A major ensemble casting update has dropped (via the Cineuropa folks) for Emmanuel Mouret‘s next directing gig. His brochette includes Camille Cottin, Sara Forestier, India Hair, Damien Bonnard, Grégoire Ludig and Vincent Macaigne – Une honnête femme (translates into “An Honest Woman”) deals with matters of the heart. Filming begins this week in Lyon and Moby Dick Films’ Frédéric Niedermayer is producing with the filmmaker once again.
Written by Emmanuel Mouret and Carmen Leroi, the story sees Joan, who’s no longer in love, leave her partner Victor who’s the father of her daughter. Joan is convinced her decision is morally justified, but it comes back to bite her when Victor subsequently disappears, leaving her overwhelmed with guilt.…...

General Hospital fans aren’t sure what’s going on with Sam, but they do know she’s not being entirely honest. She’s got a lot going on, and that’s something we all must consider important. She’s got issues with her mother and her father, her health, and there is a man who has the same face her husband once had but is also claiming he is the man she married while the man she’s currently married to is not her actual husband. So she might just have a reason or two to feel a little out of sorts these days. But that’s

I did hear the other day that I shouldn’t trust what actors say, as they’re professional liars.
Absolutely. Some of the most devious people – what was it? Devious and dangerous people on the planet – absolutely. Spoken by Dame Julie Walters.
I’m curious how the experience differed for you from the last Paddington...
It was different in so far as, the family’s story is separate to Paddington’s really, and I thought that was interesting, and I wasn’t sure how it would fit together. And so in...

[Editor’s note: Light spoilers for the premiere episode of “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World” follow.]
The new shows that make up the bulk of the fall broadcast TV season fall into pretty obvious categories: military drama (“The Brave”), medical drama (“The Good Doctor”), family comedy/annual expansion of the Chuck Lorre empire (“Young Sheldon”).
And then there’s “Kevin (Probably) Saves the World,” the ABC drama airing Tuesday nights, which doesn’t fit neatly into any box in particular. The official synopsis, per ABC:
Kevin Finn (Jason Ritter) is not a good person. He’s not terrible, but he’s selfish, and clueless, and values material wealth and status over all else. And he’s beginning to realize that those things aren’t making him happy – in fact, he’s fairly miserable. Just when things seem to be at their worst, he finds himself tasked with an unbelievable mission… saving the world…

One of the first (and best) jokes in “American Vandal” is a name on a screen: In the opening credits of the series’ show-within-a-show, one of the listed executive producers is “Mr. Baxter.” As a true crime docuseries satire, made through the eyes of a high school student, tiny comic touches like that are merely part of the comprehensive commitment to the bit that makes this series nearly too good to be true. “American Vandal” is that purest form of faithful recreation; a meticulously scripted tribute to true crime pop culture powerhouses. As a result, it’s a series worthy of becoming a phenomenon on its own merits.
For “American Vandal” and its fictional documentarian Peter Maldonado (Tyler Alvarez), the crime in question isn’t a brutal killing, but an unavoidable act of public vandalism. On one day in March, an Oceanside, CA high school descends on the faculty parking...

There were dining at a restaurant named The Quiet Woman, but Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd were anything but on Monday’s Real Housewives of Orange County.
The two rivals got into a heated argument at the end of the episode, exchanging insults — and in Beador’s case, throwing plates — as fellow Orange County Housewives Tamra Judge, Lydia McLaughlin and Peggy Sulahian looked on in horror.
“F— you,” Beador, 53, screamed at Dodd at the height of their battle — then giving her the middle finger. “Read between these lines you f—— bitch. Get out of my table.”

Andrew Dominik has created a gorgeous, immersive, and emotional experience in “One More Time With Feeling.” Sprung from the grief of Nick Cave, it is black-and-white, 3D, and a music documentary like no other.
I screened it in the basement of the Australian filmmaker’s Lauren Canyon home, then spoke with Dominik on iPhone video as he smoked an American Spirit on his patio, then inside on iPhone audio over a bowl of spaghetti bolognese. The film will premiere at the Venice International Film Festival.
Dominik first met his fellow countryman because they both once dated the same woman, who is the mother of Dominik’s child. Cave would call her on the phone and the two men would chat; they got along. “Nick Cave was like Jesus in Melbourne where I’m from,” said Dominik. “He’s a person people had a wide array of feelings about. There’s a thin line between love and hate, and you can expect Eddie Cahill to dance it with Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter) in ABC’s Conviction pilot. The CSI: NYer has been cast as the project’s male lead, our sister site Deadline reports.

He names Atwell’s Hayes head of the unit… and we’re sure that has nothing to do with the fact that they’ve got history,...

Highly respected producer worked on Joanna Hogg’s Archipelago and Sally El Hosaini’s My Brother the Devil.
British producer Gayle Griffiths has died following a battle with cancer. She was 49.
Griffiths, who died on Friday (Oct 23) in London, was perhaps best known for producing Joanna Hogg films Archipelago (2010) and Exhibition (2013), which both starred Tom Hiddleston, as well as urban drama My Brother The Devil (2012).
Sally El Hosani, director of My Brother The Devil, wrote on Facebook: “I can honestly say that the film wouldn’t have been what it was without her input and wisdom. Big Brother can't get enough of former housemates this series, and this week the Hotel Bb shopping task will see a whole host of special guests popping in for a (probably not so luxury) stay. And the first person to check in was Big Brother 8's Charley Uchea, which we'll get to see on tonight's highlights.
She checked out again today after one night so we got her on the phone to find out what the experience was like - from flirting with Marc, to who should be evicted, to why there are condoms lying about all over the house...
Hi Charley! What was it like going back in the house? Was it a bit strange?
"It was definitely strange but other than that it was brilliant, to be honest. I had a wicked time."
Do you wish you'd stayed a bit longer?

Big Brother chucked four housemates out last night, and one of the ones to go was Harriet Jackson. The "caff" worker - who was replaced by new housemate Harry Amelia - got on the phone this morning to talk about her shock exit, the newbies, and why we didn't get to see her fun side...
How are you feeling?
"A bit weird. Oh God, I'm a bit nervous still. But to be honest, I'm glad to be out now. To know who's gone in the house, I don't think I'd like them at all. I watched their VTs and they just made complete helmets of themselves."
You were quite emotional last night about leaving – why?
"They were real friends, real motherf**king friends!"
You didn't get any nominations so are you annoyed about how that worked?
"Proper annoyed. I can see why I'm out, because it was four out of six.

Life dating a celebrity isn't always easy. Susan Sarandon's former flame, Jonathan Bricklin, gets candid in the current issue of Closer Weekly about dating the Oscar-winning actress and why the two called it quits after six years together. The 37-year-old writer and the 68-year-old "Thelma & Louise" star shared a 31 year age difference. Jonathan was frequently referred to as the star's "toy-boy" and reveals that "living in her shadow" was often difficult. "I was going to all these Lifetime Achievement Awards ceremonies for her, and it was like, 'When is my life going to start?'" Before the two split, Jonathan, signed on to participate in AOL's new reality series "Connected." The show chronicles...

Vancouver, BC. It's time to bring out the big guns. Last month, I was on a "Supernatural" 200th episode red carpet in Vancouver. So far this week, I've posted the majority of the interviews. First I posted my red carpet Q&As with series creator Eric Kripke, plus long-time Ep Robert Singer and slight-less-tenured Ep Adam Glass. Then I posted my Q&As with supporting favorites Misha Collins, Felicia Day, Mark Sheppard and Genevieve Padalecki. But now, with Tuesday (November 11) night's 200th episode just hours away, it's time to post my interviews with Sam & Dean Winchester themselves. Because of all of their photo responsibilities and their various commitments at the party, I got Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki at the very end of the red carpet time and Jared in particular was only able to spare a couple minutes. But they're still fun, if brief, interviews. They're also the only...

Captain America: The Winter Soldier brought the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the genre of poltical thriller. And it did it with such skill and aplomb that even an Honest Trailer couldn't tear it apart. (We've since discovered that was by design.) For all the greatness that was jam-packed into the Captain America sequel, there was some flubs in its making. And Marvel's cool enough to share the silliness with this newly unveiled blooper reel. Chris Evan is a total pro, who has had some lows and highs with Captain America. Among the lows is a faulty shield that does not live up to its vibranium standard when it comes to breaking down doors. Cobie Smulders has some struggles with headgear. Grace of Monaco, the Nicole Kidman-starring biopic, has opened in Cannes today to dismaying reviews. But how does it fare alongside five other recent film festival flops?
Peter Bradshaw's one-star review of Grace of Monaco
From Parker Posey's panto baddie to the drunken nostril-fixated camerawork, Grace of Monaco is shaping up to go down as one of the worst films to ever play at the Cannes film festival.
But hold your horses. The grand stinker is a staple of the festival, and there's little the crowds like to do more than boo their way through the end credits of a much-anticipated movie, whether it deserves it or not.
Honest is set in 1968, and All Saints play three working-class East End girls, statuesque exquisites who have evidently had miraculous access to 21st-century diet, grooming, maquillage and gym regimen. Adorably feisty at all times, they do robberies - dressed as men!

By Sean O’Connell Hollywoodnews.com: Day One of the Toronto International Film Festival is almost in the books. Three movies down, one more to go. (And that one has Kristen Stewart in it … do you think it will draw a crowd?) The festival officially “opens” Thursday evening with a screening of Rian Johnson’s “Looper” (which we reviewed earlier today). But here are some snapshot reactions to the rest of the films I’ve managed to see so far. “Amour” The Who’s lyrics resonate deeply following a screening of Michael Haneke’s “Amour” – I hope I die before I get old. Perhaps, then, I’ll be spared the grief and heartache associated with dying – feelings and experiences that are personified with gut-wrenching precision by Haneke’s two spectacular actors, Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva, in the powerful “Amour.” She plays Anne, a doting Parisian wife and former piano...

If you’ve already overdosed on bittersweet tears from Stacy Francis and Dexter Haygood, then please be advised that tuning in to Tuesday night’s live-performance episode of The X Factor — at the end of which five of the Top 17 will be unceremoniously sent to the guillotine — may be detrimental to your health. On the other hand, if you’re like Destiny’s Child and think you’re ready for this jelly (I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly), then please consider this live blog post as your pithy, mildly inebriated viewing companion.

For a long time, Sam Cooke was a brilliant businessman and a beautiful voice. He recorded numerous top ten songs, started his own record label and was fast on his way to becoming a reasonably important cultural icon. Then he heard Bob Dylan.s .Blowin. In The Wind. and suddenly all of his success wasn.t enough. He couldn.t remain quiet about the trumped up arrests and the stifling inequality. If Bob Dylan could comment on the Civil Rights Struggle, so could he. The result was one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever recorded. Honest and haunting, .A Change Is Gonna Come. was voted as the twelfth greatest song of all-time by Rolling Stone, and it ultimately became the piece of music we most closely relate to the fight against inequality. Unfortunately, Cooke didn.t live to see it released. He was robbed of both his clothing...

Bob seems to have some trouble getting off the ground, as the restaurant is celebrating its Re-Re-Re-Re Grand Opening.
In the first episode it’s Labor Day weekend, one of the busiest times of the year, and Bob gives a pep talk to his family staff. Wife Linda is the ardent supporter, although she suspects Bob doesn’t pay enough attention to their marriage.

Often disguised as somewhere else, Toronto has been a popular filming location for years, as Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World points out. Here’s Jeff’s tribute to the geekiest location in cinema...
"They film movies in Toronto?" one character says, rather incredulously, in the recent Edgar Wright extravaganza, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. They certainly do.
Toronto is the cinematic equivalent of Cinderella: although it hosts one of the world's biggest film festivals and is often seen in movies and TV, it's usually dolled up to look like some other North American metropolis, say New York or Chicago, a fact the recent Scott Pilgrim makes sure to satirise.
The city's most iconic piece of architecture, the Cn Tower (formerly the world's tallest freestanding structure) is often hidden away, lest cinemagoers ever identify the city's skyline by its giant phallus.
Toronto so often represents other cities, or any city, that...

The White Ribbon (Sony) On the eve of Ww I, a small village in Germany is struck by a series of tragic, seemingly unconnected events until the townspeople, and the audience, start to connect the dots. Shot in stark, beautiful black & white, director Michael Haneke has fashioned a haunting metaphorical drama that is as coldly chilling as anything made by Ingmar Bergman, and darkly unsettling as anything from the canon of David Lynch. A rich, tough, brilliant cinematic experience you’re not likely to forget. Also available on Blu-ray disc. Bd bonuses: Interviews with cast and crew; featurettes. Widescreen Dolby and DTS 5.1 surround.

There are a handful of conspiracy theorists out there who are asking why the recap clip of Crystal Bowersox didn't show her blubbering at the end.

The good news about Twilight is that it’s only 23 days until it’s released which then means we won’t need to post anything about New Moon. The bad news however is that there are a whole two more films after this one!! I’m just joking! I love Twilight!! Honest!
Here’s a couple of new posters released by Summit Entertainment. I’ve also found an image of the Cullen family which I thought you Twilight fans out there might like!
Twilight New Moon stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Rachelle Lefevre, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Michael Sheen, Dakota Fanning, is directed by Chris Weitz and is released 20th November.

Entertainment Tonight have posted a new clip from Twilight: New Moon which was shown to the audience at the Scream Awards the other day.
The footage has made it’s way to YouTube and I’ve embedded it below. The scene shows Kristen Stewart confronting The Wolf Pack before slapping one of them in the face. Said ‘wolf’ gets a little angry and goes Incredible Hulk on her arse before Taylor Lautner comes to her rescue. I’m excited already! Honest!!

Maybe Baby (2000) director Ben Elton is blaming the British press for turning David A. Stewart's movie Honest (2000) into a flop in their home country. The crime flick, directed by the Eurythmics star was withdrawn from most UK cinemas last week after performing badly at the box office. And fellow first-time director Elton, whose own movie Maybe Baby (2000) opened on Friday, thinks it's because the British press always attack anything or anyone who is successful. He fumes, "I don't think the British audience got a chance to see it before it got taken to pieces. There is a British disease, people say, 'Oh there's a news story - let's slag that.' Someone works for two years and then gets the p**s taken out of them... I was talking to Dave Stewart about this and they've had a tremendous hit in France, they've had nice notices from the American press."...

DAVID A. STEWART owes his directing career to a gold bracelet he found in the street - because he pawned it and bought a video camera with the money. The EURYTHMICS star was on tour in Australia when he noticed the chunky gold piece of jewellery which was to change his life on the pavement. And his debut movie Honest (2000), out in Britain this week, would never have been made without the find. He says, "I was walking along with my headphones on. I was totally jet-lagged as I had just arrived from England with Annie Lennox - although this all happened before the Eurythmics were formed... I stood on something and I looked and it was a gold chunky bracelet. I looked around and there was no-one on the street so I picked it up and was walking up the road looking at it and I saw a pawn shop. I walked out of that shop with an 8mm camera with a film in it and I still have the film which I took walking up the road from that shop. After that we travelled to lots of countries and I never stopped filming things - that's when I discovered movie making."...

DAVID A. STEWART's debut movie Honest (2000) hasn't even opened, but the EURYTHMICS star is already working on his next one - about an Indian assassin. The musician-turned-director has drafted an initial storyline for the film, called JUGGERNAUGHT, and will start the serious business of writing and casting after he's taken just one month's holiday. Stewart reveals, "I'm going to spend the whole of August doing nothing in Jamaica, except playing some blues guitar with a few glasses of red wine, then I'll be back in London working on my next film." He continues, "It's called Juggernaught which in Indian means an unstoppable force. It's about a hitman who goes to India." And Stewart says, unlike Honest (2000) which stars three of the band members from ALL SAINTS, he'll be using unknown actors, "I'm not bothered about working with famous people like the All Saints again - you've got to remember that they came to me. I was interviewing lots of actresses. 99 per-cent of the cast will be Indian anyway."...
