In a pictoral montage early on, where Cody is explaining the history of surfing and surf culture, one of the pictures featured is the 18th-century Japanese woodblock printer Katsushika Hokusai's "Great Wave off Kanagawa" reworked so a penguin is seen surfing off the wave's lip.

Errores:

Continuidad: After the argument with Big Z, Cody rips his big Z necklace off and during his walk to the line up its clearly seen that he's no longer wearing it, However in the long shot of the line up, you can see that Cody has the necklace on..and then in the following closeup its gone again.

What a nice surprise.

I went in not expecting much. My husband just wanted to catch a movie, and we usually limit our movie outings to good, clean family fun.

Well, Surf's Up turned out to be quite a pleasant little diversion. No, we weren't rolling in our seats with laughter, but we left the theater happy that we had given the movie a chance.

I was never bored. I loved the look of the animation. The characters were quite enjoyable. As I said in my title, the movie was just a nice surprise.

Give it a chance. You too might just walk out the theater glad that you had gone.
