Adam Driver will be next seen headlining Francis Ford Coppola’s epic sci-fi dream project Megalopolis. The film sees an ensemble cast that includes Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Aubrey Plaza, Shia Labeouf, and more. Coppola recently released a teaser for the film which sees Driver stop time with a watch as he stands atop a building overlooking New York.
Coppola’s magnum opus has been in the making since the ‘80s, with the filmmaker reportedly financing the film himself by selling a part of his wine empire. While the film struggles to find a distributor, Driver’s comments on the film and his character, Cesar, have excited fans more than anything.

Martin Sheen has taped a new digital spot for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, calling attention to one of the party’s biggest challenges this cycle: retaining their Senate majority.
“While I played a fictional president on television, I’ve spent my life outside of acting devoted to political activism. Frankly, I’m concerned about what’s at stake in this year’s elections,” Sheen said.
“This year’s elections will be some of the most important in our nation’s history. With health care, voting rights, climate action, and the very future of our democracy all on the line, I’m asking you to join me and help defend our Democratic Senate majority,” he said.
The spot will be sent out on social media to engage grassroots supporters.

Fans were so awed by Charlie Sheen‘s portrayal of a fictionalized version of himself in the Max series ‘Bookie’ that they have said so as many times as are needed for the show to decide to bring him in for the second ride.

Oliver Stone is more than just a filmmaker. The man enlisted in the United States Army during the time of the Vietnam War and when he returned, he decided to tell the harrowing stories of war through the art of filmmaking. His 1986 film Platoon starring was one such film, but it could’ve ended up looking a bit different if actors like Keanu Reeves and Kevin Costner had agreed to be a part of it.
A still from Platoon (1986)
So why did they turn down a film that would go on to become critically acclaimed, do great at the box office, and receive not one, but four Academy Awards? Well, given the fact that the film was based on the Vietnam War and Oliver Stone’s firsthand experience with it, the topic might have been a bit too much for the actors.

But how did Major League reach this status? How did it become one of the most quotable comedies of the decade? How did the cast pull off pitching, swinging and winning like a professional baseball team? How did it go on to represent Cleveland even though it wasn’t even shot there? And why did they have to make those sequels? Well, let’s go juuuuuust a bit outside to find out: Wtf Happened to this Movie?!
You might be surprised to know that Major League comes courtesy of the same guy who won an Oscar for writing The Sting.

Neil Gaiman, the creator of Good Omens, once detailed on Tumblr that his entry through the pearly gates into Heaven may depend on one thing: the fact that he was the first to put David Tennant and Michael Sheen together.
You may wonder what could’ve prompted the renowned author to reach such a conclusion. Interestingly enough, the on-screen pair’s shared presentation at the BAFTA TV Awards 2020, when they announced the winner of the Best Mini-Series, was what caused it.
The bit, though brief, reflected the two stars’ shared chemistry. While their affiliation has left an indelible mark on the pop-culture tapestry, it is relatively new, dating back to 2019 with Neil Gaiman’s Good Omens Season 1.

First of all – is the BBC allowed to air a drama without a detective or a horse-drawn carriage in it? Can somebody check?
Crime and period’s drama dominance isn’t the only modern TV trend bucked by The Way. Actor Michael Sheen’s directorial debut is a wild throwback to the society-falls-apart TV of the past: Threads. “Oppenheimer” swept the BAFTAs on Sunday night, winning awards for director Christopher Nolan and actor Cillian Murphy as well as taking home the prize for best film.
Overall, the movie took home seven golden BAFTA masks, with “Poor Things” coming in second place with five wins.
BAFTA chair Sarah Putt opened the ceremony at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Sunday night by welcoming the star-studded audience, which included Prince William, who arrived solo as his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, continues to recuperate at home following an operation. William, who is president of BAFTA, did not give a speech, no doubt in part because of renewed interest in his personal life following his father King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis last month.
In her speech, Putt said she was sending Catherine and the King “our very best wishes” before handing over to the night’s host, “Doctor Who” star David Tennant.

Charlie Sheen reunited with former boss Chuck Lorre on the set of Bookie… so does that mean a Two and a Half Men reboot is imminent? Jon Cryer has his doubts. “Oh gosh, oh gosh, yeah, I don’t know how that happens,” Cryer said about a possible reboot during Friday’s episode of The View. The actor acknowledged that it’s “wonderful” that Sheen is “doing a lot better” since the days of his 2011 feud with Lorre and subsequent exit from Two and a Half Men. (Sheen told Yahoo Entertainment in 2021 that his erratic behavior was “an unfortunate sequence of public and insane events” that he attributed to “drugs or the residual effects of drugs” and “an ocean of stress and a volcano of disdain.”) “[Sheen] and I have not spoken in a few years, but he’s doing a lot better, which obviously I’m happy about,” Cryer added on Friday.

Jon Cryer isn’t jumping at the idea of a Two and a Half Men reboot with Charlie Sheen.
During a recent appearance on The View, the actor was asked if he thought there could be an opportunity for a reboot of the hit CBS sitcom, which ran from 2003 to 2015, in the future.
“Oh gosh, oh gosh. Yeah, I don’t know how that happens,” Cryer admitted. “I mean the thing is, Charlie is doing a lot better now which is wonderful. He and I have not spoken in a few years but he’s doing a lot better, which obviously I am happy about. And obviously, Chuck Lorre, who produced Two and a Half Men… one of the hardest things for him when Two and a Half Men fell apart the way it did was he really thought he was friends with Charlie. And that he lost that was really hard for him.
Jon Cryer appeared on the Feb. 9 episode of “The View” and more or less shot down the idea of a “Two and a Half Men” reboot ever being made. Cryer starred on the CBS mega-hit sitcom for 12 seasons, eight of which he co-headlined with Charlie Sheen. Ashton Kutcher replaced Sheen for the final four seasons after Sheen exited the show amid controversy over comments he made about creator Chuck Lorre. Production on the show’s eighth season was cut short after Sheen checked into rehab for drugs.
“Oh gosh, oh gosh I don’t know how that happens,” Cryer said about a reboot. “Thing is, Charlie is doing a lot better now which is wonderful. He and I have not spoken in a few years but he’s doing a lot better, which obviously I am happy about. Chuck Lorre, who produced ‘Two and a Half Men’…one of the...

Fans hoping for a Two and a Half Men reboot shall go wanting, at least when it comes to Jon Cryer getting back to business with Charlie Sheen. Cryer, who co-starred with Charlie Sheen and Angus T. Jones on the CBS sitcom, is aware of the demand for a reunion but feels Sheen may have poisoned the well. Speaking with The View, Jon Cryer confessed that he feels the ship has sailed for a Two and Half Men reboot, saying he would prefer to focus on his new sitcom, Extended Family.
Discussing the possibility of a Two and Half Men reboot, Cryer told Alyssa Farah Griffin of The View he’s aware of Sheen mending the once-broken bridge between himself and the sitcom’s producer Chuck Lorre. However, he’s uninterested in giving the Two and a Half Men formula another try. In so many words, Cryer said Sheen sabotaged...

Jon Cryer has no particular interest in erasing the Ashton Kutcher era of Two and a Half Men and revisiting the CBS sitcom with former co-star Charlie Sheen.
During an appearance on Friday’s episode of The View, the two-time Emmy winner was asked if he’d ever consider a revival of Two and a Half Men now that Sheen and series co-creator Chuck Lorre have buried the hatchet — and his response suggested that he would not be willing to open that door again.

Update, with video: Probably best not to hold your breath for any possible Two and a Half Men reboots. Jon Cryer doesn’t seem to be.
Cryer, who co-starred with Charlie Sheen on the famously troubled but immensely popular CBS 2003-2015 sitcom, visited The View today to promote his latest series, the NBC sitcom Extended Family. When the inevitable question about the possibility of a Two and a Half Men reboot series, Cryer was considerably less than enthusiastic.
When View co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pointed out that Sheen had recently rekindled his friendship with Men producer Chuck Lorre (the two are working on the Max comedy Bookie), she asked whether Cryer would be open to a Men reboot.
But Cryer suggested that Sheen sabotaged the show’s initial run, and that the prospect of working together again “for any length of time” is not a high priority for the Pretty in Pink actor.

Playwright James Graham has teamed up with Michael Sheen for three part BBC drama, The Way. Here’s the trailer.
Michael Sheen has spent a good portion of his career playing real-life figures, perhaps most notably David Frost in Ron Howard’s film version of Peter Morgan’s Frost/Nixon.
He has also played journalist Robbie Ross in Wilde, writer Jeremy Dyson in The League Of Gentlemen’s Apocalypse, Chris Tarrant in Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? scandal drama Quiz and he played a heightened version of himself opposite David Tennant in Staged. He’s about to take on the role of Aneurin “Nye” Bevan in Tim Price’s play Nye at the National Theatre. Likewise, James Graham often writes political plays based around recent events.
The two have now teamed up for BBC drama The Way, which although it takes its inspiration from real events, follows fictional characters.

Watching the extended director’s cut DVD of Kingdom of Heaven nearly 18 years after its release (and nearly 20 in the case of the film’s original theatrical run) is a curious thing. Among Ridley Scott’s many insights into what may still be his most beautiful looking historical epic to date, the director muses on the commentary track that the home media market is something of a godsend. Because even two decades ago, the modus operandi was “faster and simpler.”
“I think the value of this digital market is people are more willing or more ready to sit at home and enjoy the longer version,” Scott reflected. “Thank God for DVD.”
That long lost home market of yore really was a gift to filmmakers, and few of them benefited from it better than Scott. The British director famously achieved a kind of absolution when he was able to re-edit Blade Runner...

Jon Cryer has proved himself a marketable quantity in the network sitcom game, a success most recently reflected in his starring role on the new NBC and Peacock show “Extended Family.”
Cryer, in an interview on the “Wtf With Marc Maron” podcast, recalled a key effort that helped cement that status — his part on the hit Charlie Sheen-starring sitcom “Two and a Half Men.”
Cryer said he remembered how Sheen’s role came together and how CBS played a big part.
“CBS wanted Charlie Sheen on the air so badly, and you could sense that,” Cryer said. “Based on, he had done ‘Spin City’ for a couple of seasons, and everybody was like, ‘Wow, he’s really good.’ Cause he took over for Michael J. Fox, and everybody said, ‘That is a bad idea.’ And then he turned out to be good on the show, with a totally different character.

For reasons yet to be explained, a super Pac supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s presidential campaign falsely advertised a forthcoming fundraiser featuring a performance from famed Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and several other celebrity guests.
At the end of December, the Daily Mail reported — citing unspecified “organizers” — that Kennedy’s campaign would throw a “multi-million dollar” fundraiser later this month for the anti-vax candidate in Indian Wells, a resort town in the California desert. Supposedly, this event would also double as a birthday party for the independent candidate, who turns 70 on Jan.

“I will wholeheartedly support Joe Biden and the Democratic ticket for 2024,” Sheen wrote.

Charlie Sheen left Two and a Half Men in 2011 after eight seasons due to a public dispute with the show’s co-creator, Chuck Lorre. This dispute involved Sheen making derogatory comments about Lorre, which eventually led to Sheen’s dismissal from the show. Speaking to ETOnline, Cryer, who played Alan Harper on all 262 episodes of the hit CBS sitcom, said of a potential reunion, “I’m not going to rule anything out, but I haven’t talked to Charlie.” “I’m really glad they made up,” he continued, referring to Lorre and Sheen putting their past problems behind them. “I can only say for Chuck, clearly. He has the enormous relief of somebody who’s been able to rekindle a friendship that was really meaningful to him.” Lorre and Sheen had publicly fallen out with one another towards the end of Two and a Half Men, and the tensions have lingered in the years since the show ended.

Charlie Sheen is looking to successfully get back in the good graces of the public eye, showing a level of maturity in reuniting with Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre on his new series Bookie. But will he and Jon Cryer ever be back on speaking terms?
Jon Cryer recently told TVLine that he is still a fan of Lorre but hasn’t spoken with Sheen since around the time Two and a Half Men went off the air. “I have loved working with Chuck…[After Two and a Half Men] I was on Kominsky Method, and his new show [Bookie] really does sound like fun. That being said, I haven’t spoken with Charlie in seven-some plus years, so I have no idea where he’s at.” However, he was fairly optimistic in potentially making amends with his former co-star, saying, “I don’t close anything off. Francis Ford Coppola's bleak Vietnam War picture "Apocalypse Now" is not only one of the best films of 1979, but is handily one of the finest, most important films of its decade. Using Joseph Conrad's 1899 novella "Heart of Darkness" as a template, Copolla transposed the book's action from the late 1800s Congo to the jungles of Cambodia, and, in so doing, exposed the madness and horror of the Vietnam War in harrowing, soul-hollowing terms. As Captain Willars (Martin Sheen) treks deeper and deeper into the chaos of the natural world -- drifting ever closer to the insane, cult-founding rogue Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando) -- reality begins to dissipate. Eventually, madness and violence are all that remain, and war is reduced to its base function: brazen, meaningless destruction and cruelty. "Apocalypse Now" is a great, great film.
Curiously, a lot of war enthusiasts love "Apocalypse Now," seemingly ignoring the film's...

At one point, Charlie Sheen was the highest-paid actor on television, but that all came crashing down when he was fired from Two and a Half Men. After such a major falling out with series creator Chuck Lorre, it was a surprise when it was announced that Sheen would be reuniting with Lorre for his new Max comedy series Bookie.
While speaking with Deadline, Charlie Sheen opened up about his tumultuous exit from Two and a Half Men, saying that if he “hadn’t f***ed everything up, we could have done it as long as we wanted to.” Despite the ugliness towards the end, Sheen still has a lot of great memories from the series.
“Years of great memories, when we were cooking with gas and we were delivering something that people were really invested in, really enjoying, and were really connected to,” Sheen said. “And we didn’t phone it in.
