Baazigar is considered one of Shah Rukh Khan’s best movies and performances. At the beginning of his career, the actor agreed to do a negative role, which many big stars avoid doing even now. The Abbas-Mustan directorial also stars Kajol and Shilpa Shetty. The romantic thriller is based on the Hollywood film, A Kiss Before Dying (1991). But did you know that Anil Kapoor was the first choice to play Ajay Sharma/ Vicky Malhotra?
Yes, you read it right! Abbas-Mustan wanted the Fighter actor to play the main lead in their 1993 directorial. They even discussed the project with Kapoor, who rejected it, saying it’s too “risky”. The director duo revealed the same to Komal Nahta in the past.
In an old interview, the Baazigar directors said, “When we were ready with the story of Baazigar, we first went to Anil Kapoor.

For better or worse, Elvis Presley and Jesse James are two of America’s rebel icons. Elvis lost out on the opportunity to play the Western outlaw for reasons beyond his control. Another famous actor of the era replaced him. Regardless, the Western genre became a significant part of the singer’s career.
The director of ‘Rebel Without a Cause’ wanted Elvis Presley to play Jesse James

Although it still has a long way to go to catch up to Netflix, HBO Max is gradually building a reputation for both an impressive library of content and its own original programming. In a previous statement to People, Young said the situation was essentially a misunderstanding — an explanation the film’s producers dismissed.

The title of Riverdale's season 2 premiere, "A Kiss Before Dying," wasn't just an example of the show being poetic, creative and referring to famous cinema and literature. It was literal. Fred Andrews didn't die after a kiss but someone did. Moments after Ms. Grundy kissed her newest underage beau goodbye, she was brutally murdered in her own home. Another season of Riverdale is underway and with it there's already another mysterious murderer on the loose.

The Riverdale season 2 premiere picked up right where last season left off, with Fred bleeding after being shot at Pop's. But what really happened after that? It took Archie until nearly the end of the episode to tell his friends the truth, but while he was focused on protecting his father in case the shooter came back, the "Angel of Death," as Pop described him, was busy elsewhere.
Here are the best quotes from "Chapter Fourteen: A Kiss Before Dying."...

They didn’t mention for what though. I guess we’ll figure that out later. The following contains spoilers from this week’s Person of Interest.
On Tuesday night, CBS’ Person of Interest — as it is now almost expected to do during its “trilogy” events — dealt viewers a devastating blow when Shaw put her life on the line (and seemingly lost that bargain) in the name of assuring the rest of Team Machine safe escape from Samaritan’s equally trigger-happy troops.
The bad news? Viewers may have seen the last of Shaw, at least among the living. The good news: The character’s exit was orchestrated for the most joyous of reasons, as Sarah Shahi is pregnant with twins.

Sean Young hasn't had the easiest career in the world. One great role—as Rachel in Ridley Scott's “Blade Runner”—will stay with us forever, but her wider career never really took off the way you might have expected it to after starring in such a legendary film. Young's part in “Wall Street” was cut from substantial to pretty minor, and a horse-riding injury got her fired from Tim Burton's “Batman” and replaced with Kim Basinger; she was then cast in Warren Beatty's “Dick Tracy” before being fired from that too. The year after that—we're in 1991 now, almost ten years after “Blade Runner,” without having had another major role—she won two acting Razzies for the same movie, playing twins in “A Kiss Before Dying.” Since then, she hasn't had a lot of high profile work.So it's maybe not surprising that Young sounded a little...

• Director Noah Baumbach (Greenberg) knows how to pour lemon juice in the open wounds of aging Gen X-ers. Who better to cast in his film about a pair of middle-aged marrieds yearning for youth than Ad-Rock, or Adam Horovitz, of the Beastie Boys? If cast, Horovitz would play the guy who has grown up, had a kid, and basically moved on with his life, bringing Naomi Watts and Ben Stiller’s still-childless relationship into harsh perspective. Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried star as the young free spirits who Watts and Stiller befriend. Horovitz is no stranger to acting work, and...

Governors Ball 2012 The Governors Ball, the official post-Academy Awards party, was held at the Hollywood & Highland Center on February 26, 2012. Oscar winners and losers, presenters and performers showed up at the ball for drinks, food, and some groovy lighting and ambiance, as can be attested above. But the big news at the 2012 Governors Ball wasn't the mauve illumination, or Meryl Streep's third Oscar, or Christopher Plummer's first, or Jean Dujardin's one-for-the-books Best Actor victory, or even Angelina Jolie's bare right leg — but that Sean Young was arrested just outside the Ball. (Photo: Darren Decker / ©A.M.P.A.S.) "I was just standing by the little line [outside the Ball]," Young told People magazine. "I wasn't bothering anybody." She explained she was taking pictures with the likes of Jolie, Brad Pitt, and Sandra Bullock (right, with Young) to post them on her Facebook page when a security guard told her to leave.

Joanne Woodward never became a major box-office draw. No matter. Woodward was one of the best film actresses of the 20th century, as can be attested by her work in The Three Faces of Eve; Rachel, Rachel (right); Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams; The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds; and Mr. and Mrs. Bridge. Woodward's absence from the big screen after a supporting role in Jonathan Demme's 1993 AIDS drama Philadelphia is indeed cinema's loss. On Tuesday, August 16, Turner Classic Movies will be presenting 13 Joanne Woodward movies as part of TCM's "Summer Under the Stars" film series. [Joanne Woodward Movie Schedule.] Four of those are TCM premieres: Leo McCarey's weak comedy Rally Round the Flag, Boys! (1958), with Paul Newman as Woodward's love interest, and Joan Collins sultrily stealing the show; Burt Reynolds' highly successful black comedy The End (1978), about a dying man's attempts at killing himself with the assistance of a...

Spoiler Alert! In honor of last night’s True Blood, which featured more than one rewindable Sookie and Eric moment (watch them below!), tell us which True Blood scene you’ve watched and rewatched the most over the past four seasons. No judgment. No shame. So feel free to answer Eric and Sookie’s Fangtasia kiss, Eric and Sookie’s dream kiss at Alcide’s, Eric and Sookie’s dream kiss in bed with Bill, or Eric and Sookie’s dream kiss after Godric died. Also acceptable, something not related to sex — such as Eric gets blood in his hair,...

On this week’s True Blood, we met the other four vampire sheriffs of Louisiana when King Bill summoned them to discuss their witch problem. One of the vampires, Blackburn (pictured), is played by Aaron Perilo, who celebrated his debut by watching the show with friends — a circle of dedicated True Blood fans. (They hushed the fool who “Ooh!”ed when he made his first appearance, he reports. There is no talking during True Blood.) Though Perilo is under the usual cast orders to stay spoiler-free, here’s what we gleaned from our chat this morning:
• Blackburn has been an...

Polish film and TV star Elzbieta Czyzewska has lost her battle with esophageal cancer. She was 72.
Czyzewska died at a Manhattan, New York hospital on Thursday.
She rose to fame as a national sex symbol in Poland after starring in 1961 film Erotica and became the most popular actress in the country during the 1960s.
She starred in a critically acclaimed Polish production of Arthur Miller's All My Sons, but her career took a turn after her marriage to the American journalist David Halberstam made her an outcast in her home country, when he was accused of slander against the government.
The couple was expelled from Poland and fled to the U.S., where Czyzewska established herself as a stage actress, including a starring role in a 1974 production of The Possessed, alongside a then-unknown Meryl Streep and Christopher Durang.
On film, her credits included smaller roles in Putney Swope, Running on Empty, Cadillac Man and A Kiss Before Dying. She also made appearances on TV in shows like Sex and the City, Third Watch, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Damages.
In May 2005, she was honoured with the Cultural Award of Merit by the Consul General of the New York Polish Consulate - the highest award for a Polish American to receive.
Her marriage to author Halberstam ended in divorce in 1977.
