I'm not much for a critic, I don't usually do reviews, or say my say in a film mostly cause I forget half the time. However this latest iteration of the brothers is something I was most excited for, one of my favourite childhood films were TMNT ( 2007 )
That was the first time I was introduced to the Turtles and I've loved them ever since, from their character dynamics, to their development and their teammaking decisions ( when they all work as a team ) .
Granted I've not really watched any of the TV shows nor the classic films, TMNT was really the only thing I saw with them until the live action films,
Then I heard about a new film for 2022 that was a film for the series I had never watched, I was like; sure why not. And then today, when it finally premiered on Netlfix, I watched it and boy was I not disappointed.
For the first time since 2007, I finally was able to watch a film that felt a similar dynamic that my childhood film managed to presume, I loved this movie.
The plot was funny, it had its sad moments and its exciting moments, the characters felt fleshed out, the only issue I had is that I didn't agree how they designed Splinter, other than that I still loved him.
The Krang felt like a powerful foe once again and posed a great threat to Earth and it was up to Casey to find a way to convince the Turtles to work together!
I won't lie, I wasn't used to seeing Rath be the one with common sense, and the most mature out of the Turtles, I just remembered Leo being that. But it was great for their characters. Leo's sacrifice at the end really made some tears, I legitimately thought he wasn't coming back.
My review ain't big, this is my first time, but from what I watched, I'm more excited for the upcoming cinema release for Seth Rogan's attempt with the Turtles.
10/10 film. Highly recommended.
