Conflict photo-video journalists and their wars

by craigburma | created - 27 Sep 2013 | updated - 1 week ago | Public

Since Alexander Gardner's American Civil War photos depicting dead of Antietam, conflict photojournalism has connected us to conflict in ways no amount of words could ever accomplish.

These print, online and broadcast media journalists "cut through political abstractions and make connections on a human level" (quoting James Nachtwey). At great risk to themselves, they bear witness to the most difficult human truths. All while hoping to avoid their names being added to those eulogized at St. Bride's Church.

These titles tell their stories in various forms of conflict; mostly armed but some also conflict against the powerful and political elite.
