Marvel Studios latest live-action TV series "Echo", spinning off from the "Hawkeye" TV series, is now shooting in Atlanta for streaming in 2023, following 'hearing impaired' super-powered native American 'Maya Lopez' (Alaqua Cox), alongside Marvel Comics blind crime-fighter 'Daredevil' (Charlie Cox):
"...with a hand-print across her face, 'Maya Lopez' is an Olympic-level athlete possessing 'photographic reflexes', defined as the uncanny ability to perfectly copy other people's movements. Just by watching other people, she has become a concert-level pianist, a martial artist, a highly skilled acrobat and gifted ballerina.
"She also gained the acrobatic abilities of 'Daredevil' and the uncanny aim of 'Bullseye'. But her deafness is a drawback as she relies on visual cues that render her helpless in the dark, and her ability to communicate by reading lips prevents her from taking commands and communicating with people who are wearing masks or are not in direct visual contact.

“Daredevil” star Charlie Cox is no fan of Ben Affleck’s 2003 “Daredevil” movie. During his recent visit to Middle East Film & Comic Con 2022 in Abu Dhabi (via People), Cox revealed he had never watched the 2003 superhero movie until after he was cast as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the Netflix-Marvel series.
“I watched it once, and then I wanted to go and do my own thing,” Cox said. “I hadn’t seen it before I got the role. I watched it when I got the role.”
While Cox said Affleck does “a really good Matt Murdock” and that “I like his Matt Murdock,” he added, “I don’t love the movie. I feel like the movie tried to do too much and it was a little tonally confused.”
“They had everyone in that movie — they had Kingpin, they had Bullseye, they had Elektra, they had Karen Page, they had Foggy,...

These days, Charlie Cox spends a lot of time talking about Daredevil. Three years after he last played the Marvel character on Netflix, he made a surprise cameo in “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which marked the superhero’s official entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since then, speculation has been rampant about Cox’s Daredevil appearing in future Marvel movies, with Cox himself gleefully stoking the flames.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has made it clear that Cox will be the only actor to play Daredevil in the MCU moving forward, and while Cox denies knowing anything about Marvel’s future plans, he has repeatedly said that he is game to return as Daredevil in any capacity.
While Cox’s passion for the character is undeniable, he does not seem to have much passion for the 2003 film that starred Ben Affleck as the blind superhero. In fact, he had not...

True crime dramas have become a staple of British television and streaming services. Their popularity seems endless and ever growing. Episodes are devoured at incredible rates as the true stories behind the dramatizations are the start of many an internet k-hole.
The British true crime drama has fallen into a somewhat formulaic way of being made. The narratives are almost classical; a clear, yet flawed hero, triumphing over an unquestionably evil villain. The focus is either on the lead police officer investigating the case, or the perpetrator of the crimes. Both or one of them is usually white, they are almost always men. If the focus is on the villain, it’s to show that he is irredeemably cruel, and a master manipulator with those closest to him suffering the most. If the focus is on the hero, he is usually approachably attractive, stern and focused when it comes to work yet soft centred,...

While there’s an air of inevitability surrounding the rebooting of Daredevil and his subsequent introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are still a huge number of question marks hovering over future of the Man Without Fear. Not only have there been conflicting reports about whether the character’s latest reinvention will be a feature-length adaptation or a resurrection of the canceled Netflix series, but the identity of the man under the costume has also been subjected to plenty of debate.
One story that gained a lot of traction online was the theory that Charlie Cox would return as Matt Murdock to act as Peter Parker’s lawyer in Spider-Man 3, and while that would be a solid way to keep some continuity and draft the actor into the McU, it’s unclear if that’s still the plan. That being said, we know that Cox is definitely under...

It seems like aeons ago that we were excitedly making our way through Daredevil season 3 on Netflix. The third block of episodes had taken a while to hit the streaming service, but had received both strong reviews and approval from fans, some of whom hadn’t been too enamoured with season 2. Netflix’s flagship Marvel show certainly didn’t seem to be going anywhere fast …until it was abruptly canceled in November, 2018, amongst all the other Marvel series the platform had been shovelling money into.
Daredevil star Charlie Cox was just as surprised as the rest of us when the show was nixed, as he’d been preparing to start work on season 4 oblivious to the machinations taking place between Netflix, Marvel and Disney, who were about to launch their own streaming service, Disney+.

Spoilers to follow…
All of the Marvel/Netflix shows are only tangentially-related to the movies of the McU, but The Punisher is even more removed than most. For obvious reasons, it would take the viewer out of the story if we were reminded that aliens and gods and whatnot existed in the same world as a gritty, gun-toting vigilante. However, it is a Marvel product and so, The Punisher does feature a very sneaky easter egg that name-checks one of the Avengers.
In episode 6, “The Judas Goat,” Lewis Wilson (Daniel Webber) murders O’Connor – who lied about being a veteran – in a fit of rage. As he’s attacking the guy, we can briefly see a stack of old VHS tapes and DVDs atop O’Connor’s TV, and one of them is titled Black Widow.

The war is over! But who won? "Captain America: Civil War" finished main unit filming right around the same time as the "X-Men: Apocalypse" cast, which makes sense since both movies are coming out in May 2016. Check out some of the wrap photos below, including the captain himself, Chris Evans. But first -- let's hear from Jeremy Renner on which side Hawkeye will be on in the Iron Man vs. Captain America face-off.
Jeremy was at Wizard World Comic Con Chicago and may have been tricked into confirming he's Team Cap. An audience member asked how he felt about siding with the First Avenger. "I don't know; they wrote me in that side. It made sense to me." But then he joked, "Maybe I switched sides!" Not a huge shock, but it sounds like confirmation that Hawkeye is standing with Captain America. Are you ready for spoilers on the rest of the team breakdowns?...

Kellan Lutz has gone from playing a brawny bloodsucker in “Twilight” to torturing contestants on Fox’s new reality competition, “Bullseye.” But while he pulled off some impressive aerial stunts, the actor who played Emmett Cullen in the vampire trilogy revealed on Tuesday that he didn’t come away unscathed. “Check out what I did for my first #Bullseye stunt & Boom! Kellan Lutz is one amiable fellow. As one of eight children, he knows how to get along. Lutz is chatty and loves to play extreme sports, so hosting Fox’s Bullseye, beginning May 27, is a natural fit. Our look at underappreciated films of the 80s continues, as we head back to 1988...
Either in terms of ticket sales or critical acclaim, 1988 was dominated by the likes of Rain Man, Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Coming To America. It was the year Bruce Willis made the jump from TV to action star with Die Hard, and became a star in the process.
It was the year Leslie Nielsen made his own jump from the small to silver screen with Police Squad spin-off The Naked Gun, which sparked a hugely popular franchise of its own. Elsewhere, the eccentric Tim Burton scored one of the biggest hits of the year with Beetlejuice, the success of which would result in the birth of Batman a year later. Plenty of audiences have already seen Scarlett Johansson kick ass as Black Widow in The Avengers and Iron Man 2, and she'll have a key role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier next year. Now THR says she'll be getting into action with The Fifth Element and The Professional director Luc Besson for his latest action thriller Lucy. The actress is in final talks to lead the film about a woman who is forced to become a drug mule. But rather than just carrying the drug, it enters her system and turns her into a lethal vixen who can absorb knowledge with ease, move things with her mind and doesn't feel any pain at all. More below! Sounds like the perfect return to form for Besson who crafted some great action thrillers back in the 90s, but has stayed fairly low key behind the camera, mostly producing and writing over the last decade.

Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson may be getting top billing and plenty of attention for their performances in "Pain & Gain," but Anthony Mackie is as much an integral part of the film as his more well-known counterparts. Playing real-life criminal Adrian Doorbal for Michael Bay's latest trip into excess (based on the true-life tale of a Miami crime spree brought to life by a series of Miami New Times articles back in 1999), Mackie has once again added another strong supporting performance to his already impressive resume of work ("Million Dollar Baby," "We Are Marshall," "The Hurt Locker"). Mackie has a busy slate ahead of him, with Bill Condon's "The Fifth Estate" and the crime thriller "Runner, Runner" (which stars Ben Affleck, Justin Timberlake, and Gemma Arterton) on the way later this year, and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" due out in 2014. But it's "Pain & Gain" that...

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has confirmed that Disney-owned Marvel now has the "Daredevil" film rights back in their possession.
Fox previously produced one "Daredevil" movie in 2003 and was required to make another film before October 10, 2012 or risk seeing the rights to the character revert back to Marvel.
Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and illustrators Bill Everett and Jack Kirby, the character first appeared in "Daredevil" #1 (April 1964).

Luc Besson, the filmmaker behind La Femme Nikita, Leon: The Professional and The Fifth Element, has chosen Scarlett Johansson as his next muse in Lucy. Besson wrote the script and will direct the action thriller for Universal.
Lucy “centers on a woman forced to become a drug mule. But the drug instead goes into her system, transforming her into an ass-kicking machine. She can absorb knowledge instantaneously, is able to move objects with her mind and can’t feel pain and other discomforts.”
Clearly, Scarlett wasn’t happy being a superhero without powers as Black Widow.

Scarlett Johansson is currently in talks to hang up her Black Widow tight black leather outfit when she finishes shooting “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” in order to play a drug mule in French action director Luc Besson’s new movie, “Lucy”. But wait! It’s not a straight drug mule role. In fact, Johansson will play the titular Lucy, a woman who is “forced to become a drug mule. But the drug instead goes into her system, transforming her into an ass-kicking machine. She can absorb knowledge instantaneously, is able to move objects with her mind and can’t feel pain and other discomforts.” Yes, you read that correctly. The drug she’s supposed to be carrying goes into her system and apparently turns her into The Black Widow crossed with Tetsuo from “Akira” crossed with Chuck from, well, “Chuck”. It seems that Captain America will be the only one getting any assistance whatsoever from the other members of “The Avengers” when his sequel lands next year in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”. We’ve already seen pics of the Black Widow and Shield on the film’s set. So what’s the deal with the other Avengers not lending fellow Avengers Thor in “Thor: The Dark World” (due out later this year) and Iron Man in “Iron Man 3″ (opening this May 3rd) a helping hand in their solo movies? Apparently Shield doesn’t even show up in “Iron Man 3′s” global terrorism plotline, which you’d think they would, being Shield and all, right? Marvel chief Kevin Feige has an explanation for that. Talking to I09 at the Hollywood premiere of “Iron Man 3″ (where a lot of stories you’re reading this morning about the Marvel U.

As great as it was to see heroes like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye team up in Joss Whedon's The Avengers, we can rightly expect that the movie's 2015 sequel will play around with the lineup a bit. Not only does Marvel have Guardians of the Galaxy coming out next summer, which will likely tie into Avengers 2 somehow, it's already been confirmed that the studio is planning Ant-Man and Doctor Strange movies as part of their Phase Three plans, meaning that those characters could possibly show up in the next Avengers film as well. But while nothing is certain, last night the writer/director actually dropped a big hint about two new characters that could show up. Disney and Marvel held the premiere of Iron Man 3 in Los Angeles last night, and while covering the red carpet Yahoo! had the chance to speak with...

The second phase of Marvel's movie plan is really interesting because they kind of have to avoid calling their Avengers teammates for help. Tony Stark couldn't call for their help in Iron Man 3, and Thor isn't able to ask for their help either in Thor: The Dark World. Marvel president Kevin Feige explains why in a recent interview with io9. When asked about these individual heroes not being able to ask for the help of the Avengers this is what he said,
That’s a new issue, right? That’s a new problem of Phase II, and the way we treat it in this movie and a lot of the movies is not dissimilar to how they treat it in the comics. Which is to say they’re either busy somewhere else — we know Thor is on another planet. But also, having the events happen very quickly in a...

I think we already know that all three characters will be showing up in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”. Heck, we even already know that Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow will figure pretty prominently into the sequel, given the film’s Russian-themed storyline (ala the Winter Soldier). Even so, it’s always nice to have proof, so here they are: Scarlett Johansson’s The Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury, and Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill all on the set of Anthony and Joe Russo’s currently in-production “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”. Nothing spoilery at all, for you spoiler-phobes out there, so feel free to take a gander, take a ganderers. The sequel finds the good Captain (Chris Evans) struggling to “embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.

What was long suspected was revealed to be true yesterday: Daredevil's film rights belong with Marvel again. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed it after months of fans assuming that was the case; the rights were said to have reverted back to Marvel after Fox failed to get a "Daredevil" reboot up and running before the expiration date. Not that Fox didn't try, with pitches by both David Slade and Joe Carnahan amounting to nothing.
The first "Daredevil" film is not remembered fondly, which is a shame considering how important the character is to Marvel Comics. His comic series, which has been running since the character's debut in 1964, contains more seminal runs than most others. Frank Miller did two highly influential runs on the book (the latter with art by the legendary David Mazzucchelli), followed by Ann Nocenti and John Romita Jr.'s lengthy run. Kevin Smith...
