Dynaman (1988– )

My only problem with this show is that we didn't get more of this.

I've only heard of this on and off at times until I found this show on YouTube and this app called Night Flight Plus. Night Flight was on the USA Channel's program block in the 1980s and I was surprised at what this program block had with the Night Fight Plus app.

This show can also come off as a bit of a precursor to Mighty Morphing Power Rangers and that show does a bit of a parody of this in Power Rangers Dino Thunder with the Japanese side of the show being dubbed. It's the episode in Power Rangers Dino Thunder called Lost and Found in Translation if that helps you. This series is also based on the super sentai show Kagaku Sentai Dynaman which translates to "Science Squad Dynaman" that came out in Japan in 1983.

This is about "5 good-looking Japanese friends from all walks of life, Wooshi their leader, is DynaRed. Huba, able to reach tall trees is, Dyna Black. Franky the human outboard motor is, Dyna Blue. Cowboy the show-thinking weapons expert is Dyna Yellow. And their main squeeze Slojin is Dyna Pink. Under the guidance of this man, Dr. Ho, who from his laboratory and daycare center keeps the world safe from the evil antics of Bernie Tanaka and Mel Fujitsu. At one time his partners but now his arch enemies, who can stop them, who can save the world, who that's who, the ultimate persuader in the battle against evil, these are the adventures of Dynaman." this pretty much sums up the show.

The first episode is the pilot which also explains the dialogue I quoted in the opening. Dr. Ho explains how his assistants after an accident, Bernie and Mel became evil and took Dr. Ho's gene-splitting machine, then all the Dynamen meet at Dr. Ho's daycare center that's probably his lab secretly underground, I like to think. Dr. Ho mentions that Bernie and Mel are going to make illegal music videos with the help of their friend Nigel, the reptiles that go "whee" and this crab monster called "Cy" is gathering orphans to be extras in the music video. The Dynamen save the orphans and go fight the reptiles and Cy but they all end up falling into the ocean then later get gadget watches and finally get their outfits and a giant ship called the Dynaship that also has these two other ships that come out of it and can become a giant robot. They then fight Nigel and the reptiles then during the battle DynaRed cuts off one of Nigel's tails after that they fight Cy and then he grows giant. The Dynamen then get into the DynaShip, send the DynaHead ship, the DynaBody ship, the DynaTank, and later become DynaRobo. While fighting Cy they use this hammer with a ball and chain attached to it, this Dyna boomerang, and do the finisher with the Dyna Sword.

The next episode is "Rhinoman" where Bernie finds out their basement is trashed at their hideout and then Mel blames the Dyna kids for it. Then Mel uses this gene-splitting machine to create the ultimate party crasher Rhinoman which is a rhino monster. After that, Dr. Ho explains how long the reptile people have been around underground since the dawn of man. Then the Dynaman fight the reptile people attacking the city in the Dynaship, then they land and fight Rhinoman and Nigel, who lose another tail. Then Nigel and Rhinoman escape after an earthquake or something like that. Then the Dynamen return to the daycare, make some inventions, and do some training. They later crash Bernie's birthday party in their costumes and fight the reptile people using their special weapons and tricks. Nigel then sends Rhinoman and the Dynamen to try to defeat him but he then grows giant. The Dynamen then form DynaRobo and while fighting him they form the DynaSword as the finisher.

Episode 3 is called "Day of the Dolphin: Flipper's Revenge" In it Bernie's niece Lucy and his boyfriend Flipper the Dolphin visit and he wants revenge after this guy, who also made him intelligent, Dr. Wiggly because Flipper was sent to the Vietnam War and forced to kill others. Then it goes to Franky and Slojin visiting an aquarium and Franky's Uncle Wiggly, then Flipper comes out of the water and kidnaps Dr. Wiggly while Franky and Slojin fight the lizards and there's even this scene where Franky fights right in the water. Franky and Slogin transform into Dynamen and then Lucy shows up to help Flipper while the rest of the Dynamen show up. Franky ends up falling into the ocean while Flipper and Lucy escape the fight, some of the Dynamen search the ocean in a boat and find where Dr. Wiggly is hidden. Flipper uses this mind control device that looks like a hair dryer on Dr. Wiggly and he tells the fish in the end to become psychedelic hippies.

Some of the Dynamen find where Dr. Wiggly was kidnapped and fight all the lizardmen there, then Flipper shows up and all the Dynamen show up. Franky wakes up in this dream-like place where this mermaid is waiting for him. She mentions how clean and pure the ocean was but now that the fish turned into psychedelic hippies and it's getting dirty now. She tells Franky to save the fish and stop Lucy and Flipper, he says he will and then wakes up on the shore. He then meets up with the rest of Dynaman on his weird surfboard thing and then they all end up fighting Flipper and use the finisher "Dyna Human Pinwheel". Then Flipper becomes a giant then DynaMan uses DynaRobo to defeat him with the DynaSword. Then they save Dr. Wiggley and Franky tries to listen to the ocean in this little shell while the rest of Dynaman throw him in the water as a joke.

The next episode is called Lizard of Oz where Bernie and Mel try to create lizard people extras in Dynatown for their movie that's a parody of "The Wizard of Oz" and make them with the gene splicer to make this bat monster they created called Mr. Fabulous. As Mr. Fabulous flies over Dynatown, he converts people into lizards he also suggests they go underground and tells them to reproduce to make more extras for the movie. The Dynamen end up fighting Mr. Fabulous and the Lizardmen and then Mr. Fabulous escapes for now. After that, the Dynamen find where Mr. Fabulous is hiding while he's being fueled up to convert more people for later. While fighting him the DynaRed sends in the DynaShip while he uses his fighter to take down Mr. Fabuolus to stop him from flying around. Then the Dynamen use the Dyna Human Pinwheel to finish him, and Mr. Fabulous becomes gigantic, making the Dynamen use DynaRobo to defeat him. Then the Dynamen create a cure along the way to save all the people from Dynatown from being lizards forever.

The next episode is called "The Seven Loves of Lucky Pierre" where Lucy gets this French frog monster, Lucky Pierre, to get all these women who are about to get married that made fun of Lucy to marry Lucky Pierre instead as a way to get back at them for calling her tail a muffin. Slojin sees Lucky Pierre trying to steal the last bride but she stops him and the rest of the Dynamen fight Lucky Pierre and his lizards. After he escapes the Dynamen use Slojin as a bride-to-be to catch Lucky Pierre, she's later sent to this hideout where all the brides are held captive. Then Slojin stops him just as he's about to marry all the other brides and fights the lizards as the brides all escape Lucky Pierre's hideout. Then the rest of the Dynamen help Slojin and then she transforms, after they all fight Lucky Pierre and the lizards they do the finisher Dyna Human Pinwheel. Lucky Pierre then becomes gigantic and the Dynamen send in the Dynaship and form Dynarobo, and then Lucky Pierre uses electricity from his tongue and some kind of hypnosis to stop the Dynamen for a bit. They all snap out of it and use this giant mirror to reflect Lucky Pierre's hypnosis, then the Dynamen use their finisher with the Dynasword. Then one of the brides gets married and Slojin wonders if she will ever get married one day soon and the episode ends.

The final episode is "Last Adventure of Spunky the Wonder Squid" where Huba tries to contact his relatives in outer space for his birthday. Then Mel and the other villains are keeping a watch on the spaceship and Mel is mad that he only got a squid monster on his birthday even though he looks more like an octopus than a squid. That's also "Spunky the Wonder Squid" and they plan to destroy Huba's gift of a Nuclear Power Plant from his uncle, Spunky then goes to the surface of a beach and then he touches a radio, and then gets electrical powers for some reason, he ends up flying to a power line tower to get more of a charge. Huba ends up getting a signal from outer space and finds his relatives in some flying saucer outside in broad daylight, Huba also wears this silver suit as well, which is the birthday suit they gave him. Huba and his friends try to talk to his relatives from outer space and Spunky sees them and tries to distract the Dynamen then he and Huba fight a bit and Spunky shocks Huba. Dynamen all then transform and fight the Lizards and then they all escape and later on destroy Huba's Nuclear Power Plant. The Dynamen come by and fight Spunky near a beach where the power plant was and then Huba fights Spunky one-on-one and then Huba's relatives come by and help him after they clean up the radiation from the Nuclear Power Plant. The Dynamen then use the finisher "Dyna Human Pinwheel to defeat Spunky and then he becomes gigantic then Dynamen sends in the Dynaship and it forms Dynarobo defeating Spunky. Huba misses his relatives and hopes to see them again next year though a year is about 50 years to them so he might be dead by then and it ends.

There's also this lost episode I found on youtube that's also kind of a documentary about something called DynaCon! And it just seems okay is all. You'll also hear a lot of 1980s rock that's licensed so I'm not sure if uploading it is a good idea, though I made a Spotify playlist that I might link on here at the end of the review. In the end, this show is awesome with all the action footage from the original show and the rock music makes things kind of cool as well, it also.

More Woke Activist Propaganda For Young Adults, Yay!

From what I've heard this Netflix movie is based on some young adult book and it seems there's a lot of those z-grade writers and the books all seem to have the same tropes at times as well as plot holes. Stuff like the blank slate main character, love triangles, fight the system because it's against you, don't get an adult involved in things, take matters into your own hands and end up potentially hospitalized, that some or most of the adults are dumb and don't listen to them, and that to go to the red flags in life message.

What just bothers me with these tropes isn't that they're repetitive but more the execution of them at times. Since they're targeted to people that are still developing themselves, trying to mature, both mentally and physically. It's just that when writing these you need to at least have the characters use critical thinking, as well as problems solving skills, and not just act out constantly all the time. I also wanted to give this a watch since Amy Poler is in this and helped make it but she's not in it very much, sadly.

This story is about this self-insert girl in this High School where this evil, white, racist, rich guy jock that's rewarded even though he's an okay football player. Then this black, bisexual, Latina, girl character that's a strong feminist being upset that the summer reading was about The Great Gatsby because it was about a rich white man writing about a rich white man who is upset they can't have a woman.

She talks about how we need to talk about literature from immigrants, single mothers, and other foreigners. Since their stories are more important than The Great Gatsby, sadly, all of it's mostly written in English, even though they're in American Literature. Then the male white football jock mentions and mansplains to her that The Great Gatsby is a classic and hopes for it to be read in school more. Though he doesn't explain why since the book was about how having all these parties and money doesn't make you happy and it will end up all "Crashing down" one day. When he's more upset that she's at the front desk of the class as a way to enforce that whole racism vibe.

After that, the black, Latina, feminist tries to get a drink and the white jock spits in it and gives it to her. She tells the office about what happens and that he's harassing her, it comes off as that whole "There's all this bad stuff going on and there's nothing you can do." When the principal talks with her, which always ends up just gaslighting these kids in the end. Making them think the only way to stop this stuff is to act out or cause violence since they weren't getting an answer from them, which is just cowardly, sad, and a way to indoctrinate the kids and use them as human shields in the end. Since she's the principal and can stop all of this in the end especially with the new kid in school.

Then the female self-insert character is angry about how the jock guy is doing all of this and after he texts every student a list about all the girls based on their looks and nothing else. Then the insert girl creates the fanzine or newsletter called Moxie to call for activism by drawing hearts and stars on their hands to show solidarity against the patriarchy. Though it comes off that if the list was about the guys on nothing but their looks instead of the girls it would be okay since it's only sexist if it happens to women. This is a bit sad and there's even this one South Park episode and clip that shows how at the end that was just a stupid list and I might link it at the end of this review. It ends up attracting all the token women that are "this or that" since one of the girls wins every soccer game even though the football jock who is okay wins the scholarship every year and there's also this Asian guy who ends up being a male feminist at the end of this movie since he's impressed with the self-insert, though I've heard male feminists can turn into creepers, in the end, is all.

Then there's this next crackdown of the patriarchy with the dress code women have since one of these girls that are wearing a tank top and has bigger boobs than the other girls. Ike Barinholtz is also in this scene and makes me wish for Mad TV to come back to entertain everyone and not be afraid to be edgy and have something solid in the end at times. The girl then mentions that the other girl near her is wearing the same thing enough though she doesn't have as big of boobs as her and it turns into some argument about how to control women as well as some girls having smartphones to record this sexism as well even if it isn't, probably. Then all the girls wear tank tops as an act of defiance to get back at the patriarchy, somehow?

After that, they get back at the okay white male jock for always getting this scholarship even though he's just okay in the end and the football team keeps losing. Even though the soccer players are really good but this movie makes it seem this movie makes it sound like no one cares about women's accomplishments because of them being girls but they aren't true at all. Then they protest so the amazing soccer girl gets the scholarship even though she's a junior and okay white jock is a senior and scholarships are given to seniors, but I guess that doesn't matter. Though okay white jock gets back at them by explaining at the school these girls are just using anonymous bullying and no one tolerates that, which comes off more intelligent in the end and works. When that happens it would seem it was going to be this thing with the girls where you can't always win every battle in the end.

Then the self insert mouths off and tears down her mom's boyfriend, something about America won't be gender-equal for 130 years, something Melinda Gates said that was later debunked. It just comes off mean since the self-insert is yelling at the guy who played Phil Coulson from Marvel's Avengers movie. That guy united the Avengers, was killed, and became an android, or a Life Model Decoy SHEILD uses as body doubles on and off. Though if you think that's bad wait until you read this Marvel event comic, Heroes Reborn (2021), which destroys him probably because the writers in marvel comics now don't like or hate straight white men.

Then at the end, some girl at the end says that the okay white jock raped her though she probably lied about that since when that college girl from Duke lied about being gang-raped by the la cross the team in a Rolling Stone article, it feels like nothing is scared now anymore. Then the self-insert has this speech about believing in women, then the okay white jock gets expelled though from what I've heard today in school your suspended but never expelled, almost like you were rewarded in the end, and then the amazing soccer girl gets the scholarship. Even though that girl that said the okay white jock raped her was probably just an allegation in the end and all.

I know some women might go "You should check your privilege" though I'd like them to check their privilege first and then I'll check mine, Quid pro quo and all. Also, I didn't like this book not because it had a woman lead character, it's that it should be a well-written character that happens to be a woman. I even didn't like all those patterns and tropes more because of their execution in all of these young adult books. Even this activism, in the end, today at times can come off as a way to bully people into believing in their side and get away with, or as an excuse not to do any work at times. You can still give it a watch if you want to though what I don't like about this woke stuff is that the execution is so forced in the end it's just very sad and turns into a one-sided argument.

The Aquabats! Super Show! (2012–2018)

It's Like the Power Rangers and Other Shows Like That!

I first heard of this band from maybe that kids show "Yo Gabba Gabba" then later I found out The Aquabats made their show and that they've had this band since the 1990s. Watching season 1 there's also this pilot before the show was greenlit and there's also this cartoon in the middle of the show as well as a fake commercial about some invention from a company called Gloopy. The band consists of The MC Bat Commander, Crash Mclarson, Eagle Bones Falconhawk, Jimmy the Robot, and Ricky Fitness. They also have this giant bus or what they call a Battle Tram they travel around in as well.

After the pilot episode where they fight a tortilla monster, there's a whole season where in each episode they fight a different monster, have a guest appearance from someone, and then there's this cartoon with a story arc until the end of season 1. The MC Bat Commander is the leader of the team, Crash can become gigantic when he becomes emotional, Eagle Bones can shoot lasers from his guitar and then gets a glove where with it, he can summon an invisible hawk, eagle, or falcon, called "The Dude" which is a spirit animal, Jimmy the Robot can shoot lasers or missiles from his fingers and can scan things since he's a robot, and Ricky Fitness has super speed.

Some of these episodes are also named after some of the songs they wrote from their previous albums. There are also guest stars either from the internet or on tv that make cameos as well and some of them are just surprising at times. Then in season 2, The Aquabats in some episodes tell people about their origins on how they all met, and there these flashbacks that are animated differently as an experiment at times. They also have the songs they did for this show as well and the show won an Emmy for outstanding stunt coordination.

Then after the show ended they made this series where The MC Bat Commander gets the band back together for the show and it's called "Saturday Morning! With the Aquabats!" and then the "All RadVentures! With The Aquabats!" and I might link the Youtube playlists to them as well as seasons 1 and 2 as well. Watching this it felt like I was watching the Power Rangers with all of its campy style and over-the-top villains. The Aquabats! Super Show! Is an amazing live-action show and a fun place for some escapism and today we need that more than ever. You can also watch all of this on their YouTube page since it seems like the DVDs to the show are all sold out now.

Batwoman (2019–2022)

Will Batwoman Defeat the Patriarchy? Tune in Next Week! Same Bat Time Same Bat Channel!

Wasn't too sure about this show or if it would be able to stand on it's own. The first episode felt pretty rushed and it's basically that Batman disappeared and his cousin Kate Kane takes over his place as Batwoman. Her enemy is Alice, some lady who read Alice in Wonderland so much she went crazy, which is kind of weird.

After a few episodes I stopped watching the show though I did watch the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover where Batman: The Animated Series voice actor for Batman, Kevin Conroy, makes a cameo as a cross between the Batman from Kingdom Come and The Dark Knight Returns Batman. Where he has this exo-suit helping him walk around and is all bitter from all the fighting. Though he feels underutilized for more of that "Destroy the Patriarchy!" bull-crap we keep getting in entertainment now.

Later the Batwoman actor Ruby Rose quit I think either because she had to get emergency back surgery after a stunt accident. It also happened with an extra on set and they was paralyzed. Also twitter cyber-bullied Ruby Rose for not being a lesbian and Jewish like Batwoman in the comics. There's going to be a 2nd season though and Batwoman will replaced by this black lady. Though it still feels like it might not mater since this show on it's own did badly with the views on CW. This show on its own felt boring and felt like a darker Supergirl honestly. I won't recommend it since it feels like it cares more about the girl power message then making a good character that's a girl.

Rick and Morty: Pickle Rick (2017) Season 3, Episode 3

I Heard This Episode Was When the Show Started Going Downhill in Writing

In this episode of Rick and Morty, the Smith family goes to group therapy but along the way Rick turns himself into a pickle, for some reason, to get away from that. Even though Rick could just hide somewhere and not overcomplicate things like other mad scientists. Beth then finds out about it and just takes the serum to undo Rick being a pickle and not him along the way, just kind of feels like if she took him even as a pickle some of the problems would have been solved.

Then as the plot goes forward there's this story where Rick goes through this struggle with being a pickle and there's all this intense violence that's pretty graphic. Also, another story where the therapist makes you think about what Rick does but it also kind of has this tone whiplash at times. Since Rick was designed to not be related with and the rest of the Smith's also come out as unlikable and without any likable charterers to root for the show ends up feeling just like a choir. Also, a lot of people in real life liked Rick and said they could relate to Rick when they watched the show which makes me wonder and question volumes on how people and society are today.

At the end of this episode Rick shows up to the family therapy and the therapist ends up scolding Rick like a child and drones on a bit about that. Though the irony is if Rick ever actually cares and stops being a jerk, the show would be over, plain and simple. The thing is these therapists don't just give you the answer to your problems and just help you try and find the answer yourself. It also kind of feels like she was trying to gaslight Rick instead of educating him on what she said.

It just feels like after seasons 1 and 2 they did this diversity and inclusion thing with seasons 3 and 4. I have no problems with that but it should be about charterer and merit, not being "this or that, or that or this". They should still have experience and not play the victim once they're criticized the whole "You don't know what it's like to be this or that!" though sooner or later we'll all go "Do you?". Along the way, I found out a bit that the original writers were taken off the show after seasons 1 and 2 for the newer writers. Just a bit sad since they had the experience but after this show became mainstream it felt like it sold out.

Rick and Morty (2013– )

Amazing Writing but Everything Else Feels Pretty Bad and Unfocused.

Recently I binged this whole show to catch up with the current season now and I first thought it was going to be one of those shows that are just mean for the sake of mean. Without having an actual reason or method to the madness to it all shows like that don't last very long at times. This was based on some old web cartoon that parodies Doc Brown and Marty from Back to the Future.

This show is about this guy Rick who disappeared 20 years ago and his grandson Morty who goes on these intergalactic adventures. Morty's parents, Beth, Jerry, and his sister Summer seem to be okay with this and don't wonder where Rick went those 20 years for some reason. Also, they seem to be fine just letting Rick take his grandson to all these out of this world adventures.

Rick is this amoral mad scientist that's the smartest man in the universe with enemies lurking around every corner. Rick later explains he takes Morty to all these adventures as a way to mask himself so people don't find him. Something about since Rick is a Genius and Morty is kind of dumb it masks him even though people say Rick is actually Morty's future self and that's why he's being taken to all these adventures. In the episode where they mention that there's this citadel of Rick and Morty's and a council of Ricks but so for they all look the same. By that I mean in shape and size and it might just be an excuse to have the same character design and we don't even get a robotic Rick and Morty that can only speak in dub step or a Steampunk Rick and Morty. That just seems more imaginative is all to me at times.

There ends up being this bit of plot progression at the end of season 1 and season 2 where Rick's friend, Birdperson. Mentions Rick's catchphrase "Wuba lub dub dub" means in Birdperson's language "I am in great pain, please help me." but it seems like if someone wants help, they need to want to have help. Since in later seasons, Rick seems to get darker and darker. Rick is kind of mean and cruel not just because he can but because if something really bad happens to the earth, he can just use his portal gun to go to another universe where another Rick and Morty died. Basically, he does this kind of stuff since the multiverse is infinite but I wonder if there will be some kind of episode arc near the end of the show where all of reality is at stake, like in "Crisis on Infinite Earths" event comic, but I doubt it.

The rest of Morty's family like his parents Beth and Jerry seem to always be arguing all the time and it just feels very annoying at times. Beth is a horse surgeon while Jerry is unemployed and is kinda spineless and wimpy, but I don't know if it's him or people just cutting him down to feel better about themselves and it's getting to him. Morty's sister Summer grows a little as a character but there are also all these mentions where she pees herself but it kind of feels like someone's into watersports or something in the behind the scenes of the show.

Rick says also that he doesn't want to do time travel, but I think it's so those testicle monsters from the 4th dimension don't find him. I like to call those testicle monsters "the 4D people" since they live in the 4the dimension. Those 4D people also keep a watch on lifeforms trying to use time travel and they're immortal so they don't care about getting killed. There's also these episodes where Rick and Morty watch inter-dimensional cable and see all these other dimensions and realities. Some just felt kind of dark to me and weren't really that funny. At the end of season 2 Rick and the family go to Birdpersons homeworld where Birdperson gets married it turns out his wife is some spy for these aliens and she nearly kills everyone. Rick and his family try running away to some different planets but Rick decides to stop running and turns himself in to this empire these aliens had. The aliens also conquer earth and the aliens just keep giving all the humans these reward metals and some kind of pills to always take. Feels like a little jab at the all participation trophies and medications that people are given at time just to either numb themselves from stress and be rewarded for just existing.

Then when season three starts these aliens try to poke into Rick's head to look into his past and try to get his portal technology. Even though those aliens could just do the portal tech themselves. Since you can into another dimension by trying to find it's different vibrational plane or something like that. Then there's this reference to this Szechuan sauce from McDonalds when the movie Mulan came out. In real life the Rick and Morty fan-base went crazy for this sauce even though I heard it's just soy sauce and teriyaki sauce mixed together. I also heard it wasn't even that good and now it feels like if you want to try that Szechuan sauce you can just make it yourself.

Then it turns out Rick gets out of his prison and destroys the alien empire and the aliens seemed to be worse than humanity after they're economy is destroyed. At the end of this episode it feels like Rick still can't accept the absurd, at least that's what this YouTube channel called Wisecrack that explains these shows. I'll link their channel and maybe their Rick and Morty playlist as well.

In the 3rd season it seems that Beth and Jerry go though this trial separation after the empire left. Also there's this episode about those Marvel Avengers movies which Rick tests them like in Saw but near the end it feels like the lady, Supernova, was broken since Rick got to her. Also fells like a little jab at the Marvel movies since they're to safe and Rick was just trying to give them challenges to sharpen them. Then at the end of season 3 Rick tells Beth that she can be cloned and see the multiverse if she doesn't want her life but can still stay on earth. I was also wondering where Beth's mother is in all of this and why Beth doesn't tell her mom Rick is back. It's also just weird since she just seemed to bend the knee to Rick taking Morty to all these adventures and seems to be real cruel when you watch this episode "The ABC's of Beth".

Season 4 though I think Rick is starting to lose it with all the adventures he and Morty goes on since Morty is getting tired of these antics he and Rick go on. I'm saying that because I saw these episodes Rattlestar Ricklactica where Morty tries to help out a snake planet after getting bit by a snake in outer space, the end is pretty shocking to me since Rick never went that far into punishing Morty. Also The Vat of Acid episode felt really dark than the usual Rick and Morty stuff and I feel like soon there will be a boiling point to their relationship.

There's also this so called Evil Morty who seems to be planing something. Maybe changing the balance of powers or preparing the citadel and the other Rick and Mortys for that Crisis I mentioned but I still doubt it. There's 70 episodes of this show and I wonder if near the end of this series there will be this big climatic ending but maybe not. I also wonder if there will be a crossover between Rick and Morty, and the show Solar Opposites, they're made by the same creators.

Watching this show it felt pretty mean though maybe because I can't quite understand dry humor at times. Sometimes the writing or the show was written by teenage trying to be edgy at times but it just gets depressing to always hear "Nothing matters and everybody is going to die." all the time. Also not to mention the toxic fan-base Rick and Morty has at times and toxic fan-bases worry me since it feels like they need to focus on other things at time. If those people say I'm wrong and go all rabid and troll me it only proves my point.

As much as I bad talk this show it has potential but it also kind of feels like it lacks focus at times. Also because they use so many references and 4th wall breaks it feels like sooner or later they will have to create or make something on their own. Since theirs so many 4th wall breaks until people go "Pointing out your problems won't make them go away." and references until you reach the bottom of the barrel.

Car Wash (1976)

Working At the Car Wash!

I remember when watching "I Love the 70s" on VH1 a long time ago I heard about the car wash song and that it was based on a movie. I even wanted to try and work at one the car wash places around here where I live but I never really saw the movie until I watched it on demand to see what it was all about.

This movie starts off with 1970s Los Angeles and a bunch of guys who work at the car wash. It's surprising how car wash places used to hand wash the car or put it through a cycle where you can watch it go by. Today now you just go in along with the wash cycle.

This movie is mostly just a bunch of people who hang out at the car wash and work there. There's also a taxi driver and a preacher played by George Carlin and Richard Pryor, they're not in this movie much just so you'll know. Also, there is this hooker who gets dressed in the car wash bathroom at times as well they even mention a pop bottle Bomber but nothing really comes of it in the movie. The end though at night worried me a bit though it didn't end too badly from what I saw.

Anyway, this movie seemed like a nice little movie from the 70s and the soundtrack is amazing. You can give it a watch if you want just a little laugh for escapism or what life was back then, "can you dig?".

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019 Video Game)

Suspenseful Single Player Story at Times but Frustrating Multiplayer Modes

I wasn't too sure about this reboot of the Modern Warfare franchise since Call of Duty now seemed more about the multiplayer than the single player campaign story now. Also don't even get me started on the lootboxes they have now. I'll be reviewing the single player campaign story mostly since the multiplayer seems kinda bad, something about there's too much "camping" were you just hide somewhere and just shoot the other team when they're around.

The campaign starts where someone steals these trucks full of chemical weapon drums and the American army checks it out. The story also goes to Britain where some SAS soldiers a new guy and Modern Warfare's legendary, Captain Price, try and stop some terrorists. Then theirs a later mission where they go to this loft to do a room clear for terrorists and it creates a lot of suspense. The American story then takes place in a middle eastern country I'm just going to call Whateverstan, and you an a resistance fighter go incognito since Whateverstan is under Russian control and I will get to that part soon.

Then you end up fighting this other terrorist group that Whateverstan created after the Russians invaded. You capture the terrorist group leader and later the terrorists rally and invade the American embassy while the SAS solders tag along for a joint operation. The terrorists end up getting their leader back and then the next level takes place at The Highway of Death. The resistance group blames Russia for the highway of death but I heard America had a part in it too but they don't seem to acknowledge it in the game. Just feel like that whole "America is never wrong!" propaganda at times even though we can be. At the end it turns out the resistance group took the chemical weapons to attack the Russians.

After that there's this flashback where the resistance group leaders, a brother, and sister, witnessed Russia attacking Whateverstan when they were kids. The Russians found this offensive since in the game when they attacked Whateverstan it takes place a few years after the Cold War was over. Then these two end up killing a Russian solider who breaks in their home while the Russian military gases Whateverstan. You use stealth a bit before you actually kill the solider and then you end up trying to get to a truck but end up captured.

Then it goes to present day where you go to this terrorist leaders hideout while also doing some room clears. The leader arms this suicide bomb after committing suicide himself and you try and disarm the bomb. After that there's this flashback level where the sister who survived the attack on Whateverstan is now a prisoner. You try and chose these questions but I just picked the silence questions then after a waterboarding scene you end up escaping out of you cell. After that you do a prison breakout and along the way meet one of the SAS people Captain Price before he had his beard.

After that both American and SAS soldiers make their way into Russia and end up interrogating a terrorist general called "The Butcher". They end up getting his wife and child and threaten to kill either them or him to know where the Russian general is. The scene is pretty intense when you point the gun at "The Butcher" and pull the trigger but it wasn't loaded. I just stopped after that since it felt like if I shot him unharmed it would be a low blow.

During the final level you basically fight the Russian general and it feels like "Go America! Go!" at times. Though at the end it builds up the original Modern Warfare team and another part of the game called Special Ops. Though some people recommend that you play with friends and not just random people, just for the sake if you want players to cooperate is all.

In the end the story felt okay after everything was put into context and it's kinda sad Russia blocked the game in a way since how they were portrayed as they bad guys. Though China can never, ever, ever, ever, ever, be the bad guy in media and entertainment because they have the most marketable people there. The game feels okay and kind of has this love hate relationship with players at times.

Richard Jewell (2019)

Really Shows You What Happens When The Wrong Person is Accused Without Research First

I didn't really know much about this guy until the trailer came out so I looked him up on Wikipedia.

Basically in 1996 Atlanta Olympics this security guard Richard Jewell discovered this bomb at the place and told the cops. Later the cops and FBI look into him and think he might of done it. Though in this movie it just feels like they didn't pay attention to what actually happened or just blamed him because it was easier than doing the research. Richard Jewell also in this feels like he's trying to be a good citizen but isn't too bright at times.

There's also this lady reporter that feels like she just wanted a trending story until she finds out she was wrong. That was pretty nice though since she admitted it and didn't blame it on something or someone else. Other people in this movie didn't feel too genuine, like they blamed Richard for this because of the painfully obvious and didn't want to do the research. Though I'm sure back in 1996 we still actually tried, did the work, and had integrity.

It's just really sad how the media hounded him and that the FBI had to take stuff from his house. Also feels like if this happened in present day with social media and everything Richard would be complete destroyed and would probably commit suicide. 6 years later they found the real bomber but it feels like after Richard Jewell was investigated that it stung his reputation.

I also heard the media when this movie came out didn't want you to watch it since it makes the media look bad, I'm just like YOUR POINT! Since this movie showed you that the media doesn't get everything right the first time. It just feels like today we lack modesty and humility to understand or know when we're wrong and not always right all the time.

Give it a watch when you can and I found it on HBO MAX. It just feels like today we lack actual, genuine, down to earth heroes. And these so called heroes like celebrities and those superhero movies and comics today just feel like they do all this for fame or barely sacrifice anything.

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018–2020)

Felt More Like She-Ra Fanfiction That Seemed To Lack Focus Than A Reboot

Recently I finished this series and in the end it all just felt okay. It wasn't that the art was bad or anything but that the writing and characters felt lazy and bad. Felt like some of the characters only kept the plot moving forward by taking matters into their own hands or by gaslighting people into doing things to rise up.

For those who don't know gaslighting is basically messing and manipulating people into doing things. That in the end is just feels, sad, pathetic, cowardly, mean, and childish, like you didn't grow up after middle school or high school. It will also come back to haunt you when your an adult or make other kids or insecure people that it's okay.

Also when watching this it might give kids the idea that it's okay to be narcissistic and gaslight people if your "This or that, or that or this." , it really isn't honestly. If you ARE "This or that" you still need to do the work, have the skill, experience, and learn cooperation. Also to not play the victim every time you didn't get your way, when your "This or that", your not better, just different. Those kind of relationships are also hard to write at times and if your not careful it will end up just coming out of nowhere or become and act of defiance. You can't just wake up one day and say your "this or that" or be with someone else to get back at someone or something and go "You can't control me!". Being "this or that" isn't a choice is all.

I DO wonder if they'll ever make a He-Man reboot but they might not because of toxic masculinity or something like that. I'm also surprised how rabid and toxic the fandom for the She-Ra reboot can be almost like you can't criticize the show. Even some of the videos that did criticize the show were either pulled or that the fandom called them cis people because that didn't have positive feedback from this show.

The thing is I don't hate these show in the 2010's but how these shows today lack a certain focus than before. When these shows were in the hands of professionals, and if this show wasn't for people me, then who is it for? You can watch it when you can but people like me just like substance over style and not style over substance. People like me just aren't just easily amused and entertained is all.

Mad TV (1995–2016)

Okay Jokes but intelligent Writing and Amazing Actors Behind the Show.

I remember watching this when I was staying up to watch Toonami's, Midnight Run when I was about 8 years old or something like that, or staying up for South Park or Saturday Night Live. I also was probably flipping though the channels and it wasn't until they showed repeats on Comedy Central the show started to spark interest in others.

Later in the end when they switched studios I stopped watching really just since was used to it and thought it would go on longer. I was also able to find clips of skits this show had on YouTube people loved this show for the writing behind the jokes. This was also back when you had a middle ground and it wasn't one sided humor or that you had to chose a side like today. The comedy here is a bit dark and edgy but it has intelligence and wit unlike today's edgelord humor. I just don't like edgelord humor since it's more about being dark and shocking for the sake of it, humor like that doesn't hold up very well without the intelligence and wit like Mad TV had.

Most of this is on HBO MAX but it looks like some episodes were probably pulled for being offensive or racist. Or didn't quite get the rights form some the episodes yet. Even though this show was from a different era and it feels like if you get rid of stuff like that you'll get rid of a part of history. Those who don't learn from the past are doomed to repeat it is all I'm saying.

They also tried to reboot this show on The CW but it felt even more cheaper than what the show really had and the jokes didn't really feel that funny. Even when they tried to get the original cast members to cameo it didn't feel like it worked out is all. Also The CW reboot was probably cancelled after 6 episodes, but that's entertainment today sadly. Can't be too edgy or offend people today because of all these PC, Woke, SJWs, who keep throwing all these identity politics now. Even the jokes those people have don't quite feel right and are kind of dumb or just plain mean, almost like people laughed only because they felt sorry for them.

Anyway I love this show and have the first 4 seasons on DVD and there's a bit more DVD's but it's really just "The Best of" kind of dvd which I don't like. Just feel like the DVD's in general didn't sale very well is all. Though if you would like substance over style in your humor give this a watch. There's clips of the show everywhere on YouTube and stuff if you can't find the dvds as well.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters (2007)

Goes on a bit too Much at Times

I remember when this came out it was also shown on Adult Swim on April Fools Day in a tiny part of the screen. They also showed some deleted scenes from the movie in a extra long episode one time as well. The movie was also in select theaters and some of the kids in high school saw it and they said it was okay. Then again this movie was based on an 11-minute stoner cartoon so there wasn't much material to work with. Also this movie is for Aqua Teen Hunger Force fans so you might not understand some of this. If not I also have an Aqua Teen Hunger Force review as well to help you understand.

Anyway, this movie starts with this "Let's all go to the movies" song and then the real "let's all go to the movies" song by this heavy metal band called Mastodon, called "Cut you up with a linoleum knife". Then there ends up being this big battle where the Aqua teens fight this giant poodle that shoots lasers out of its eyes. Frylock ends up getting killed and then Master Shake and Meatwad meet Time Lincoln. Time Lincoln ends upbringing Frylock back to life and the Aqua teens go into this wooden rocket. All of that was just Master Shake trying to tell a story and this big opening of the Aqua Teen Hunger Force song starts.

After that, the Aqua Teens find this exercise machine the they barely use and try to find some directions online on how to use it. They end up trying to find some computer chip to put it in and their neighbor Carl tires it out. It ends up turning into this giant robot and lays these robot eggs and the Aqua Teens stop the robot by getting Master Shake to sing to it and the robot kills itself.

After that Frylock talks to Master Shake and Meatwad about how they were created by this guy called Dr. Weird and that there was another Aqua Teen, Chicken Bittle, voiced by Bruce Campbell. Dr. Weird wanted the Aqua Teens to ram themselves into this brick wall while in a plane but Frylock didn't want to do that so he moved the plane around. Frylock mentions going to Africa with the other Aqua Teens to help out but Chicken Bittle ends up getting eaten by a lion. Then the Aqua Teens end up going to this house in New Jersey and that's where they live now.

The end of this movie just feels random and Meatwad gets killed somehow. then this guy Walter Melon and the drummer from Rush, Neil Peart, and somehow when he starts drumming he brings Meatwad to life. After that the movie just kind of ends.

This movie felt okay but if you are a die-hard Aqua Teen Hunger Force fan, give this a watch with some friends and maybe some beers. I even tried to get the DVD on amazon but what I bought couldn't play so it might have been a bootleg. They also have the soundtrack Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters Colon The Soundtrack. I bought that and there are also these little skits in the album as well.

Big Hero 6: The Series (2017–2021)

A Bit of Tone Whiplash at Times

Thought this show would be good giving how the animation team, Man of Action, would make this show. Since they have made, Ben 10, Generator Rex, Kim Possible, and even, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. Though I wonder about them now after they made Ultimate Spider-Man. Watching Ultimate Spider-Man at first felt like I was watching Family Guy since it had all these cutaway gags when it began. I felt like Peter Parker might have ended up going "You think that's bad." when the cutaway gags would start but I'm glad that didn't happen.

Anyway, this show takes place after the events of the Big Hero 6 movie. Hiro rebuilds Baymax then he and the rest of Big Hero 6 fight these new enemies. There also seem to be this main enemy that seems to have determination while the side enemies but they feel kind of like push overs. By they I mean like they just commit crimes for the sake of it and never seem to try and push Big Hero 6 to it's fullest.

This show also seems to go back and forth between serious and lighthearted but it feels inconsistent and can have a bit of tone whiplash. Though if you were a fan of the Big Hero 6 movie you can give this show a watch.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force (2000–2023)

Truly They Were An Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Number 1 in the Hood G!

I remember watching this show when Adult Swim first came out in 2001. Watching this as a kid I didn't quite get the humor but now I understand the humor better and feel like this show has aged gracefully like a fine wine now. While some or most adult cartoons feel like they are just dick and fart joke after dick and fart joke. Just doesn't FEEL like an ADULT cartoon also might just use dick and fart jokes or bad slapstick because they just want you watch them and not listen to them. Or mention things around their era that will probably be real dated in the future after the show ends.

This show is about a box of fries called Frylock, a milkshake called Master Shake, and a meatball called Meatwad. At first this show makes you think it's a detective show but that was just a way to trick you a little into watching it. There's also their next door neighbor Carl, who's kind of funny and sometimes tags along in the show since he doesn't have much to do at his home. Also there's these Mooninites that mess with the Aqua Teens and Carl every now and then, and the Plutonians as well.

This shows opening song was made by a rapper, Schooly-D, and he later makes cameos in the later seasons in the show. The jokes feel legitimately funny and the acting is done well. They even made a movie out of this show, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters, but it was okay. Though Adult Swim made a movie out of a 11 minute stoner cartoon so what were you expecting?

This show also has a heart and soul, doesn't just have one note characters like some cartoons now. For example there was this one episode where Frylock gets skin cancer and Master Shake, Meatwad, and Carl, try to cheer him up, help him, and are scared he might die. That feels like they're real people. I feel like if some other show that tries to be mean and not really have a reason for it would go to someone who had that would go, "HA HA, You Have Cancer!". Just feels like those shows try too hard to be South Park even after an episode of South Park was over, I'm just noticing a pattern with the cartoon shows that were on Comedy Central after South Park.

There's also an episode called "The Dickesode" and there was all these dicks that were censored with colored bars and after seeing the uncensored version. I am glad when that was on tv it was colored bars and not black bars. They even made a video game called Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am where it's basically based off on some kind of older game where you golf and there's ninjas.

Also they made a live action episode where Master Shake was played by H. Jon Benjamin, Frylock was played by rapper T-Pain, Meatwad was played by a yoga ball, and Carl was played by some guy that won a contest for who could play Carl the best. Then after the 100th episode the show reinvented itself as Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1, Aqua Something You Know Whatever, Aqua TV Show Show, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force Forever.

There was also this time Adult Swim did this gurella marketing tactic where they put all these light brights of one of the moonenites in Boston. People thought they were bombs and the bomb squads destroyed them all. The artists had to do community service and I'm glad they didn't go to jail since they weren't hurting anyone. Though when that happened I was in high school and me and my friends were talking about it. I told them that those people who did the art might not go to jail, I said might since I heard at my high school about a year after 9-11 someone saw anthrax in the school but it was actually baking soda for a dumb prank, the prakers went to jail for that.

I heard the Aqua Teen Hunger Force people tried to make an episode of that bomb scare but Ted Turner demand they stop and said if it's ever leaked he'll cancel the show. Though people leaked the unfinished episode online and I guess the show had to end in 2015. With Aqua Teen Hunger Force Forever, there was this episode I liked to think WAS the final episode and felt like the show moved on. THEN, the actual last episode was on and it felt kinda mean as a way to end the series but it probably just took advantage of how timeless Aqua Teen Hunger Force is. People still today want this show brought back since it was so good and had a sense they were actually trying. They truly were an Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

The Eric Andre Show (2012– )

He's Like This Centuries Tom Green

One day I was kind of board and watched one of Eric Andre's skits about Signfield on YouTube. It was a bit funny and reminded me of The Tom Green Show. So I decided to give the Eric Andre Show a watch on Hulu and binge the whole show. Even though today prank videos are hard to do and be kind of mean if you are not careful. Or you could get in trouble, hurt badly, or nearly killed.

It felt like when watching this I was also getting the Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job vibe. Where the jokes can be mindless filler or anti-comedy at times but it doesn't feel like they didn't know how comedy works. I'm probably just venting since Big-O Season 3 died for Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job and there was this comment about Tim and Eric, that "Not enough pot in the world would make that show funny".

There was this one sketch where Eric Andre did a "Reverse Streaking" at a nudist resort. Also, another sketch where his friend tried different pretzel brands and that made me think of my mom since she likes pretzels as well, or used too.

In the end, it feels like Eric Andre is trying too hard to be the next Tom Green. Also like I said about prank videos is that they can be dangerous at times. For me, I at least ask for permission if I do that kind of video in stores. I remember I went to this hardware store to try and do a little video about caulk there to do a "Caulk in the crack" joke. They said no and I'm glad I at least ASKED before doing that because you can get in a lot of trouble and maybe arrested. If you want to watch this, fine, season 5 is coming soon and we will see what Eric Andre has in store this time.

Homefront: The Revolution (2016 Video Game)

Okay Sequel to Okay Game About Freedom Fighters

This game is basically a sequel and a soft reboot to the original Homefront game years ago. In this game North Korea or the "Norks" invade America but in this game they end up selling these smartphones and tablets to America and we buy them. They end up having this back door to invade America with the Korean People's Army (KPA). Though if this ever happened we would never touch what North Korea had since they are thought to hate America at a young age. Also if North Korea tried to invade America they wouldn't since they couldn't supply their armed forces for any extend occupation. This almost feels like the game wants the enemy to be China but can't since China is where most of the profit goes from, at least from movies and video games.

When the game starts it takes place in Boston where your main character Ethan Brady, and these resistance fighters get ambushed. In this interrogation scene this guy says he has a "superpower" where he just points and shoots. Though if he really wanted to, he would shoot the resistance fighters himself. I also livestreamed when I first started this game on the PS4 as well if you want to see it yourself and will show it at the end. After this scene where this guys kills your other fighters, the leader of the resistance frees you and helps you try to stop the Norks after he ends up badly hurt and captured.

Along the way when you meet up the resistance you almost get tortured, since the hero you play is basically mute. Then this other leader and doctor try to help you in this subway that wasn't on the maps. You then get a gun and later a bunch of other guns that you can take apart and make other ones. After you do these side missions you can then get points to modify your guns. Though it ends up being poorly balanced when you liberate more and more parts of Boston.

The story feels a bit generic and the resistance fighters at times can't seem to control themselves. That just feels like that lack of self control was the reason this America gave up their freedom for a bunch of tablets and smartphones and might happen today. At the end you can't go back to liberate the other districts and the ending feels like the "Norks" could just nuke Boston at the end and go on to other cites. There is some DLC after the main story is over but it feels like the damage is already done after all the grinding and bad story.

Drop Dead Gorgeous (1999)

A Little Jab at competitions and how people CAN be over-competitive.

Thought about this movie from 1999 for a few weeks now since the main plot feels kind of true for reality tv, contests, and game shows today at times. I'll tell you a bit later in this review and you'll know what I'm saying. This movie is a black comedy mockumentary about this Minnesota town and it's high school Beauty pageant it's going to have. Only a handful show up and along the way someone tries to kill off the contestants one by one.

One of the contestants is a young Kirsten Dunst before the Spider-man movies. Another is this anorexic girl from last years contest in some hospitals eating disorders ward. People in this movie keeps saying if they're on Cops which is a bit of a joke in the end. Near the end when it's found out who was killing all these girls it's a bit shocking. Then there's the pageant State finals and most of the contestants get food poisoning and there's this big scene of all the other contestants throwing up. Kirstin Dunst ends up winning since she didn't eat the food there.

At the end where the winners of this pageant go to this make up place that promoted the beauty pageant. Sadly the make up place was shut down after problems with tax evasion around the time of the documentary, permanently. Then all the other contestants go crazy and attack the building but Kirstin Dunst just gets back on the bus, showing self control and being calm through it all. Then the movie explains what happened to the runner up in the pageant, the killer, and Kirstin Dunst, then it ends.

What really gets me is not only the dark humor, how overly competitive people can be, and it's also PG-13. The story also felt a bit realistic since a lot of people in these contests, reality tv, and even game shows can be overly competitive even though it's just a contest. They have other accomplishments and stuff to fall back on if they lose this and it isn't important. You can give this a watch on Hulu since it popped up recently and is considered to have a cult following.

Lazor Wulf (2019–2021)

Hope to see more of this soon, hopefully.

First seeking this on Adult Swim I thought it would be an action sci-fi animated show. It's actually a kind of an urban stoner animated comedy about a wolf with a laser on his back and was made by this guy Henry Bonsu. When I was watching this I thought the visuals were pretty colorful. The characters like Lazer Wolf, Canon Wulf, Blazor Wulf, King Yeti, and Stupid Horse, are kind of weird but that's stoner comedy at times.

Sometimes I felt like this was just going to mindless, mean, and nasty just for the sake of it all but it wasn't. What I like about the show is the visuals and how some of the characters aren't the frustrating stupid we see always on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney, were they just keep doing dumb stuff over and over all the time.

The visuals seem bright and colorful and its kind of funny how all the people in this show speak in a way that is like jive. Hopefully this show might get another season since I'm game for what Lazor Wulf has in store next time.

Steamboy (2004)

This Isn't Steampunk Akira

Wasn't too sure about this movie and thought it would be a steampunk Akira. Since the maker of this movie also did the Akira movie and The movie was advertised as that, but it wasn't. Chose to watch the dubbed version when I first watched this since Patrick Stewart was one of the voice actors in this show. Him and everyone else for the dub felt a bit rushed at times though.

The plot of the movie is that steam boy's father is trying to get one of the three steam balls to operate this flying castle machinery. Thinking if he produces more war machines he'll be able to progress humanity further than before. Though his grandfather thinks it will just lead to more death, pain, and destruction, and took one of the steam balls to prevent that. At the end it's kind of the "War is bad" message and in the credits it shows steam boy and his lady friend growing up a bit.

The stream ball is really a thing and it's called something else. I'll leave a Wikipedia link at the end of this review if you want to see the steam ball yourself. I heard this movie didn't do too well in theaters and it took the director 10 years to make because of the animation. Bennett the Sage also mentioned this recently as well and it made me want to finish up this review as well. Give this movie a watch but it isn't steampunk Akira if your thinking it's that.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

Hail to the King BABY!

Watched this at the movie theater a while ago and was surprised at all the monsters they had in this movie that were in the TOHO movies. Also was surprised that King Kong was also mentioned in this since I thought that Kong: Skull Island wasn't related to the Godzilla movie in 2014. In this, though it takes place 5 years after the 2014 Godzilla movie and the monster research group Monarch trying to search and study the monsters after Godzilla attack and King Kong was discovered.

It is then discovered that this lady created a machine that can talk and control the monsters or Titans as the people in this movie all them. Then the lady and her daughter, after awaking Mothra, are captured my Eco terrorists to awaken the rest of the Titans on earth frozen in ice. Along the way the lady's father is called in my monarch to help stop the lady with the Titan device known as Orca.

After awaking a Titan known as Monster Zero, or King Gidorah, She mentions to the guy that the Titans might actually help the world since humans destroyed the planet and the Titans might restore the planet to the original state it was in. It doesn't make sense but this movie is more about the monster than careter development. There's thenthis fight between Godzilla and Kind Gidorah and it establishes that King Gidorah gets his power from electricity for his blasts.

After that Monarch goes to Mexico because Rodan has awakened and King Ghidorah goes there as well. Godzilla also tries to fight King Ghidorah and King Ghidorah loses ahead but then it grows back after a bit. When Godzilla and King Ghidorah fight there was also all these bright flashes and quick cuts. I had to close my eyes a bit as well and was glad I didn't get a seizure from all of that.

The military tries using the oxygen destroyer to kill Rodan, Godzilla, and King Ghidorah, but it fails to kill King Ghidorah, probably because he's from space or something like that. I don't know, I went to the bathroom when they were going to explain why it didn't work on him. As King Ghidorah makes his way to Boston since the lady scientists daughter took the Orca to try to lure him there.

The Monarch team then tries to find Godzilla to help combat King Ghidorah and find this ancient civilization where Godzilla is hiding in underwater. Along the way Mothra finally hatches from cocooning and we hear the Mothra song which sounds pretty good. Back at the underwater civilization they try to find a way to invigorate Godzilla by using some nukes from the submarine they're in. It works and Godzilla ends up defeating Ghidoriah and Rodan with help from Mothra.

At the end the other monsters show up and bow to him to pay respect. The credits roll and it starts with the Godzilla song from Blue Oyster Cult but with a new song. This movie was okay but the monster fights were amazing and the movie put more time on the monsters then human element. If you want to see this for the monsters, go right ahead, but don't except a good story.

The Thing from Another World (1951)

Watch the Skies!

Just so people know I saw John Carpenter's remake of this on the sci-fi channel before I saw this original movie. I didn't even know it was a remake until a bit later from cinemassacre. Checked out the original movie out at the library to compare and contrast. This movie was based on a sci-fi book called "Who Goes There?" and in the book the alien is a shapeshifter. Where in this movie it is a vegetable that feeds off of blood.

Watching this movie had a lot of talking parts in it until the monster showed up. What is amazing about this movie is that it takes place in the Antarctic wastes, where if you try to call for help or run, it will be a while before someone comes to rescue you, making you feel stranded.

Around the end one of the scientists tries to reason with the thing but the other people end up burning the thing to death. In the end, they say to "Watch the skies." before the credits roll and at the end, this film seemed okay compared to John Carpenter remake of the movie. Since there was a lot of other movies with the sci-fi feel they had a better message in the 1950s, like "The Day the Earth Stood Still". This movie still made me like John Carpenter's the thing even more because of the intense suspense the movie gives you, even at the end. Give it a watch if you like those 1950's sci-fi movies in the end.

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)

Felt like a waste of Mark Hamill and even China didn't like it.

When I finally watched this on Netflix I was a bit worried since the last movie, "The Force Awakens", felt like more of a retread of "A New Hope". Though in this movie it felt kind of slow at times and even China thought of that as well. Basically Rey goes to this planet to train with Luke Skywalker but he now wants nothing to do with the force. Even though he brought back balance to the force in the original trilogy.

Also the resistance base is discovered by The First Order, somehow, and the Resistance tries to evacuate everyone they can on their planet. There's also this scene where Leia gets killed in space and it seems like an amazing send of something since Carrie Fisher died after this movie was done with. Then somehow Leia uses the force to get to a ship and is hospitalized for most of the movie. Then this purple haired lady takes over and it seems like she doesn't cooperate with others resistance members along this slow chase to some planet. Not even The First Order tires to cut them off from the planet by sending some extra ships along the chase at the planet to ambush them.

While Ray is on this planet with Luke Skywalker she tries to learn some ways of the force, but Luke ends up being kind of tired and grumpy at times. Luke also mentions how he tried to teach Kylo Ren but Luke ended up trying to kill him, since Kylo felt to angry with the force. Feels kind of out of place given Luke's struggle with the Empire in the original trilogy and how he was going no to bring balance to the force.

Also some of these resistance members try to get help from the thief on a casino planet. Then the thief when freed and then trying to sabotage a main First Order ship ends up betraying the resistance members, kind of making that side story pointless.

Then Rey leaves the planet Luke was on and gets kidnapped by the first Order and gets interrogated by Kylo Ren and this guy Snoke. Kylo and Rey end up killing Snoke and his personal guards. Rey then leaves and helps out the Resistance on this other planet that's made of salt and has crystal foxes.

Still felt like Ray didn't know or learn anything with her time training with Luke, feeling pointless as well. As Rey helps the resistance, Kylo ends up being on the salt planet and sees Luke at this entrance to some bunker. As Kylo and Luke fight it's discovered Luke is force projecting all the way from the planet he is on and dies, feeling like Luke was just there in this movie.

Leia comes out of her stasis chamber and she and Luke I think say goodbye to one another before Luke disappears completely. Then as Rey helps the remaining resistance members leave the salt planet, purple haired lady does this thing with her ship where she rams it into the First Order's main ship just as she enters hyperspace. Creating this weird and yet beautiful explosion but most of the people on Rey's ship don't see it.

In the end this movie felt okay, just felt like some of these scenes dragged or were poorly pasted. Also it felt like Rey didn't go through any kind of struggle in this movie and f it felt like this was a complete waste of Luke Skywalker. Hope the next movie thought ends up better is all I'm wondering.

Top Gun (1986)

The Need For Speed!

Finally watching this because of the sequel coming soon to theaters as well. I tired to watch this movie on TV but I didn't pay attention because some stuff is censored. I watched this also with my parents since dad like the jets and dogfights in this movie too. So lets get to the movie.

The movie starts with some text about ace pilots starting out and calling the program Top Gun. Then there's these jet pilots doing some tests, like if you are locked on by an enemy jet and told not to fire unless the enemy does. This also introduces Maverick and Goose, played by Tom Cruise and Anthony Edwards. Maverick is basically the risk taking hot shoot and Goose is his co pilot. After one of the guys, Cougar, quits since he couldn't handle the lock on test.

Maverick and Goose then go to some bar and Goose tries to get Maverick to hit on some girl in the bar. He gets shot down and later find out she works for Top Gun as well. There's also this gag where this other guy drinks coffee and Maverick does a fly by near him and he spills it. There's also this other guy, Iceman, played by Val Kimmer and he's okay in this. Then there's this other test where the jets try and stick together but Maverick tries to shot down a fighter. Even though the enemy might just pick you down one by one if you do that.

There's also this love story between Maverick and that girl in the bar, but we skipped that not only because the girl is a lesbian in real life, the love story kind of feels forced as well. Along the way Maverick and Goose end up burning too much fuel during a test and Goose actives the eject button. Goose ends up hitting his head on the canopy and dies, Maverick is told it wasn't his or Gooses fault but Maverick feels responsible.

Maverick ends up quitting and then after a bit joins up with Top Gun again. Then the pilots end up going on a mission and along this dog fight Maverick saves Iceman. At the end Maverick ends up want to be an instructor for Top Gun and the movie ends.

This movie felt okay from what people have today now and I hope the sequel does well, hopefully. Just because after Tom Cruise did The Mummy remake for this Dark Universe franchise I don't know about how he will do now. Watch this yourself if you feel nostalgic or something like that.

Sausage Party (2016)

It was okay, sad how the animators were mistreated behind the scenes.

As kind of excited at the concept of this movie since there isn't many adult animated movies anymore now. Even the animated movies for kids can feel like they're not trying at times. People say "It's just for kids!" but just because it's for kids doesn't mean you don't have to try. Also saw this pitch meeting sketch from Screenrant just to see what I'm getting into and it feels like this movie is pretty basic for a adult animated cartoon. Onto the review now.

The movie starts with this supermarket and the food sing this song to start the day about going to "The Great Beyond" when they're chosen. There's also this sausage named Frank and this bun Brenda who want to have sex but can't until they get to the great beyond. Then there's this jar of honey mustard saying that the great beyond is a lie and the gods eat them.

There's also this douche that's basically a jerk or a douche as people would put it. Then they meet a bagel that's Jewish and a falafel that's Arab and they all make it to the liqueur section of the store. There they meet a Native American whiskey called Fire Water, some grits that's black and hates crackers, and a Twinkie that's gay. The fruits are also gay as well and later in the movie there's this toilet paper and a condom that talk as well. There's also this taco played by Selma Hayek and she's a lesbian and likes Brenda. Also this piece of gum that's kind of like Stephen Hawking too.

Around the end the food find out that the people they thought were gods can die. So they end up killing the people in the store and after that the food has this big orgy. It does't look that graphic, then again I've seen hentai so it felt tame to me. At then end they make this stargate to try and go to the human dimension, maybe hoping for a sequel.

This movie felt okay but I heard behind the scenes the animators were mistreated and forced to work overtime without play. Hearing that it just makes me wonder about the animation industry in general now since people seem to rush this all in. Also seem to rely more on nostalgic cartoon reboots and intellectual properties. The reboots then just feel like they are the exact opposite of when the original or what the cartoon was about and that's kind of sad. Anyway give this a watch if you want but it doesn't seem to be TO deep like other adult shows now. There's just so many food puns and curse words you can say until it gets real old too fast.

Battlestar Galactica (1978–1979)

By Your Command, But Not Really.

"By Your Command", But not really though I just wanted to say that. But like watching the original Battlestar Galactica since without the original, the reboot wouldn't be around. I remember watching this on the Syfy channel as mini marathons to show people the original before the reboot aired. Originally aired in 1978 and was kind of attacked for being too much like Star Wars. Also had a big budget and had to be sent to be a bit censored as well. The big budget went to the computer since computers were big expensive things back then before today.

To the show, this show is about an alien race of people who after their world are destroyed by robots called "Cylons", go on a journey to try to find the last planet known as earth. Leaving this convoy of ships that survived is it the battleship or Battlestar called Galactica. Along the way they meet aliens, the Cylons trying to stop them, as well as the mysterious people trying to tell them something or lead them. There's also other people on other planets but I think at times they're just there so the main cast can talk to some other people.

After Battlestar Galactica was cancelled NBC tried to resurrect the show with Galactica 1980 but I heard it was pretty bad and didn't last long. It was then rebooted I think in 2003 with a miniseries and then a show in 2004 where Richard Hatch makes a cameo as well.

Anyway if you want to give this a watch go ahead, it's a bit more lighthearted compared to the gritty reboot. Also might help you get a just and feel for the plot too.
