Such a waste of acting talent in this Lifetime movie,,,,, and I wish we hadn't bothered watching it! Bad script and so many plot holes!

Awful movie - skip it!

Horrible ending

This wasn't too bad for a Lifetime movie until around the last half hour. Then, it just became totally stupid. You're watching it while thinking "what???" And, then it's over without answering all these questions. Very disappointing.
Typical Lifetime Fomula

Here we have the same old formulaic, generic Lifetime movie. We have the usual obsessed or crazy bad guy or girl. Then we have the usual tactic where one person suspects the bad person is bad, but their friend/spouse/boy or girlfriend doesn't. Of course, there is always a friend or relative close to the main character, too. When that person finds out something about the bad person, they don't or can't tell the main character right away (it's amazing how often people don't have their cell phones with them, or ignore calls, at critical moments in these movies). Nope, that would be too easy. Instead, they have to wait long enough for the bad person to kill or injure them before they can warn anyone about what they found out.
Then we have the too quick, unsatisfying ending after the last commercial, featuring a - Girl Fight!
Plot holes? People acting illogically? Unresolved plot points where we just cut to a happy ending? Of course.
The writers of these movies obviously have a short list of character types and plot formulas to follow. But I guess it works, or people (including me!) wouldn't keep watching these oh-so-similar movies that have slight variations on the same themes.
In this case, the writers didn't even bother with any variations or attempts at originality. Just straight formula. So, if you like these kinds of movies, this is...another one.

I loved it

I loved this movie because it was so awful that my own laughter kept me company.
Wow where to start? A couple of terrible actors with no chemistry AT ALL. I mean, I could visualise how it all came together, they e-mailed the script to them, they read it, then met the same day they were filming, wrapped the whole movie in half a day and left home. I bet they don't even know their real names.
The newscaster!!! What on earth?? Who was that? Doesn't matter, I bet I won't see him in any other movie...
The whole acting was beyond awful! The plot, the lines, everything was nonsense and terrible.
The girl was really good though and I don't mind the one star rating (because minus 10 would be ideal) because of her, she was the only star the movie deserves.
But overall I'd say watch it, it's a total waste of time and sometimes wasting time is nice. Plus you'll laugh, I know I did.

This movie literally made me so mad , they made the main character so stupid. there were so many opportunities where she should have done things so different, i understand that it's a movie and they want to make it suspenseful but it's not even suspenseful it's aggravating. awful story line, don't recommend watching unless you wanna know what to do different if you're ever suspicious of someone and people, especially women should always trust their gut instinct or go to help about it.
Not worth a star

One of the better Lifetime movies out there

I was surprised by the negative reviews here. I watched this with someone who hates Lifetime movies, and they actually enjoyed this one. The premise is interesting and different from the typical Lifetime formula (where one bad guy repeatedly does bad stuff until they're caught). In this one, a young woman suspects that her new friend is a kidnapper, and has to struggle while the kidnapper turns everybody against her. Even though the ending is predictable, there are some moments that I didn't see coming. It's ultimately an enjoyable movie to pass the time and it does have some exciting bits.
Lifetime No

I usually can watch a dramatic lifetime story but this was horrible. The main character lacked common sense and she made horrible decisions. She literally called the police for everything else but to report the little girl stolen. Just stupid, I can't.
I think it was a great movie!

I read the negative reviews and one Vin particular had caught my eye. They were saying the ending was incomplete because "Why didn't they return Mallie to her original parents?"... I'm gonna assume this person didn't pay attention to the WHOLE movie when they said Emily's parents died in a car accident and had no survived family members (or something to that extent). I do, however, agree that there were times the characters made dumb decisions or times things didn't make sense. For example: why wouldn't Jenn or Emma try to hear Karina's side or at least apologize after Lena was arrested? It was a lot better than the cheerleader movies that were on the night before.
HORRIBLE MOVIE

The scene where she calls endless amounts of hotels and motels to finally discover the whereabouts of the woman and little girl only to let them get away when she sees them leave the hotel room...she literally watches them drive away instead of getting in her car and following them. She goes into the room they just left and sits on the hotel bed and calls someone with the gist, "I don't know what to do now". Earlier, she even tries to call out the little girl's name, when she walks out of the motel room, so how is it that she's willing to blow her cover by actually speaking and trying to call out to the little girl but she's not willing to get in her car, that she drove there with and follow them? Overall, the acting is shoddy and the storyline is just pretty much horrible.
The premise wasn't bad

But the execution left a lot to be desired. I just cannot abide idiotic characters. Sometimes Lifetime has movies that hit all the right notes like Dying to Be You. Then they have movies like this one where you have to accept illogical actions in order for the plot to "work." I don't want to rehash the plot because this comes on often enough that you can catch it, but Karina was not a smart protag and made some truly terrible decisions. Nothing she did seemed like the natural reaction to the events happening around her. She's the protag sure, but I ultimately just wanted the little girl to be rescued even if not by her and her husband.
Lena was a decent villain and she played the creepy and evasive role pretty well. I have been a fan of Bree W since OLTL (she's one of the rare recasts that worked) and this movie and Killer in My Home have been so disappointing.

Ok, so the acting is pretty good, especially for this genre. With the notable exception of the "newscaster" character. Yikes. But the WRITING, my gosh - the writing is just horrible! The dialog is stilted and ridiculous. Probably the most laughable part is the main character's boutique name: Juvenile Shop. Seriously!
Where do I even begin?

I'm not sure if my favorite scene was the cleaning spray to the face or the moment the main character and her pathetic husband KIDNAPPED the little girl with absolutely no plan.
The story started off with so much potential for a great movie but then it seems that a 5 year old got ahold of the script and finished the story. Actually a 3 year old.
The main character Karina was so irrational in her thinking and judgement, I don't think Emily would be safe with her either.
Examples: Not calling the police on a kidnapper. Not telling the police you saw a man run out of the house bleeding. Going alone in the park to meet a man who tried to kidnap Emily. Breaking into houses, kidnapping a child. Leaving the child with your husband who is dumb enough to be involved in the nonsense, while you go on a dangerous quest for more evidence that you don't plan to do anything with.
The only thing she was scared off was the police, which of course she had to call at the end anyway. There is an anonymous tip line for kidnapping crimes so there was no reason she couldn't have gotten the evidence to the police and saved everyone about an hour of foolishness.
Very frustrating and silly storyline. It didn't get better, only worse. Should've been a comedy. When the cleaning spray caused the killer to run out of the store, that was when I knew the 3 year old finished the script.

There's not a piece of dialogue that isn't exposition or terribly acted. The whole film is just utterly ridiculous from start to finish. The lead opens a children's clothes shop called "juvenile shop". That should tell you the amount of creativity that went into this. Whilst not birdemic bad it's not too far away. The writing is really quite breathtakingly bad, I mean who doesn't invite two virtual strangers to a childs assembly and quite inexplicably gets one to lead the proceedings! Every protagonist is overwhelmingly stupid, the kidnapper who refuses to leave the state or change the childs appearance in any way, even when making a flee for it towards the end, presumably to disappear again, she stillrefuses to leave the state! The lead who refuses to go to the police because they won't believe her but yet rings various hotels and the dmv/insurance companies to gather information whilst impersonating people. How about you use those skills to ring the police and make an anonymous report? Just so so bad.

First time watching a lifetime movie.

This was my first time watching a lifetime movie. I didn't like it at all. The characters were very annoying because it's the same drowned out formula that so many other terrible movies have used. It's not worth watching.
