This movie is by all standards awful. The plot is so extremely thin, the actors awful, especially the extremely skinny Modesty Blaise.
The story is told as a series of flashbacks to Modesty' childhood. Growing up in a refugee camp and her escape from it. Now living in Tangeer, Marocco working in a casino. It's boring, poorly acted, poorly told. Don't see it.

Don't know about the writers background, but wtf were they thinking about? Fleeing from Balkan to Marocco? And that old man being an ultra skilled kung-fu, Marshall arts expert, and then his not able to fight off a couple of boys? And really, what are the odds that you can WALK from Balkan to Marocco without any ID. Jeez.
