Maybe Baby (#7.11)

Warning: Spoilers
Waiting for the test results Dan and Roseanne fight a lot. He thinks she should get an abortion if the baby is sick. She thinks she should make her own decision and it is none of Dan's business. DJ wants to know what is going on and she tells him. Turns out the baby is OK, but Dan is mad because she told DJ even though they decided not to tell the kids.

I am glad this story is over. The show did a good job with dealing with serious subject and still make it fun. This story is depressing. I feel bad for Dan. He should be involved in the decision as pregnancy is much shorter than the whole life he also will have to deal with the kid. When it comes to DJ though it wasn't Roseanne's fault, in that situation telling him was the correct thing. I actually liked DJ in this episode, usually it doesn't happen, but he was a really nice kid.

Poor Dan

Women, include your men in these decisions. Roseanne was out of line here.

Just NOT a topic that should have been addressed like this, there is NOTHING funny about it!

Warning: Spoilers
I love the way Roseanne can generally deal with difficult topics with heart, sensitivity, and at least a dash of humor, but this whole storyline was just depressing and annoying. Speaking as a woman, I hate women who are in a committed relationship with a man yet still insist that the man has NO say in what happens with the couple's baby. I'm not saying whether Roseanne or Dan was right, but as a couple, it should have been something they discussed together. Roseanne's treatment of Dan in this storyline is just far too off-putting and there is absolutely no way to address this type of situation with any level of humor that wouldn't just come off as callous and sick. They should have just steered clear of this topic as it doesn't work well in this kind of sitcom format.

It Takes TWO

Just finished this episode and wow. Roseanne was so out of line and absolutely disrespectful.

Sure, the baby is developing and growing inside the woman's body, but she did not create this new human all by herself.

Especially in a scenario such as this one, Dan has every right to be a part of the decision making. PERIOD. They are husband and wife, like come on!

Abortion is a very heated topic and, in my opinion, this was inappropriate for a sitcom. Roseanne's attitude about Dan's feelings (Oh my gosh, a man actually cares? Duh!) was so gross.

I sincerely hope every single person who played a part in this episode is absolutely ashamed. Men have a voice, too. Especially one the woman is in a relationship with. ESPECIALLY ONE A WOMAN IS MARRIED TO!!!
