were also excited to reveal the release dates of new Webtoon DC collaborations like Zatanna and the Ripper and the upcoming Red Hood and the Outlaws.

This article contains spoilers for all eight episodes of A League of Their Own.
Prime Video’s A League of Their Own offers a delightful, though rare experience: at times it can be harder to remember who on is straight, rather than who’s gay. One of the strongest aspects of the new show, the queer representation was notably lacking from the original film. It’s a matter of historical fact that there were queer players in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (A.A.G.P.B.L.), upon which both the 1992 Penny Marshall movie and the 2022 Amazon Prime Video series are based. Moreover, as the series makes clear, charm school, policing players’ clothing both on the field and off, and the use of chaperones, were part of an effort to ensure players were perceived as straight. As the show demonstrates with characters like Jo, Lupe, and Carson,...

Ethan Hawke was born in 1970, barely a year after Paul Newman received his fifth Oscar nomination, this one for producing Rachel, Rachel (1968). That film was the first passion project in which Newman directed his wife, muse, and lifelong partner, Joanne Woodward. It would not be the last. They would go on to collaborate again as director and star, and sometimes as co-leads, three more times before Hawke entered the industry. And by the time Hawke was himself getting his start as a teenager in movies like Explorers (1985) and Dead Poets Society (1989), Newman was still racking up Oscar nominations, plus a couple of wins in the 1980s.
To say that talent as immense as Newman and Woodward loomed large in Hawke’s world as a young actor would be an understatement. They were gods. And when their theater company, the Blue Light Theater Company, invested in one of Hawke’s earliest plays,...

Note: This interview took place in early 2020, prior to the coronavirus pandemic.
Eric Andre is feeling nostalgic. He wistfully recalls a simpler, but arguably not any less crazy time in his life, as he anticipates the public’s reaction to his upcoming movie, Bad Trip.
“Back in like 2009, I’d dress up like Ronald McDonald and head into a McDonald’s,” Andre tells us about one of the earliest segments for his Adult Swim series. “I’d be drinking booze, crying and smoking cigarettes in there. That was all just with one mic and one camera on me.”
For over a decade, Andre and director Kitao Sakurai have been entrenched in the experimental comedy scene. But the team behind Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show has moved from killing time with a bare-bones setup in dingy New York City fast food joints to far higher production values in the feature film world.

Science fiction on network television has traditionally leaned towards a hybrid formula of episodic and serial content, and Debris is no exception. Even as the series premiere laid the groundwork for the Orbital task force to investigate and contain the alien spacecraft wreckage that occasionally falls to Earth, it also left open the possibility for self-contained storylines reminiscent of monster-of-the-week episodes of The X-Files, only with debris pieces instead of creatures.
Scroobius Pip, who plays a shady black market debris purchaser named Anson Ash, enjoys the narrative flexibility this gives Debris. “It was one of the great appeals because the fact that the debris has different properties and does different things makes it this endless, exciting pool of things that can happen each week,” he says. “So I’d imagine the viewers’ experience will be similar to me as a reader of the scripts. Each time a new script comes in,...

Amazon has started to lay down the proverbial rose petals on which its high-profile pandemic-era theatrical refugee, Coming 2 America, will eventually walk; namely the first trailer for the 30+ years-awaited sequel to Eddie Murphy’s 1988 comedy classic.
The Paramount-produced film, once scheduled to hit theaters in August 2020, met a fate typical of the year 2020 this past October when the studio sold distribution rights to Amazon, which, after a recent delay, has scheduled the film to stream in March. Interestingly, the just-dropped trailer seems to indicate that the America to which Murphy’s Prince Akeem Joffer will once again come seems familiar—and by “familiar” we mean virtually unchanged from the first movie. Ironically, the intrinsically-2020 rollout of the film will contrast with an extremely-1988 aesthetic.
With that set, check out the Coming 2 America trailer just below.

The Simpsons Season 32 Episode 6
Without dipping into political waters, The Simpsons season 32, episode 6, “Podcast News,” rides the wave of fake news into a less likely swamp: True crime reporting, and the amateur sleuths who’ve gone pro broadcasting it. Not on broadcast stations, though, those are outdated, and rely on the painstaking drudgery of the finding of facts, which are terrible for ratings. The episode opens in a state of frantic paranoia, eschewing the couch gag entirely, which always bodes well.
It’s 2 a.m., time for Homer’s ham in the Springfield household, but unease is in every shadow. A wide-eyed Lisa is prowling the house looking terrified. “So many lies, so many lies,” she says, setting the tone for the entire episode. When Marge comments that Lisa looks tired, the girl adds to the suspense and confusion by revealing “Looks are deceiving.

As you may recall, The X-Files was sneakily stowed away into Fox’s proverbial classified government facility, put away indefinitely after the 2018 revival season concluded controversially. While this fate was essentially sealed by the subsequent exit of co-star Gillian Anderson, the other half of the franchise’s iconic duo, David Duchovny, is making it clear that he’d return to the series.
Plans for another season of the series have yet to manifest, but Danish X-Files podcaster Sammensværgelsen recently got an interview answer from Duchovny that was intriguingly multilayered after asking the inevitable question about a possible return as Agent Fox Mulder after the series was left hanging with Season 11. When interviewer Daniel Hartvig Nielsen poses the idea that creator Chris Carter is contemplating ideas for the series to return, Duchovny prefaces his answer by saying he doesn’t actively think about the series any longer, but unambiguously declares, “Chris...

If you’re a horror fan you’ll have one. A memory of a moment, or a series of moments, where you first felt the thrill of the genre. That sparkly feeling of fear and delight, when you want to look away but you feel like you can’t.

In 2015 Pixar and director Pete Docter brought us Inside Out, a brilliant, moving exploration of how our emotions affect our relationships as we grow older. The Oscar-winning film’s script was heavily inspired by the filmmakers’ research into neuropsychology and the mysteries of how the human mind works. Now five years later, Docter and a new team have gone in a completely different direction–the metaphysical–with Soul.
Den of Geek was given a chance to view the first 20 minutes of the film and speak afterward with Docter, co-writer Kemp Powers, and producer Dana Murray about what may be Pixar’s most unabashedly gorgeous and advanced animated film to date.
Soul stars Jamie Foxx as the voice of Joe Gardner, a New York City middle school teacher whose dream of becoming a professional jazz musician seems to end prematurely when an accident sends him to The Great Before. This is...

It’s impossible to see The Right Stuff, Disney+’s new drama series about NASA’s Mercury 7 astronauts, and not think about the award-winning 1983 film of the same name, but those comparisons don’t do this streaming series version any favors. Where the film is widely and rightly lauded for its authentic and ultimately inspiring depiction of the real lives behind the men who pioneered the U.S. space program, the small-screen version of The Right Stuff never gets off the ground.
On paper, I almost always enjoy an uplifting tale of humanity’s infinite possibility to do and be better than we have been, and regularly weep over stories about our collective ability to work together to achieve great things. Space stories are a particularly potent example of both of those things, as humans look toward the stars and risk their...

The Madden franchise and I go way back. I poured a lot of fifth-grade free time into Madden NFL 97 for the Super Nes, and I can still hear that edition’s chiptune menu music in my head when I think about the series.
But, I have to be honest. For all the Madden games I’ve owned over the years — give or take 15, by my count — I’d trade them all for a high-quality arcade-style football experience.
Quality is highly subjective when we’re talking about a video game. For you, quality arcade football might be EA Sports Big’s NFL Street franchise, which released three titles annually between 2004 and 2006 before taking its streetball and going home. Or maybe you checked out 2017’s Kickstarter-funded Mutant Football League from Digital Dreams Entertainment, a way-out-there unlicensed experience featuring monsters with parody names like Bomb Shady, Wham Neutron, Sven Rottenburger, and Baker...

The X-Files has always been a cartoon at heart. Dana Scully’s hair has always been a little too red. Fox “Spooky” Mulder’s unimaginative suit and tie was a caricature of federal officer wear. It’s fitting that Fox is developing an animated comedy spinoff of The X-Files which will be executive produced by the series creator Chris Carter, according to Variety. The spinoff will be called The X-Files: Albuquerque.
Fox hasn’t quite committed to the script or presentation yet. The spinoff will not revolve around the characters David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson brought to life. It will revolve around an office of misfit agents who take on the cases the bureau’s X-Files consider too ridiculous to bother with. They take the castoffs, the ones that would only fit into B movies.
The pilot will be written by Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko, who wrote Paradise Pd for Netflix.

For the UFC, there is no season. Fights happen year round for the world’s premier mixed martial arts promotion. So, unlike annualized franchises such as Madden, EA Sports’ UFC franchise isn’t beholden to the same yearly release structure.
But even for the UFC series, the two-and-a-half-year gap between UFC 3 and the upcoming UFC 4, slated for an Aug. 14 release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, is a long time. Even the transition between the former Thq-published UFC Undisputed franchise and the first EA Sports UFC in 2014 wasn’t quite as long.
Rest assured, creative director Brian Hayes and his team have used the time to make major changes to some of the more maligned gameplay systems from previous iterations of the series. Every element of the octagon action has been either tweaked or overhauled.
Perhaps no system has been as obtuse for the greatest number of UFC players over...

The Twilight Zone Season 2 Episode 5
Remember the opening of Ghostbusters? After that poor librarian got her socks knocked-off by the library ghost, we meet Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), and he’s testing two people for psychic powers. Venkman was using something called Zener cards, known mostly for their use in testing psychic abilities. In the opening of Ghostbusters, the Zener cards are a punchline: Venkman is faking the results to make the “wavy line” guy look bad and to flirt with a woman. But what if the Zener cards weren’t a joke? What if the opening of Ghostbusters suggested a totally different type of story: A young woman pretends not to know the answer to every Zener card, even though she totally does.

The Twilight Zone Season 2 Episode 4
One of my favorite episodes of the original Twilight Zone is called “A Nice Place to Visit.” It’s about a dirty rotten gambler who finds himself in heaven, only to discover that he’s actually in hell. Sorry for the spoiler for a 1960 episode up front, but the best thing about most classic episodes of the Zone are also, usually connected to the last-minute twist. In episode 4 of Season 2 of the new Jordan Peele-produced Twilight Zone, the idea of success-as-punishment is repackaged fairly simply. It’s not the most exciting episode of the new season, but it also, somewhat profoundly, might be the most realistic.
For those of us who watched season 1 of the new Twilight Zone, the essential feeling of “Ovation,” will, at least superficially, feel a little bit like the episode “The Comedian.” Both...

The following contains spoilers for The Twilight Zone season 2 episode 1.
The first episode in The Twilight Zone season 2 feels right at home with the classic installments from the original black-and-white series. A frustrated guy named Phil (Jimmi Simpson) falls in love with a voice in his head. He’s not crazy, it is a real person, and through the accidental miracle of telepathy, a woman named Annie (Gillian Jacobs) seems to fall for him, too. Because this telepathic meet-cute happens in The Twilight Zone, you know this probably isn’t going to end well.
Bringing his usual cocktail of kind jumpiness and quirky charm, Jimmi Simpson presents an utterly realistic version of how a person like this would actually react in this situation. If you love Simpson for his roles in It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia or Westworld, you’ll find something familiar here. But, the character of Phil is...

The Twilight Zone certainly did the anthology series thing before it was cool, but CBS All Access’ rebooted version from executive producers Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg seems to be playing catch-up. The original series paved the way for science fiction in the public consciousness and many worthy successors and imitators have earned their own attention and acclaim, especially recently. It’s no one’s fault that series like Black Mirror have stolen the new Twilight Zone’s thunder, but when the new iteration tries to keep up with the Jones’ and lean into its darker or preachy instincts, it doesn’t feel like a pale imitation of the Rod Serling classic; it feels like Netflix leftovers.
To be clear, advance reviewing The Twilight Zone season 2 pre-air is sort of a fool’s errand. As everyone knows, each episode is its own story, and as the first season made clear,...

When Rod Serling first invited viewers into The Twilight Zone, his dimension of sight, sound, and a land of wondrous imagination 60 years ago, there was no looking back. Once audiences had crossed over into that realm between science and superstition their minds—and television storytelling—were permanently altered.
Running for five seasons, from October 1959 until June 1964, The Twilight Zone helped legitimize sci-fi as a serious genre on television. Its cautionary tales of dark irony and serendipity continue to influence popular media. From The X-Files, to The Simpsons, Black Mirror, Fringe, The Mist, Ex Machina, Her, Rod Serling’s anthology series has a permanence the writer himself didn’t anticipate—and is frequently considered one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
You can see The Twilight Zone influence in Amazon Studios’ latest feature, The Vast of Night. The film from director Andrew Patterson, which...

This Ramy review contains no spoilers and is based on all 10 episodes.
When Hulu’s Ramy debuted in 2019, it won the audience award at SXSW for episodic premieres, netted creator/writer/star Ramy Youssef a Golden Globe for Best Actor in Television Series – Musical or Comedy, and garnered widespread critical acclaim. Still, while onstage accepting his award, Youssef joked “I know you guys haven’t seen my show.” So how do you get audiences to tune in to an autofiction about a first generation Egyptian-American caught between living a millennial lifestyle while maintaining his Muslim beliefs? Simple: you add Academy Award-winner and fellow American Muslim Mahershala Ali.
With added star power and a darker tone, Ramy Season 2 continues to offer a fresh perspective on tried and true sitcom beats while also focusing deeper on spirituality and how the pursuit of spirituality can sometimes be a selfish endeavor. The season picks...

Fernando Tatis Jr., Jeff McNeil and Bo Bichette each wound up having a pretty solid Sunday night in their Mlb The Show Players League debuts.
And, well, Ryne Stanek’s pup peed on the floor.
Night three was one of highs and lows all around for the six streaming competitors in the new Mlb The Show 20 league, which debuted Friday. Here’s a look at some of the highs and lows from the action.
Fernandomania: Digital Edition
Tatis found his San Diego Padres down 3-2 with 2 out in the top of the second, with McNeil’s New York Mets having just surrendered a solo shot to right followed by a four-pitch walk. It looked as if the mini rally would die with a liner to center, but the outfielder wasn’t quite under the ball marker as it got down for an error that proved costly in the next at-bat.

Warning: This Star Trek: Picard article contains spoilers through the Season 1 finale.
Star Wars fans know this song: man commits terrible acts and is ultimately redeemed. It’s especially thorny when a romantic relationship is involved, with power dynamics and emotional manipulation part of the fabric of the relationship. In Star Trek: Picard, the Romulan agent Narek and android Soji Asha flirt with this trope without ever completely falling into it. When their romantic relationship thrives, they both have power over one another in different ways. And when they break up over galactic-scale decisions, they don’t get back together. Narek isn’t the main character of Picard—Soji and Captain Jean-Luc Picard himself are, and the show knows that. In a pop culture landscape where the “bad boy” character often receives an overabundance of attention from inside the writers’ room, it’s remarkable that Picard created a satisfying...

As one of the longer-running shows on Syfy, The Magicians has delivered plenty of entertainment with its humor, its universal themes, and its spellbinding goddamn magic. Although it has not been renewed for a sixth season, cancellation feels like a harsh term for the end of this show, especially since part of its story overlaps with the final book of Lev Grossman’s trilogy from which the series is adapted. With that in mind, we spoke to all three of the showrunners from the past seasons to get a sense of the conclusion and look back on the accomplishments of this great series.
Den Of Geek: Was there a sense that, even if you had been renewed, this was one last chance to adapt the big events of The Magician’s Land?

This Future Man review contains no spoilers.
“Do you know how many times we’ve turned a death sentence into a life paragraph?”
“A true artist never repeats himself,” is said in the first episode of Future Man’s final season and this show has managed to embrace that ideology every year. This series mixes things up in fun ways for each of its three seasons, but this final year takes the biggest swings yet.
In a show that’s deeply interested in consequences and self-discovery, this last season explores those themes in its most significant ways yet. The concluding chapter of Future Man is bolder, crazier, and more cathartic than ever before. As much as this season breaks the show’s formula and goes off the map for these last installments, they’re also a glowing love letter to the series and why it’s so special. With nothing left to lose,...

Against all climatological odds, March 26, 2020 proved to be the perfect weather day for Major League Baseball’s Opening Day. The temperature reached 57 degrees in New York, 67 in Los Angeles, and stayed in the 60s through much of the country in-between. It was a ideal time for communities to gather together, sit in the sun, enjoy some hotdogs, and take in America’s Pastime.
Of course, we didn’t get to do any of that on March 26. Nor will we the week after that, nor for many weeks still yet to come. Baseball, like everything else, is on hold while the world deals with the surging coronavirus pandemic. But while the games may not be getting played, the spirit of the sport soldiers on.

In the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak, millions of people across the globe are stuck indoors, practicing social distancing and looking for anything that they can to keep them entertained. Luckily, Netflix heard the cries of the quarantined and released Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, the most truly insane, captivating docuseries to hit the service since Making a Murderer.
At the center of the aggressively weird saga is Joe Exotic, an eccentric Oklahoma zoo owner with a personality bigger than the big cats he controversially keeps in captivity. Joe is an odd character for a plethora of reasons, but one of his strangest passions that is showcased in the doc is his budding country music career. Though he’s responsible for a horde of wild animals, it appears that Joe spent most of his time recording country songs and making low-budget videos that he then packaged in DVDs and...

There are more tigers in captivity in America than there are in the wild in the whole world, we’re told in this incredible seven part Netflix original documentary. But don’t expect a solemn series about conservation. What starts out as the story of an escalating feud between an Oklahoma man and a Florida woman who both love big cats, becomes a more sordid and surprising expose of an industry that allows scummy men to use endangered species as commodities to wrangle sex, money, and power. Tiger King is absolutely one of the best documentaries that has landed on Netflix in a while, with each episode bringing incredible twists. The fact that the protagonist of the series insisted on filming so much of his life anyway is a massive bonus for filmmakers Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin. A character piece focusing on several larger than life players, a story...

The Magicians has been a force of nature from the very start, growing a loyal audience and weaving a tale that bridged our world with the storybook land of Fillory and has become more and more complex ever since. Given its massive appeal, including our glowing reviews over the years, the anticipation was high for the return of season 5, which turned out to be the show’s final season.
The logline for The Magicians season 5 spoke of plenty of magical mayhem that was in store:
Last season, magic was saved, but at a terrible cost: the life of Quentin Coldwater, who died heroically to save his friends— and the world. Julia, Alice, Eliot, Margo, Penny and their friends (and frenemies) must learn to navigate a world without him. Now, a new threat has arisen: in freeing magic, the balance tipped the other way and there’s too damn much of it,...

In what we hope is our temporary reality and not the new normal, streaming platforms have become a primary source of entertainment (if they weren’t already) while we bunker down in an attempt to stomp out the coronavirus. With sports events postponed or cancelled and movie theaters barricaded shut, audiences are looking for other ways to have communal experiences from the comfort of their homes. There are several platforms that essentially apply the Twitch model to streaming films, TV shows or YouTube videos: Rave, &Chill, and ShareTube. The one gaining steam right now is Netflix Party, a Chrome-only browser extension which we’ll focus on here to show you how these platforms can satisfy your desire to interact with other human beings during this anxious and scary time.

The True Detective season 1 alums are working on a new case for FX.
FX must have asked the right questions when the cable network took a meeting with True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto and season 1 star Matthew McConaughey. The showrunner and leading man are set to team up once more for a new drama on FX titled Redeemer, created by Pizzolatto and inspired by Patrick Colman's novel The Churchgoer.
As part of the pact, Pizzolatto is moving his overall deal from HBO to FX, where he’ll create and produce new projects for the network. The development will likely end Pizzolatto’s roller coaster three-season tenure as showrunner and writer of True Detective, however the door is still open for HBO to continue the series under new creative leadership.
In a sense, Redeemer will return McConaughey and Pizzolatto, who will both executive produce the series, to familiar haunts.

Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios' Florida outpost was the epicenter of the network—from game shows like Double Dare to sketch comedy with All That—throughout the ‘90s. The impact of a fictional character death doesn’t just play out on screen. Fans who make an investment in a TV show can find themselves grieving the loss of a favorite character in a way they never expected—through emotions that mirror how we mourn in real life. A recent Popular Science article notes that professional counselors consider this legitimate grief, and marketing studies found that people “not only form relationships with their favorite characters, but with the real-life humans they watched the series alongside or went to all the movies with.” This takes on new meaning in an age where people can find a home for whatever their fandom is in an instant online. Magic is no longer rationed in the world of The Magicians. And that’s not necessarily a good thing.
Magic is flowing freely once again at Brakebills, in Fillory, and beyond. To override the Library’s strict system of rationing, it took our heroes a full season of quests, popped-out fairy eyeballs, sidekicks rising to the occasion, a hedgewitch alliance, personal growth, fearless sacrifice, and Josh’s muffins. That only accounts for about an eighth of what happened during The Magicians season 4, the show’s fantastically sprawling, thematically ambitious, and most controversial season yet. For those compelled to recap the whole adventure, I’d advise swiping Dean Fogg’s emergency bottle of booze first. You’ll need it.

You think picking the best TV shows of the 2010s was easy? Think again.
Throughout the span of this volatile decade, the entity known as television had a bit of an identity crisis. As the era of streaming began, more shows were available than ever before and on an increasingly diverse array of channels and technologies to boot. “TV” became something far beyond just the square box that sat in our living rooms.
But regardless of what you call it, television as a medium still blossomed during the 2010s. “Prestige” networks like FX, AMC, and HBO kept up the good work while new streaming options like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and eventually Disney+ sprouted up all around them. The CW successfully rebranded under the Arrowverse and teen-friendly melodramas like Riverdale. The final effect of...

From Fleabag to Pen15 and everything in between, we count down the best TV comedies of 2019.
Comedy television did a lot of growing up in the 2010s. As we kiss goodbye the decade, 2019 was another prime example that the genre continues to take bold creative risks, visually innovate, and push back on the inane idea that “edgy” material has been outlawed in contemporary comedy.
This year we saw the fine line between comedy and drama shrink to mind-blowingly awesome results (you can classify 3 of our top 4 picks as “dramedy”). Animated comedies that take longer to produce than feature films redefined any preconceived notions about that subgenre. It was exciting to see refreshing new voices tell stories that connected with audiences on a deeply personal level. And a sketch comedy show finally made it...

The executive producers of Lost in Space tell us where a potential season 3 may take the Robinson family.
Lost in Space Season 3 has yet to be officially confirmed by Netflix, but the executive producers may have learned something from spending so much time with the always prepared Maureen Robinson. The creative minds behind the show already have a roadmap for the third season planned out.
*Caution: Season 2 spoilers ahead*
“A big thing happened at the end of season 2: the kids and parents are split apart,” showrunner Zack Estrin tells Den of Geek. “We’re going to pick up with two separate stories in season 3.”
The cliffhanger ending of Lost in Space season 2 leaves several storylines up in the air. So far, the Robinsons haven’t met a problem they couldn’t solve together. Now, apart, a potential third season may be their most daunting challenge yet.

Here we present the best episodes of television in 2019 from Camp Redwood to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
We stopped pretending that we could crown the best TV show of any given year a while ago.
The past decade saw an explosion of quality original programming broadcast on so many different channels and streaming services that it’s a masochistic pursuit to even try to keep up. How can you confidently declare a cumulative “best of” list when there’s likely something sitting in your Netflix queue just waiting to shake up your Top 5? Our staff is comprised of some of the most prolific binge-watchers on the internet, and even we can’t consume everything produced for TV in a given year.
So instead of posting a subjective-by-experience list of the best series that...

After leaving us with a bombshell season 1 ending, Daybreak won't live to see another day.
The genre-bending series Daybreak fought off countless ghoulies during its 10-episode first season, but it couldn’t avoid a cold death at the hands of its streamer. Netflix canceled the post-apocalyptic series, which was only released on October 24th.
Series co-creator and executive producer Aron Eli Coleite addressed the cancelation in a statement to fans, who he dubbed “daybreakers,” on Twitter: “No one is as heartbroken as we are that we can’t share more of this ride with you. But we are so grateful to have gotten to bring it so far.” You can read Coleite’s full statement here.
Based on a comic of the same name by Brian Ralph, Daybreak was set in a near-future in which teenagers are the last survivors of an atomic bomb, though some...

Ahead of its premiere, CBS All Access has already picked up Sir Patrick Stewart's Star Trek: Picard Season 2.
The buzz for CBS All Access’ next Star Trek spinoff has been steadily building since the first Star Trek: Picard trailer dropped at San Diego Comic-Con. In another sign that the hype is real for Sir Patrick Stewart’s reprisal of his role as Jean-Luc Picard, CBS has now officially greenlit Star Trek: Picard season 2 before the first season has aired a single episode.
According to Deadline, which first broke the report, season 2 will consist of 10 episodes. Season 1, which releases on January 23rd, will also comprise 10 episodes. The series will lose its season 1 showrunner, Michael Chabon, who will step down to work on a different TV series for CBS’ sister network Showtime: an adaptation of his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. Chabon will...

South Park Season 23 Episode 10
Santa Claus is as old as South Park itself. Saint Nick first appeared in Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s underground short “The Spirit of Christmas,” the viral video that led to the creation of South Park—long before viral videos were even a thing. The concept of “Father Christmas” dates back to 16th century England. So you can forgive Kris Kringle if he’s a little conservative in the philosophical sense. In this modern age, the spirit of Christmas has yet again taken on new meaning in the town of South Park.
The South Park season 23 finale, “Christmas Snow,” sees Santa fighting the town not with his fists—Lord knows this version of Santa never shies away...

Matt Groening's historical animated comedy Disenchantment will be back on Netflix for season 3.
Did you really think a Matt Groening show would get canceled? Princess Bean, Luci, and Elfo will all be returning to Dreamland in 2020 after Netflix confirmed Disenchantment season 3 in an announcement on Twitter.
Disenchantment, a side passion project from The Simpsons creator Groening, debuted in August 2018. Season 2, dubbed “Part 2,” released in September 2019. No specific release date has been set for Disenchantment season 3, but we’ll keep you posted.
The medieval period comedy follows Princess Bean, an adventurous and outspoken heiress to Dreamland, voiced by Abbi Jacobson. Much of the series follows the follies of Bean, her person demon Luci (Eric Andre), and her buddy Elfo (Nat Faxon). Futurama alums Billy West and John Dimaggio also have prominent voice roles. While Groening's previous work, The Simpsons, remains contemporary yet still timeless, and Futurama was set 1,000 years in the future,...
