The pair will co-star in a new Netflix series titled The Four Seasons, which Tina is also co-creating alongside Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield.

After directing three “Night at the Museum” movies, Shawn Levy didn’t want to be confined to directing family comedies for the rest of his career. If you’re doing something successfully, he told IndieWire, it’s easy to be “pigeonholed” by Hollywood into that one thing.
But he’s been far from limited under the banner of his own production company, 21 Laps. Levy and his company have been prolific hit-makers since it launched in 2006, and he has produced and directed everything from indie darlings (“The Spectacular Now”), ambitious Best Picture nominees (“Arrival”), studio blockbuster satires (“Free Guy“), prestige limited series (“All the Light We Cannot See”), Stephen King horror movies (“The Boogeyman”), and the biggest Netflix show ever (“Stranger Things”), all of which depart from the family-friendly event movies on which he cut his teeth.
“You need to refuse to be limited by everyone else’s assumptions,” Levy told IndieWire during a recent interview.

The Toronto International Film Festival will honor one of Canada’s own, Montreal native Shawn Levy, with the inaugural Norman Jewison Award, also named after another Canadian great filmmaker.
The Norman Jewison Career Achievement Award is presented by The Budman Family, and recognizes Canadians in the film industry who have made a global impact with their careers. The awards presentation will take place at the TIFF Tribute Awards gala fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
Levy originally set about pursuing a career in acting, attending Yale University. He turned to directing and received an Mfa from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 1994. One of Levy’s first acting gigs was the low-budget horror 1987 movie, Zombie Nightmare, which got poked at on an episode of Comedy Central’s Mystery Science Theater 3000. This article contains spoilers for "Yellowjackets" season 2.
While the promise of mysteries, criminal activity, cannibalism, and a story of survival may have gotten most "Yellowjackets" viewers in the door, it has been the complex, fascinating characters that keep folks coming back each week. The major characters of Shauna, Taissa, Natalie, Misty, Lottie, and Van have given us two different timelines to become our beloved favorites, but there are plenty of supporting characters that audiences can't get enough of, and I'm not just talking about their teammates in the cabin.
It's sincerely impressive that "Yellowjackets," a show that prioritizes the stories of women above all else, managed to make a legion of fans (many of whom are queer) become obsessively protective of Shauna's himbo wifeguy Jeff (Warren Kole). And of course, who could forget the consistent comedic relief that comes from a character like Randy (Jeff Holman), the words of wisdom...

Hulu’s list of new releases for April 2023 don’t feature many blockbusters, but if we dig a little, I’m sure we can find some gems.
Perhaps the most promising items are on the TV side of things. Tiny Beautiful Things premieres on April 7 and stars Kathryn Hahn as “a floundering writer who becomes a revered advice columnist while her own life is falling apart.” That will be followed by comedy Am I Being Unreasonable? on April 11 and two documentaries: high school football story Algiers, America (April 19) and Tupac Shakur piece Dear Mama (April 22).
The best TV candidate this month, however, is probably Saint X on April 26. This series, told via multiple timelines, “explores and upends the girl-gone-missing genre as it explores how a young woman’s mysterious death during an idyllic Caribbean vacation creates a traumatic ripple effect that eventually pulls her surviving sister into a dangerous pursuit of the truth.

After beginning his career as a model, the Benin-born actor found his first taste of success in Hollywood by landing a major role in Steven Spielberg’s Oscar-nominated 1997 epic “Amistad”.
Despite his co-star Anthony Hopkins getting a nomination for Best Supporting Actor, Hounsou was left out of the running at the awards show.
“Yeah. Maybe I was early,” he said, looking back on that experience. “If my movies had come out today I definitely would have gotten an Oscar already.”
He would eventually find himself nominated for two Oscars, for Best Supporting Actor in 2002’s “In America”, and again...

Even if you’ve signed up for every streaming service out there, it can feel monumental when a title moves from one to another. In April, Netflix mainstay “New Girl” moves to Hulu; still streaming, but not where fans are used to finding it — like rearranging the furniture in your apartment and waking up surprised every day that the couch is over there now.
But what’s important is that “New Girl” lives on, now joining Hulu’s own TV and movie library and originals from Freeform, FX, National Geographic, and more. Later in the month, Leila Gerstein’s “Saint X” — based on the novel by Alexis Schaitkin — premieres with three episodes, recounting the story of a young girl found dead during a family vacation and the sister piecing it together years later. Alycia Debnam-Carey, Josh Bonzie, West Duchovny, Jayden Elijah, Bre Francis, Kenlee Anaya Townsend, Betsy Brandt, and Michael Park star.

Tina Fey is back to push her students in the upcoming “Mean Girls” movie musical.
The “Saturday Night Live” alum confirmed she is reprising the role of math teacher Ms. Norbury for the upcoming musical take on the beloved 2004 high school comedy. Tim Meadows is also back as Principal Duval.
“We couldn’t age out. Teachers work forever,” Fey said during “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” adding, “I want it to be like when Gilligan from ‘Gilligan’s Island’ would be at a trade show and you’d be like, ‘Oh, he looks so old in his little hat.’ That’s my goal.”
“Mean Girls” left off with Fey’s Ms. Norbury being cleared of “pusher” drug charges as written in the salacious Burn Book by Cady (Lindsay Lohan). It’s unclear whether the movie musical is a direct remake of the original film, with Norbury dealing with a similar predicament.

Date night takes a turn in TV Insider’s exclusive first look at the new extended trailer for True Lies, which premieres on CBS on March 1. In the new preview, which will debut during halftime of the Dolphins vs. Bills game on CBS, Harry (Steve Howey) and Helen (Ginger Gonzaga) are out to dinner. “You remember how we used to be?” she asks. Well, she might start questioning that, considering he’s about to reveal just how much more there is to who he is by fighting their way out of the restaurant. As any wife would ask, she wants to know where he learned to fight like that. “Please don’t be mad. I’m a spy,” he tells her. But things will change now that she knows the truth, and when she’s used for undercover work, she becomes privy to the fact that the agency buys all the clothes.

Sometimes being a mom means heading to a dinosaur park to make your son happy even though you're (very) pregnant. On Sunday, Chrissy Teigen shared photos of her family at Los Angeles's Dinosaurs in the Valley event on Instagram alongside a caption that makes it clear the only reason she left her house is that her 4-year-old, Miles, is a big fan of dinos.
The photos feature Miles and his big sister, Luna (6), taking a close look at a baby T. rex, Miles doing a bit of fossil digging, and Luna giving her little brother a piggyback ride. Teigen and husband John Legend got in on the action too. In one pic, Teigen gamely climbs inside a giant egg for a photo op with Luna, and in another, she and Legend look on as Miles seems to point at one of the exhibits.

Shawn Levy is a busy man. As a director, his credits stretch back to the 1990s and include everything from family friendly movies like "Big Fat Liar" and "Night at the Museum" to less family friendly movies like "This Is Where I Leave You" and, uh, that's pretty much it, actually. From "Real Steel" to "Date Night" and "The Adam Project," most of Levy's filmography is considered pretty safe, if not deeply snarky, viewing for the whole family. Well, for everyone 13 and up, at least. It's a lucrative cinematic window that statistically ticks the most boxes but it can also be incredibly limiting for certain stories ... and Levy knows this all too well.
While Levy has yet to direct anything near as hard R-rated as the first two "Deadpool" movies (even the R-rated "This Is Where I Leave You" is pretty tame compared to a Ryan Reynolds superhero franchise...
