How come this one was praised to that extend during the late 80's and later on still escapes me. This said, moviegoers bought the love triangle between Jean-Marc Barr, Jean Reno and Rosanna Arquette, hence it got its cult status instantly. Same for its hauntingly beautiful soundtrack, by Eric Serra. On a side note, risking to ruin your life in order to become totally familiar with dolphins isn't exactly the most recommended set of actions, even if you love diving and playing dead (risk of nitrogen narcosis) among them. Flawed, freaky, but emblematic of French cinema style over substance newly adopted pattern.
